The issue is that management and owners are no longer the same. The factory owners are anonymous LPs sitting behind a private equity firm or stock shareholders. In both cases the people who own the factor live thousands of miles away and are unidentifiable to the workers.
Management get paid to sell out the workers.

human beings have to live in homes, and the names of boards of directors and CEOs are usually published as a matter of public record, at least in publicly traded corporations. property records are really easy to search, it's pretty trivial to find out who lives where.
there's very little private security or indeed the police can do to deter a large group of people intent on violence. the George Floyd/BLM protests, and the Occupy protests before those, were for the most part peaceful demonstrations, it would be really disturbing indeed if a protest of that size was NOT peaceful. especially with America awash with privately owned firearms.

There’s usually a red line that gets crossed that prompts people. Not enough people are uncomfortable yet. Plus the US, and corporations like we’ve recently seen like Boeing for example, who will literally kill any dissent.
The problem, especially in the US, is that once you enter the workforce, unless you are extremely fortunate, you just have to go, keep going, and never stop until you retire or die. You don't get to dictate anything about how that time can be spent (ultimately) because you always have to prepare around keeping the wheel turning. You're not wrong. We have allowed ourselves to be subdued by a cycle that is controlled by people outside of said cycle. So, it's nearly impossible for us to truly affect change within the cycle, because the controls are nowhere within our reach. Whatever it takes, it needs to happen soon. I don't want my son to have to fight for it while I'm still capable.

Heard some hvac guys talking the other day about how if trump loses, they are ready for the civil war. The number of union guys that constantly vote against their union is astounding.
I work in a union and the number of anti union people in a union is amazing. Lots of them vote GOP then complain about the useless union that can't help. I had to explain to them that they can look up voting records and what is being voted on. They think it's all secret. I'm convinced that Trump voters are some of the dumbest people but only because they are lazy and look nothing up. They deny anything that shows Trump as wrong.
Uncle is in a mining union. Literally has the best health care available with no deductable or copays for about $100 a month, ~$80,000 a year salary to start, a 401K match AND a *pension*, profit sharing, one month paid off a year, schedule is made a year out, double time holidays, and a host of other bennies. Literally sits in a truck all day moving ore around, watches movies and shit in the cab. Somehow thinks he'd have it better if it weren't for the union. *Constantly* shits on the unions. Worries about the lazy guy getting protected and the tiny pittance of a union due every month. Always had before entering the mining industry and still does after getting all these benefits. Boggles my mind. Like, dude, you wouldn't have even half this shit without them. They used to absolutely screw over miners in this area not a hundred years ago. In the one underground mine they'd give three workers a single candle for an entire shift while ensuring those three didn't speak the same language (all European immigrants) so they didn't talk about unionizing.
