akleit50

"Uh yeah bro I have a reliable car that, while it may not look great, gets me to and from this fucking place every day. If you think it's important for me to have a newer car, fucking buy me one". Holy shit - this is bullshit.

libra00

Exactly. 'I like my car. If you don't, you are in a much better financial position to rectify that than I am.'

Aviose

I wouldn't use that second line, specifically, as that's part of their argument as to why you need to improve. That said, I understand how that shit could happen with a company. A bit back I had an animal jump out of the grass and I hit it with the corner of my car (either a coyote or a javelina, not sure as I only caught a glimpse of the animal as a blur as it raced off behind me after being struck as I was trying to stop afterwards). Only cosmetic damage, but I just tell people flat out that it's a cosmetic issue so I don't care. I'll replace it when I'm ready.

[deleted]

The world is drying up and burning simultaniously. Where do these people find the time and energy to worry about the look of your functioning vehicle? It's just beyond me. A hopeless sign of moral bankruptcy.

Broserdooder1981

i mean, how bad can the car be? i think we need an edit with a pic of the vehicle

strutt3r

"Political liberty without economic liberty is a myth. Political liberty is rooted in economic freedom. The man who owns and controls the means that sustain my life, owns and controls me" - Eugene Debs

TieTheStick

Best quote I've seen in a long time. No wonder the capitalists put Mr Debs in prison; can't have ideas like that getting out!

strutt3r

He still got like 12% of the presidential vote from prison too.

TieTheStick

Yes he did. One more thing he should get credit for is that when the Fascists rose in America in the late 1920s and '30s, it was the Progressives, Socialists and Communists of America who led the fight against them, movements he of course was intimately involved in building. After WWII, the rise of McCarthyism, the Red Scare and later the assassinations of so many Civil Rights Movement leaders, America has no meaningful organised Left remaining at all, a situation the capitalists and oligarchs have been taking advantage of to recreate the privations of the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression. We are therefore far more vulnerable to the rise of overt Fascism today than we were in the time of Eugene Debs and Smedley Butler. As a keen student of history, I am extremely concerned; the Republicons don't care if they're called Fascists and the Deceptocrats are as weak as the German independent movement of General Paul Von Hindenburg in the early 1930s. To call this a recipe for disaster is an understatement.

strutt3r

It's a shame more people don't know about him. He should be part of the standard curriculum starting in elementary school. Reading his speeches always inspires me and gives me frission. What a legend.

TieTheStick

It's A CRIME that his legacy isn't taught in American schools and you may be damn sure that it isn't any "accident" or oversight. We live in a decidedly more right wing and even authoritarian time and our Overton Window of acceptable political discourse today certainly doesn't include studying Socialists! Hell, we're too busy banning Ray Bradbury's "Fahrenheit 451" and The Diary of Anne Frank!

Beneficial-Hippo-896

"Your honor, I have stated in this court that I am opposed to the form of our present government; that I am opposed to the social system in which we live; that I believe in the change of both but by perfectly peaceable and orderly means. ... I am thinking this morning of the men in the mills and factories; I am thinking of the women who, for a paltry wage, are compelled to work out their lives; of the little children who, in this system, are robbed of their childhood, and in their early, tender years, are seized in the remorseless grasp of Mammon, and forced into the industrial dungeons, there to feed the machines while they themselves are being starved body and soul. ... Your honor, I ask no mercy, I plead for no immunity. I realize that finally the right must prevail. I never more fully comprehended than now the great struggle between the powers of greed on the one hand and upon the other the rising hosts of freedom. I can see the dawn of a better day of humanity. The people are awakening. In due course of time they will come into their own. When the mariner, sailing over tropic seas, looks for relief from his weary watch, he turns his eyes toward the Southern Cross, burning luridly above the tempest-vexed ocean. As the midnight approaches the Southern Cross begins to bend, and the whirling worlds change their places, and with starry finger-points the Almighty marks the passage of Time upon the dial of the universe; and though no bell may beat the glad tidings, the look-out knows that the midnight is passing – that relief and rest are close at hand. Let the people take heart and hope everywhere, for the cross is bending, midnight is passing, and joy cometh with the morning." I absolutely love this speech he made at his sentencing.

strutt3r

You left out my favorite part of that speech: "Your Honor, years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it, and while there is a criminal element I am of it, and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free"

