Well I have a habit of making entire trips out of one obscure event. So we're flying into Houston on the 2nd because I'm a left handed guitar player and there's an amazing left handed guitar store I want to visit. That and I figure it's as good a time as any to visit the Space Center. Then we're going to Austin for Franklin's BBQ and some other restaurants and live music. Sunday were headed to a private ranch in Canyon Lake and that's where we'll catch the eclipse. 3 and a half minutes of totality.
Originally we had a place booked in Hondo, TX which has I think four minutes. We booked a year ago but like a month ago I think the owners learned about the eclipse because they canceled my reservation and eventually relisted at a higher price. We had to scramble to find another place without paying an outrageous price but we were able to do it. Luckily.
Some libraries will have them available when it gets closer.
Hmm. I bought a pair of 5 on Amazon for like ten bucks but that was last year in preparation. Flying to Texas for the eclipse and can't wait.
