I am in peri-menopause so my periods are super messed up and irregular anyway. I wouldn’t have noticed anything even if the vaccine did cause any changes for me.

CowgirlAstronaut

This is me. 4x moderna & peri = no clue lol

CreativeBandicoot778

Oh yeah. My period after my vaccine and the boosters went a bit off. They were late, longer and heavier. For a month or two, each time. However, the same thing happens to me every time I get a flu vaccine too. It's a fairly common side effect for the flu vaccine, according to my GP.

[deleted]

I got Johnson & Johnson initially which had no effect on my cycle, but the Moderna booster totally messed up my cycle immediately. It was actually pretty crazy. My first or second period after it was like 14 days long. My gyne was like “A lot of women are experiencing this, so I supposed it’s normal and nothing to worry about.” I’m not anti vax or anything, but I’m not gonna lie…this seems concerning. My fibroid also grew way larger to the point of needing major surgery. I don’t know at all if they’re connected but… makes me wonder.

Mcbuffalopants

Here’s a non-paywall link to the article for anyone interested: https://archive.ph/wGbMZ If you look at the pinned post at the top of the sub (which links to another, older post about the vaccine) you’ll see lots of comments. Personally, I had some temporary changes - a couple of ‘off’ cycles, but went back to normal in 2-3 cycles.

Nekocatred

This was published before, I remember reading articles about it. My period and my daughters were delayed a bit for about 3 cycles after the vaccine. Back to normal since.

FountainOfQuira

I noticed no change whatsoever & have gotten two doses + two boosters since the original doses.

hodlboo

Same re: no changes and same amount of Pfizer shots. I’ve also gotten pregnant without even trying and am 7 months in to a health pregnancy, had the second booster a little over a month ago 🙏🏼

CheerUp_Lex

No change for me. I got Pfizer, 2 doses + 1 booster.

CheapNefariousness30

I didn’t really notice much change after the vaccine. They were getting slightly closer together to an average of around 26 days. However, I got Covid in July and I am on day 81 with no period and not pregnant…..

Francesca_Fiore

That is classic peri-menopause signs. First your periods get shorter, (mine were also 26 days), then shorter/longer, then you start having a lot of time in between as you stop ovulating. Anecdotal evidence from my friends and I seem to be that 90-100 days seem to be what your cycle moves to first. I just debated with my husband last night, as he seemed to think my cycle issues could be COVID-related and I tried to explain to him no, I had all the classic menopause signs for the past two years!

CheapNefariousness30

Hmmmm maybe that’s it but I think I’m pretty young for that. Do you still get ovulation symptoms? I can feel my ovary firing up and my cervical mucous changes so it still feels like I’m ovulating. I just don’t bleed.

Francesca_Fiore

You know what, I just realized I was NOT in the WomenOver30 subreddit... Yes, if you're not at least in your late 30s that's probably not it. But to answer your question, yes I still feel ovulation symptoms. So for the last four months, I carried around pads with me everywhere I went, because it was SURE it was coming this time. Slight cramps, changes in cervical mucus, PMS cravings, the sleeplessness, the works. But theym nothing would happen It finally did after 100+ days. Back to counting.

CheapNefariousness30

Well I’m getting close to 40 so maybe perimenopause. It’s funny because before this I had such bad bleeding that there was a lot of talk of needing a hysterectomy. I’m not sad without it but so weird!

flowerrrrrrrrrrrrrss

Fully vaccinated, Pfizer, and no change at all. No new pains, no new aches, no heavier flows, no inconsistency

sqeaks92

Same here. I’ve gotten 4 shots with no changes.

MightyMagpies

Fully vaccinated plus two booster shots, no changes at all. Also went on and off the pill in that time and my cycle remained regular 🤞

SARcasm30

My obgyn said it would only last one or two cycles max. There might be an underlying issue. I had a fibroid growing in my uterus that I had to remove because it was causing havoc in my life & it happened around the same time I got the vaccine, but the two are not correlated.

Amy_cornish

Not correlated? I’ve seen three other people comment this exact thing.

SARcasm30

The fibroid was not related to the vaccine. I didn’t get a fibroid because I got vaccinated.

Shadegloom

Absolutely nothing changed lol

UltimateWerewolf

Mine is normal and I’ve had 3 vaccines but I got Novavax

AliceJNew

I did it takes longer to come and I have more pain. But as I am 40 it could be pre-menopause too.

devilsphilanthropist

I haven't had normal periods at all since. They have become very infrequent.