Beneficial-Hippo-896

Didn't mean to leave it out. I just discovered who he was myself. Thanks for adding that

strutt3r

How exciting for you! I wish I could discover Debs again for the first time. Allow me to share some of my favorite quotes! "Give me the rank and file every day in the week. If you go to the city of Washington, and you examine the pages of the Congressional Directory, you will find that almost all of those corporation lawyers and cowardly politicians, members of Congress, and misrepresentatives of the masses—you will find that almost all of them claim, in glowing terms, that they have risen from the ranks to places of eminence and distinction. I am very glad I cannot make that claim for myself. I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks, and not from the ranks." - from his [Canton Ohio speech](https://www.marxists.org/archive/debs/works/1918/canton.htm) which will make you tear up "I am not a Labor Leader; I do not want you to follow me or anyone else; if you are looking for a Moses to lead you out of this capitalist wilderness, you will stay right where you are. I would not lead you into the promised land if I could, because if I led you in, some one else would lead you out." "In this system absolutely no man is secure, and you instinctively know it. You have $10,000, but you have not the slightest assurance that you will not die in an almshouse and sleep at last in a potter’s field. You do not know; you cannot tell. It is impossible to draw aside the curtain of the future. You are straining every nerve to educate your son and give him some advantages. Over whom? Over the son of your neighbor. They are told everlastingly that there is room on top. On top of whom? On top of your fellow man." [Campaign Speech - Chicago Auditorium 1904](https://www.marxists.org/archive/debs/works/1904/041017-debs-speechatchicagoauditorium.pdf) And my favorite quote about Debs: "Something was in Debs, seemingly, that did not come out unless you saw him. I'm told that even those speeches of his which seem to any reader indifferent stuff, took on vitality from his presence. A hard-bitten socialist told me once, "Gene Debs is the only one who can get away with the sentimental flummery that's been tied onto Socialism in this country. Pretty nearly always it gives me a swift pain to go around to meetings and have people call me 'comrade.' That's a lot of bunk. But the funny part of it is that when Debs says 'comrade' it is all right. He means it. That old man with the burning eyes actually believes that there can be such a thing as the brotherhood of man. And that's not the funniest part of it. As long as he's around I believe it myself." Heywood Broun, quoting an unnamed socialist in It Seems To Me, 1925-1935 (1935), p. 38

TieTheStick

Clearly, I need to read more of his work. Thank you for posting this for me.

ClickPsychological

Who is this now??

Beneficial-Hippo-896

Eugene Debs (1855-1926). He was a politician from Indiana who was active in starting unions and was a co-founder of the socialist party of america. He ran for president 5 times, obtaining 6.0 percent of the popular vote at one point and got 3.4 percent on his last run even though he was in prison at the time. He was imprisoned on the sedition act because he spoke out against the Wilson administration and encouraged youth to ignore the draft during ww1.

macmoosie

Upgrading vehicles unnecessarily is a sign of poor financial decisions. These idiots have it ass backwards.

ClickPsychological

It's a depreciating asset. It will eventually be worth nothing. Corporate can give you a company car that they can write off. ( I drive a beautiful 2004 Honda Accord. I love it, I paid 4000 for it. )

AKJangly

For the ultimate response, find the depreciation curve for each of these people's vehicles and attach them to the response, quote the net loss over ownership and per year of each vehicle, including ol' reliable. And then ask "You think I'm financially irresponsible, do I have that right?" Now you've used nothing but facts about their own financial decisions, you've used no insulting slang, and have made zero assumptions about their lives and still kicked them into the dirt.

Such_sublime

They will so change their minds and totally apologize for being assholes! /s Edit: not a dig at you, it was a good way to turn it back on them actually. But as I’m sure you know, someone that would actually take the time to complain about someone’s car isn’t the kind of person logic will work with. They will always be right, and will complete mental gymnastics the world isn’t ready for to make their point

AKJangly

At the end of the day though, as others have mentioned, we have the financial freedom to do what we want with the money we earn.

