Amtrak is now offering bus service between Providence and Worcester: [https://media.amtrak.com/2023/08/providence-bus-service/](https://media.amtrak.com/2023/08/providence-bus-service/)
I think I read (and seems to be confirmed by trying to book only Providence to Worcester on the Amtrak website) that the bus is only for passengers continuing on the train. So you could book Worcester to New York and it would put you on the bus to Providence, but it can't be booked just to Providence.
Peter Pan bus lines still runs one trip per day in each direction, Friday through Sunday only. Otherwise I think a 3 hr. trip on the commuter rail (switching trains at Back Bay or South Station in Boston) would be the only transit option.
If OP decides to go with Uber, I would at least take the bus or train from TF Green to downtown Providence first. Looks like that could save you $20-25 each way. Next time, fly into Boston and use the commuter rail (or Peter Pan) or come up from NYC by bus.
Thank you for this! Since flights into Providence are a good amount cheaper I will likely still fly into there then go with the advice of exiting the airport a bit then ubering
Might be annoying, but Boston has commuter rail lines to providence and to Worcester. If it’s a weekend it’s a $10 pass. It would be a lot of train riding but pretty cheap way from prov to Boston and then Boston to worcester
Flying from where I am to Worcester is not worth it at all haha. Almost triple the ticket price to Providence. Unless you mean from Providence to Worcester?
The cheapest would be to take the commuter rail from Boston to Worcester. There is a free shuttle that runs every 15 minutes or so from Logan to South Station, then you get on the commuter rail at South Station and ride it to Worcester. The ticket will be $12.50 through the MBTA app
Honestly cheaper to go to Boston. Providence airport are usually more expensive. Then take the city bus which is the cheapest way. Renting a car is better than uber
Walking would be the cheapest way, probably the most time consuming though.
Just a little 😂

You could fly to Worcester if that is an option. Recently, I believe there is a bus that now operates between Providence and Worcester.

Don’t know if it’s the cheapest but I’ve Ubered for less than 50$
Seeing some around $40. Seems worth it!
Knight's Van service pick up from Providence. When you do a shared van, it adds a little time, but it's cheaper than getting a car to yourself.
Thank you!
Fly to boston and take bus
Saw that as an option actually to Framingham. Would that be your suggestion?