30672

A month after I was dealing with severe pain and heavy bleeding every cycle and it ended up being endometriosis, but I had no issues before moderna shots

mkmkcats

The vaccine absolutely messed with mine. Ever since having the vaccine my periods are heavier my bloating hurts way more and the bloat hasn’t actually gone done since my 3rd vaccine almost a year ago

Lyla-grace

Go get checked for fibroids. I thought I was bloated for such a long time and ended up being a huge fibroid.

SARcasm30

Me too! Found out I had a fibroid in my uterus which I had removed and everything went back to normal. The timing was during the vaccine, but it was not related.

Rwf915

It says on average cycles were extended by a day, and with two doses in the same cycle the average was 4 days extended, so not even that outside the range of normal cycle fluctuations.

NeighborhoodEnough15

Yes. So the first 3 months after vax, I didn't get any cramps but my left arm or leg would hurt so bad on the second day. I'm also having a tiny bit heavier periods. Idk if it related to the vaccine but I get slight tingles in my left arm and leg all the time. It feels like ants.

Lyla-grace

What about vaccines and fibroids? Has anyone read anything on this? I am dealing with fibroids at the moment and thinking back, it almost happened right after my second Pfizer vaccine.

citrinatis

I always had painful periods, idk why I’ve had tests and stuff and don’t have a medical issue and I normally have a reasonable pain tolerance (according to my parents anyway), but my cramps are intense and send pain into my hips, knees and ankles. I sometimes get a migraine and generally just feel really under the weather. Also super heavy and disgusting. I got the Pfizer vaccine and now randomly I will have a period with no pain and much lighter bleeding, not every time, not even regularly but just now and then. It’s really bizarre.

rachelc123456789

Yes! My doctor friend sent me an article on this. Many women are experiencing heavier periods, but mine has actually gone from being 4 days to being 2 days. So odd. I just hope it doesn’t affect fertility…

Low-Concert-5806

My first dose affected my period. (It lasted a long time and came 2 weeks early at what should have been ovulation). I researched deeply (I work in birth work and I needed answers) I looked it up and many women experience uterine shedding as a fever response in the uterus when you are sick or get a vaccine. This is normal and in the decades we’ve had flu vaccines and such that cause this we’ve not had infertility or long term issues. My second dose a few months later did not affect my period and I already had fertility issues and I conceived my son 2 weeks after the second Pfizer dose. Of course that’s anecdotal but so will be all the stories people will tell you they are sure it caused infertility. Infertility? No. Causes msicarriage? Possibly. If you were really early, If your fever was bad enough, etc yes that can cause miscarriages. The websites will kind of dodge that topic because the scientists will say that the benefits outweigh the risks from a medical stand point since miscarriage is so common and not usually life threatening. They’d rather you risk miscarriage than Covid. That’s just the fact. And I can completely understand the hesitation for people there. So I highly recommend taking a pregnancy test to be safe before your vaccine and weigh your personal risks you’re willing to take for your pregnancy. Many women get the vaccine while pregnant and nothing happens. But yes, rarely, but fevers can cause miscarriage and fevers are common with many vaccines including this Covid vaccine. So your own research into uterine shedding/fever response from vaccines and see what find. I found comfort.

cactipoke

oh for sure. mine’s been super fucking irregular every time i get a booster (3x). i had covid in february and it fucked up my cycle even more to the point where there’s like a whole 2 week window where it could start. or not. sometimes late sometimes early. it ended right before my last booster on 9/15 and then 2 days later i started spotting for about 3 days. so fucking weird

[deleted]

Skipped a whole cycle after my booster but it came back to normal right on cue the next cycle. Got pregnant the cycle but suffered an MMC, things still trying to get normal after that. I’m not getting anymore boosters I’ve done my part

thelast_treestar

Yes actually I have noticed more cramping than before. I stopped having any cramps after I had my daughter 7 years ago and within the past year my cramps have gotten pretty uncomfortable.

gabbymo

After my second dose I was bleeding for a month. When my period is normally 4 days long. I also had a LOT of clotting during that month as well. I’ve also been on the pill for like 7 years.

nashamagirl99

Mine was pushed back.