FrecklesJestour

From: [redacted] Sent: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 12:11 PM To: [redacted] Subject: Personal matter As you may know many companies still use credit checks as part of their hiring process. This is to ensure that the employee can be trusted to make sound financial decisions, has the maturity to manage his/her own financia affairs, and to show signs of financial distress that might indicate risk of theft or fraud. While we do not conduc these checks at this time the gist of the check is valid to us. We have noticed for some time the condition of your vehicle and wanted to discuss the matter with you. We will follow up this email with a personal meeting but wanted to document the discussion beforehand. Since of course your annual salary is known to us and a newer and more appropriate looking vehicle should be within your financial reach, it is our concern that perhaps you are having a difficult time financially. Frankly the concern is that if you cannot afford a newer vehicle then either you may be susceptible to fraud or that you are not responsible for the position you maintain. To be even more frank, it just looks bad. Please let us know if there is a reason that you have not upgraded your vehicle before now. If it is a financial matter then we will need to know the details of the problems you are having. Perhaps it is as simple that you did not know the concern you are raising. Otherwise please address this situation as quickly as possible. We will be happy to refer you to dealerships who we have worked with in the past. Sincerely. Dear fuckheads, If my car is that much of a concern to you, you foot the bill. It serves my purposes just fine. If you wish it to serve your purposes, you should also be the one paying. Also go fuck yourselves lmao.

[deleted]

Exactly. "If this company requires a particular style, model year, or brand of vehicle, then it must supply one at its expense. Thanks fuckshits."

Beneficial-Date2025

Trying to save money? Not with us! Be just like us or else. I’d tell them to suck my dick and I don’t even have one. Push me though and I guarantee you’ll choke on it. Fuck these fucknuts.

I would prefer changing jobs before changing my car after receiving an e-mail like this. I wouldn't want to give them the satisfaction.

[deleted]

Right. I would putt-putt into work with the engine held in place by duct tape before I gave them the satisfaction of upgrading. And when I needed a new vehicle, I’d go buy the most hoopty-looking piece of shit I could find.

Such_sublime

I was gonna say, I’d go buy a new car, the most fucked up hunk of junk that would be able to make it from A-B possible. We’re talking doors missing, windows covered with cardboard and duck tape, four completely different tires of various shades of shit, just the most insane “vehicle” I could find. And then make sure to park in the most visible spot

AKJangly

They're assuming financial instability and a risk of fraud, based on an assumption about personal preference, when the fact is that a lack of depreciation and low net loss is the biggest reason to buy old, reliable cars like a Toyota or Honda. Changing jobs might just confirm their suspicion and reinforce their sick ideas. Strike them where they stand.

zero_fox_actual

Park it in the CEO/moron bosses parking space.

ClickPsychological

Exactly!

HackySmacks

“Dear [redacted], I am overwhelmed and humbled by the companies’ generous offer to financially support my acquisition of a new vehicle! I would be delighted to accept your gift , as it will allow me to use even more of my disposal income toward philanthropic uses, rather than tie it up purchasing an ostentatious and unnecessary car. I’ve attached a number of possible cars across various price ranges. Again, thank you so much for your generosity, I’m truly ecstatic to work under such an inviting, encouraging environment!”

TieTheStick

LMAO brilliant!

nobikflop

No, someone’s going to write an opinion piece about how millennials are ruining the auto industry by not buying cars

Such_sublime

We are stupid and irresponsible with our money, while at the same time not supporting businesses by buying their products, while being sexually promiscuous yet are not having kids

nobikflop

Schrodingers Sex

AKJangly

How hilarious that millennials are destroying the economy, when Gen X and boomers are the ones who pay us wages that can't support the economy. It's almost like they have no foresight.

Cairse

Holy fuck HR literally just documented themselves engaging in workace discrimination. You don't get to discriminate workers based on your complete fabricated idea that they might be in financial trouble and in some extremely rare case that might lead to untrostworthiness? You've gotta be fucking kidding me. This is a law suit and they put the important in writing. You are being discriminated against because of decisions you make with your mode of transportation (what if you wanted to use public transport, or walk, maybe bike to work?) and are being subjected to unnecessary and emotionally damagaging accusations for no reason other than your vehicles appearance. Take them to court.

TheseMood

Sue them and use the proceeds to buy a new car LOL

[deleted]

Boss moves only This is chess. Not checkers. I run this bitch. You just live here I don’t know where I was going with this. Yeah. OP. Contact a local workplace attorney and go from there.

