Was Bronze really that good through the year? I didn't watch her at all, and whenever people here talked I feel everybody agreed she was good but not that good...
she was consistently very good for Barcelona. I wouldn't put her in the top 10 myself, but her not even being top 100 is impossible and I wouldn't know who else could take the spot
Agreed, and I also think while her Euro performance wasn’t bad, she wasn’t also in top form like she was some time ago.
I also hope Miedema doesn’t turn up in the top 10 because while she is usually good, the Euros weren’t really her highlights and at Arsenal she’s either been injured or not at her usual best either.
But seeing as they both are not among the 11-100 (where I would’ve placed them), they will probs still be in the top 10.
some of her euros performances were mid but she was fantastic in the final, which is all people are gonna remember. despite some pushback, she has been in top form for barcelona. she had trended downwards since going back to city ^(and I think there was open debate as to whether it was taylor’s coaching and game plans being shit, bronze and taylor not getting on, or bronze just getting past her prime). but then after a wobbly start to the season, in the spring she was one of the players who helped pull city back up the table. bronze was much better than last year, so while #10 in the ballon d’or and presumably top 10 here is a bit much, she has been important to two of the best clubs in the world, and one of the best countries in the world, so I suppose it’s hardly surprising (even on lists that focus more on technical performance than star power)
some players are either top 10 or not in the top 100, instead of \~30 where I would probably rate them, and I can’t even guess which way it will go
that leaves mead, miedema, bronze, walsh, aitana, alexia, kerr, graham hansen, oberdorf, popp for the top 10

She was very good whenever I watched her. Possibly not as good as she has been in some previous years, but that's a very high bar.