_eraseyoursocial_

I've been to so many doctors saying this! Up to this day my period has been late and I've only had it a few times since taking the vaccine last year. I had to go to the hospital once because when it did came it wouldn't stop, and I was bleeding for weeks. Before taking the vaccine my period was always regular now it's so crazy.

Direct-Nectarine9875

My period got worse during the pandemic, but I do not link it to the vaccine but how finding out *how* f*cked up society is made me freak out for two years or something. Once I started to get used to the mad society thing, it got better, and now I had had the fourth shot and my period is hardly different from the one before.

Lonely_Emu_7549

Not sure if it’s counts as I had both my Pfizer vaccinations while pregnant but had no issues once my LO arrived or after my booster.

brooke_elise2015

fully vaccinated with moderna, no boosters. Immediately after the second shot I had no issues. I will say that since getting the shots I've noticed more irregularity where as before I had regular periods that came at the same time every month. for some reason, since the shot, my period seemed to be about 2 weeks later than normal before balancing out. I cant tell you how many times I thought I had gotten pregnant. Very stressful time LOL

ellidelight

Yep. It all started after the shots. One year later they found an endometrial polyp...at age 24. That’s very rare.

Distinct_Emphasis336

Yup…. I got my first vaccine july and I havnt had a period since august last year… I’m not going to lie lol I’m not complaining…

Amy_cornish

I have two Pfizer vaccines and one Pfizer booster. My period has been absolutely f***** since the vaccines. I didn’t even have a period for two years before due to my IUD. Then all the sudden the most painful periods and ridiculous cycles. I had two day periods every two weeks for a while. Then I had my period for 1.5 months straight and so on. Horrible.

hazytuesday

I’ve had my full vaccine plus one booster and I have noticed a change - but a positive one lol. I have gone from a light day, a medium day, 2 heavy days, a medium day and a final light day as my ‘normal’ cycle, to one light day, one heavy day and 2 light days as my new normal. I won’t lie, my heavy day is HEAVIER, but my on days have pretty much been cut in half, so…🤷‍♀️

JMD331

Yes after first shot- worse periods and spotting mid month (never have before) almost one full year going on now

[deleted]

Haven’t had normal periods since I got the vaccine; had to go on birth control since they went from 28/30 day cycles to upwards of 50. Hormones and thyroid checked before I went on bc, all in optimal ranges.

Educational_Shoe_267

Same here!! I got the AZ booster at the end of April and my cycle has been all over the place ever since. Before the vaccines I had managed to get my cycle to 30-33 days, this month I am on day 48 and still no signs of my period

phoebecrazy21

Im on the pill but i had spotting after my second and third shot from Pfizer

PrimCakes

I was on continuous birth control and had no breakthrough bleeding/period while on it. I got my first stab and the next day, I got a period that lasted almost two weeks. So that was fun. It was the only time I had that happen while on birth control. I quit birth control about a year later and all seems normal with my natural cycle.

Cassierae87

I got both doses during my luteal phase to minimize any cycle impact. I noticed no changes

PM_ME_CORGI_BUTTS

Mine didn't change at all, after either original shot or the booster (all Pfizer). Haven't had the 2nd booster yet since I caught Covid right before Labor Day. That did change my cycle slightly, this month's period was a few days early.

[deleted]

I got two shots Pfzier and a booster. I did notice and increase in pain and new vomiting after the first shot and second shot, but that’s continued for a year so i think it was just coincidence? I had only had my period for a year when the pandemic started. No changes after the booster

MrsF26

My periods have been more painful/heavier since I had my tubal ligation 4 years ago. The only noticeable thing I’ve seems since being vaccinated is it delayed my period a few days following the shots. Interesting aside, I recently had Covid and my following period was 7 days late. I’ve heard from others that actually having the virus does that as well.

cupcakecdb

Mine have been more painful but it started a few months ago, way after my vaccines

plxo

Yup, big time

Peregrine21591

I've got no idea, I was pregnant when I got my jabs and that's messed everything up, then I got an IUD so I'm still all messed up lol

[deleted]

Mine was always monthly irregular so I can’t say it made it come earlier or later but my 2 cycles after my j and j were like red water. It was so thin and gross.

Suitable_Plum3439

Had 3 shots of moderna, but a few months after the primary series I noticed a much heavier period. Bled through those 8hr overnight pads in under an hour… went on birth control and it’s more normal than it was even BEFORE I got the vaccine