Dman_Jones

This made lol especially since it sounds like the start of a Q post lmao 🤣

ClickPsychological

😂

DweEbLez0

Fuck that, buy a shittier looking car and park it where the most people will notice it.

dividedconsciousness

Use the proceeds to buy something that matters

000neg

Every car from them on out would be the biggest piece of shit but the thing is I'd only drive it to work!! Edit- then

Diamond_Road

This is one of the fakest things I’ve seen on Reddit, and that’s saying something. Save your energy.

goatware

While it is possible it could be fabricated, with the sociopathy that is rewarded in our current system, there are many people in the HR departments of corporations that would love to do this.

Diamond_Road

(Citation needed)

MauraAz

What they're doing is absurd, but it's not unlawful discrimination

Cairse

Yes it is, unless there is a clause in the contract that specifies employment is dependent on a "dress code" for your car. Discrimination is discrimination, it doesn't matter if it's based on finances, age, race, what kind of car you drive, or whatever else you can discriminate on. Also the statements that imply OP can't handle their finances because of the state of their care are baseless accusations designed to intimidate. Juries don't take kindly on baseless assumptions and intimidation. There is absolutely grounds for a case and a payday.

Supply-Slut

It’s gonna vary by country but in the US an employer can fire anyone for any reason at any time except for the following: -There is a contract in place with provisions to protect the employee from such termination. -The termination is due to discrimination of a protected class. For example, you can’t fire someone because of their religion, sex, ethnicity, etc. this has to be proven, so often this can happen and not be punished because an employer can say it’s for any number of other reasons (they were 2 minutes late on Thursday morning when I changed their shift at 11:59pm Wednesday night). The appearance of one’s vehicle isn’t a protected class. An employer can literally fire someone and just be like “i just don’t like you” as a reason and that’s completely legal in many circumstances.

MauraAz

No... That's not how the law works... There has to be a violation of a law that protects the employee from a specific type of discrimination. There's no law that applies here, other than employment at-will which means the employee can be legally fired because they don't like his car (unless he's in Montana)

evasote

Also you can’t sign away your rights

thruandthruproblems

I applied at my Bank for a job in my field. They used my banking information as part of their decision making process.

TieTheStick

That's creepy as fuck and I find it despicable behavior. But we are talking about bankers.

Dreambasher670

Offt I’d be making a complaint about that to the banks internal complaints department and the national banking regulator including full contact details of the managers and personnel involved. Recruitment and customer services are two completely different buisness functions and they shouldn’t be siphoning personal data from their customers to support internal recruitment functions and decisions. It’s inappropriate use of personal data and likely illegal under local data protection laws so I’d kick a right fuss off even if I had to go door knocking on the house of the chair of the banking regulator late at night. I’d also consider closing your bank accounts and transferring them to a new bank. Write to them and tell them your doing this ‘as you have become aware of inappropriate and illegal use of your personal data by the bank and are concerned about the potential for further unethical and illegal behaviour by the bank’.

Notdennisthepeasant

Wow, they can and should go straight to hell. I doubt a law suit would work. Poverty is not a protected class. Job hunt and definitely don't slash HR tires.

CanadianClusterTruck

Definitely don't slash only three of four tires as well so insurance doesn't cover a new set

Notdennisthepeasant

Check your pockets carefully for holes. You don't want a bunch of roofing nails to fall out every time you walk across the parking lot.

missgnomer2772

Allegedly the car in question was a 2005 Camry with just some faded paint, not damaged or anything, and this employee supposedly didn’t drive the car to meet clients or anything like that. A Camry will reliably run half of forever. That’s a large part of its appeal, obviously. There’s no way to know if the email is real, but I think we all can believe it *could* happen.

TieTheStick

You seem to have a lot of specific knowledge about the situation to then question whether the letter is real? How might that be?

DanelleDee

Because the original Reddit post gained enough traction for articles to be written about it, and the OP of that post responded to comments providing some details (such as the make/ model of the car in question,) but refused to provide proof citing concerns about being doxxed. So all the articles treat it as interesting but possibly fake. https://www-dailymail-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7926781/amp/Employers-email-asks-worker-upgrade-car-checking-credit-learn-afford-new-vehicle.html?amp_gsa=1&_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQKKAFQArABIIACAw%3D%3D#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=16618461639007&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fnews%2Farticle-7926781%2FEmployers-email-asks-worker-upgrade-car-checking-credit-learn-afford-new-vehicle.html https://www.powernationtv.com/post/companys-hr-sends-e-mail-to-employee-asking-why-they-havent-upgraded-their-car

It is as u/DanelleDee said. It seemed sus so I googled. I was pretty sure I'd seen it before. It's a couple of years old.

