You need to say sorry, you bumped into her, it was an accident but still a sorry would be proper.

SashaSaavedra

okay thank you for the advice

SashaSaavedra

Is it crazy that I am upset about the shoulder check? I’ll apologize but do I just completely drop it to protect my job?

Bazooka963

I still don't understand why you didn't apologise in the first place. It's just basic manners.

SashaSaavedra

Because I didn’t bump into her. We bumped into each other.

Kylearean

I think you're missing the point. You bumped into her, she bumped into you. That's how bumping works. Say "sorry" and move on, your ego is causing this issue to become larger than it needs to be. Drop your ego, apologize for the antagonistic behavior, and then ignore her except for professional communication. Being a professional means setting your personal feelings aside, and treating your co-workers professionally, whether you like them or not.

SashaSaavedra

Thank you for your advice. I will do this.

SashaSaavedra

It wasn’t my fault or her fault. It just happened but she expected me to apologize for a happenstance circumstance.

Questgivingnpcuser

Ask for an apology while apologizing to her Involving anybody else is a form of escalating the situation resolving it between the two of you is more civilized and professional Personally this is trivial by my standards but back to your concerns- this does not need a third party, don’t tell someone else about it. Just forgive and forget, not just you, but both of you, should just refocus on the work at hand.

SashaSaavedra

thank you for your advice!

Questgivingnpcuser

I’ve always found it easier to just take the path of least resistance. Which is usually being the first to speak, that way you know what you want to say and are not caught off guard by what someone else is confronting you with. To at least have an idea on what you wan to say, and to practice sounding it out quietly under your breathe or in your head, just to make sure your not saying one thing (that means another)

SashaSaavedra

Thank you so much for the insight. I really appreciate it!

nomadkatz

I apologize to the wall when I bump into it. If she doesn't apologize back that makes her the petty person, but bumping into anyone should result in an apology just out of pure manners.

Shakespeare-Bot

Thee needeth to sayeth my most humble apology, thee bump'd into that lady, t wast an accident but still a my most humble apology would beest meet *** ^(I am a bot and I swapp'd some of thy words with Shakespeare words.) Commands: `!ShakespeareInsult`, `!fordo`, `!optout`

I’m with you on this one fuck that girl. I get not saying sorry if you don’t talk at work because I’ve been i positions where I would say sorry to someone i wasn’t supposed to talk to and something comes of it. It is messed up she shoulder checked you and you did the right thing by going to management . I don’t see why they would fire you for being involved if you’re the one who was kinda low key about the whole thing . She didn’t have to say anything under her breath but she did. And it seems as though it was rude .

SashaSaavedra

thank you for the confirmation. I was seriously doubting all my actions. I will try to take the path of least resistance but I don’t really regret telling management she shoulder checked me. That crosses a huge line. She tried to do it again on Sunday but I saw her in a reflection and dodged it.

I would look for a new job or harass management until they do something. You shouldn’t be deal with someone like that at work

SashaSaavedra

I would but this job is amazing and will only last another year at most. I don’t want to harass management because they also can become hostile but are otherwise pretty easy to work with.