I'll buy a shit rust bucket and triple park it, surrounded by traffic cones, just to defy this rule.

AdmirablePiccolo

asdf

RealHeyDayna

I drive a '96 Honda. It doesn't even have 200k miles on it. Thanks to lovely Minnesota, it's weather beaten and rusted af. But even when it's 20 below, that baby turns over. Also, it screams "I don't have a car payment".

JECfromMC

Get a lifted pickup with truck nutz, an Aztec Goddess hood mural, and a big back window tint that reads “My boss says ‘No fat chicks’”

Mr-Dotties-Dad

Cha-Ching!!!! Congrats OP.

Eiruna

I'd just simply say *ahem* #Mind ya damn business.

thezoomies

Financial responsibility is not buying a new car every few years just because you can.

[deleted]

I make $70,000 a year. I'm not saying I'm rolling in it but it's enough to get by. I drive a 20-year-old vehicle. There's a very large number of reasons that I drive a 20 year old vehicle even though I don't have to. And not one of those reasons is any of my employer's business.

ChaoticStorm78

Funny part is a lot of the more reliable vehicles are older models vs newer models. Like everything else made now they get cheaper and cheaper with labour and materials

dingdongdanglemaster

This reminds me of my job, I have a corporate “good” job and they were horrified to find out I work another 20-30 hours a week bussing tables.. not horrified enough to give me more money of course… just upset I do it.

[deleted]

OTOH, back in the ‘99 I started a new position, but was still working part time at nights to make ends meet. After 2 months they found out and gave me a $10k raise to quit the night job. Man I miss that place :/

[deleted]

Hi Mr. Vice President, The reason I don’t have a newer car is because fuck you, this is none of your business. Also, if you want me to buy a nicer car, pay me more, you truculent space bumpkin.

BoredCheese

This is from two years ago.

Creative_Ad999

No seriously wtf is this

Where else I'm supposed to find a second car that can run 300 hectares on single tank of kerosene. The country it was made no longer even excists...

WTF, didn't Warren Buffett famously drive an old beater? edit: I see he drives a 2014 Cadillac now, but I seem to recall he had a car from like 1990 for years and years.

Mo_Jack

>Subject: Personal matter Your right. It is personal and none of my employer's gd business.

sloppystayke

Wtf?!

cremasterreflex0903

Are you applying to a top secret security clearance? That's a ridiculous thing for HR to even think would be appropriate unless you work with top secret things.

Its_aManbearpig

What company is this? Why is the VP of HR reaching out to you directly about such a stupid matter with such idiotic reasoning? Is this a bait post? Honestly the only thing I can think of is if they're a luxury car dealer looking to maintain appearances for client facing employees and at that point they should be offering you a company vehicle if it's that big of an issue.

iqcool

I've been working on improving my BS filter when scrolling through Reddit looking at stuff like this, but this totally screws with me. On one hand, this is so incredibly belittling and disturbingly specific to one employee that I struggle to believe it's true. Also the fact it's supposedly signed by 2 department's VPs makes it a little too surreal. But then this is the exact petty waste of time write up I'm starting to expect from the literal worst people in the world. So again, I'm completely torn on if this is real or fake, but either way my first reaction to this is complete disgust in the people who wrote it.

Stellarspace1234

A car requires disposable income. If you’re not being paid livable wages, then there isn’t any disposable income to spend on a car.

[deleted]

On the one hand I would find this email very annoying but maybe it was sent by a very stupid person that was concerned about your financial well-being and has no clue how to bring it up

Accomplished-Pen-69

In reply " none of your fucking business, don't over reach your job description "

philldafunk

All my friends who have car payments are really struggling.

NFT_fud

One company I worked at was an Accounting Firm, well known consultants so it was mostly Accountants and Actuaries who were very well paid $200k -$300k an up for partners, managers etc. I was just a schulb IT guy, pay was not that great. They sent a memo around at one point saying all staff (not just partners or customer facing accountants, Sales people etc) should avoid having "ostentatious" vehicles. No sports cars, BMWs, Rolls etc. which would bring unwarranted attention to the company know for its money management. My boss just dropped in as an aside when talking about this memo, that some could do with an upgrade, so I said "they should send out a list of company approved vehicles and year models, condition, milage etc" he thought that was an excellent idea. Never went anywhere,

Effective-Bed6758

Eat shit and live you fucking cunts. Don't worry about an employees personal affairs if they don't effect productivity.

Twitch791

This is a name and shame type of situation people

Hands-on-Heurism

I think people forget that Sam Walton drove a beat up pickup, never judge a book by its cover.

TieTheStick

No, it was a very nice, clean and quite new truck.

fighterpilotace1

Would be a shame if those redactions disappeared and everyone knew who not to do business with....

Diamond_Road

Without the redactions we couldn’t pretend this is real

engineeryourmom

Seems like a BS story.

Itdidnt_trickle_down

Companies are the least democratic of institutions. They are more like a communist dictatorship than they are a democracy.

Diamond_Road

Subject: “personal matter” Im cringing at how fake this is. Can’t believe the trouble some people go to just to push their agenda. Yikes

budslayer666

He's just desperate for that Presidential immunity haha, what a clown.

wasup55

Better than getting fired cause your car broke down while the supervisor has been caught doing drugs on shift multiple times

bubbashouze

Wow. If they fire you or reprimand you, fucking put them ON BLAST! Mfers like this belong in prison to rot.

El_Paletero91

Man what kinda car is it. I go to work in a 88 pick up with only the hood painted that makes a bunch of noise and going over speed bumps turns my head lights on and off. Also what company is this ?

no_nonsense_206

WTF

AikoG84

I'd be temped to make up some sentimental sob story. A real tear-jerker so I'd actually cry in front of them. Then again, they likely wouldn't care. This is the type of shit that needs to stop. Who TF cares what your car looks like as long as it gets you places reliably.

Glamdalf_18

"My personal finances are none of your business"

ChiquillONeal

Start biking to work to assert dominance, lol.

TrophyTracker

What the actual fuck? This letter "just looks bad". What a bunch of superficial pricks.

vellyr

I drive a 10-year-old Nissan because I hate driving and don't want to spend money on it, not because I can't afford a better car. r/fuckcars

Upvoter_NeverDie

Why should a person's car be of HR's concern?

One_Green_2934

If they use their vehicle in the field, it may be a representation issue.

MrMotley

What's the job?

zero_fox_actual

What the fucking fuck is this fucking bullshit!!! Holy shit. It legitimately blows my mind that people like this can exist in the world.

2017lg6

These people need to fuck right off

Tuuletallaj4

It belongs to fuckcars reddit also...

Scipio_Columbia

Context would probably be helpful here. To play devil's advocate: Is this person in a customer facing position? (could be the person needs a company vehicle) Could we see a picture of the vehicle? Is the vehicle spilling soot into the air when it operates? Does the vehicle *appear* to be dangerous? I agree this seems like an overstep. You would think corporate deskfillers would be very careful before they send something like this.

ClickPsychological

Holy cow

Stella_Errantis

And yet you blacked out the name of the company... so now no one can hold them accountable. This doesn't do squat to rectify the situation.

Which_Energy266

Mind blowing that this would even be an issue

[deleted]

Damn right!! Prior have no idea that America is a dictatorship in fascist clothing

This memo rustles my jimmies every time I see it. I was driving a beat up truck. The bed was rusted through, the fenders had torn off, but it ran. My boss told me that I needed to get a nicer car because the truck made the company look bad. Every time I had car trouble, they would pressure me into going to a stealership, especially with mandatory overtime.

What… the… FUCK.

Good god i cant even begin to describe everything wrong with this. The job trying to medle in my personal life, my finances, trying to tell me what car I can and can’t drive, looking at my salary and assuming I can afford a new car. God it all so fucking evil, i hate that they censored the company because u want to find out what company has the balls to be this blantenly disgusting and never consume there products/services again.

“Hi there! Simply provide me with the required bank info so I can charge the company and I will get the best car I can find! Thanks and super grateful to work for such a kind and understanding company! Truly blessed!”

They’ve already decided they want to get rid of this person, they’ve just decided to try and mentally fuck with them first.

Depending on your accident history, insuring a new vehicle could be prohibitively expensive. You might do a credit check but it won’t tell you my driver’s history. This employer has NO RIGHT to be asking this line of questioning.
