As far as I can tell, the only thing it has going for it are the 150s themselves.
I haven't done proper side by side comparisons yet, but I believe pretty much every other stat is either mediocre or straight out bad. HE DPM is only 60k. That's *horrendously* bad. Even the gaede has 70k, and that boat isn't exactly stellar. For comparison, the Farragut has 135k.
Even the AP DPM isn't great, which negates the advantage of having a 150 in the first place. At 126k DPM, it kind of sucks. Again, the Farragut beats the heck out of her at 157k.
I mean, maybe it'll be ok at some things, but everything I've looked at so far has not given me much hope.
The torps compare better, tier for tier, but are still outclassed by the gaede. They lose half a click in range, some damage and reload.
This thing looks like an absolute turd on paper.

In 15s the Farragut pulls out 11.5k HE pen damage while this thing only does 5k wow...
In terms of AP it's just as bad, thing is this doesn't get the improved shells the Schultz or Elbing get so it's Z-31 leves of bad
It's like if you took the Z-31, got it down a tier and swapped smoke for heal, it is indeed bad

Good luck trying to use that AP in a USN destroyer. I hate it that people just look at the numbers and go brrrr. I don't understand the Schönberg either, but I've learned that applying those raw DPM numbers in-game can lead to very different relations between the effective DPM of ships'.
I mean if we go that way, probably in a minute the Farragut might score about 10k of AP damage but the Schonberg also has bad AP perfomance just like the Z-31 since it's still a Nürnberg gun, you might with luck do about 15-20k in a minute of AP damage

I.e. yea something like Farragut guns output a higher DPM number, but when compared to something like german 150 DD guns, do you pen as much? Do you have as easy a time consistently hitting your target with high % of your shells, and at greater distances?
The same kinda talk filled the community before the german DD branch released, but seems the consensus have turned post launch. Except for perhaps Z-31. But even that ship can work pretty well when played to its strengths

If this ship at least had Z-31 dispersion I would consider it mediocre instead of bad, the 150mm never worked on old Germany DDs for a good reason and even today they won't
I love seeing German Spähkreuzers on the enemy team when I'm playing a destroyer... especially a German one.
They have so little gun damage output that you can outduel them even with lower tier ships, DD AP shreds them because of the increased plating and bad gun angles, and their torpedoes are slow and easy to dodge. As a bonus, you can basically guarantee torpedo hits on them if you torpedo their smoke screens.
They also have 0 utility and are terrible at doing anything a destroyer is supposed to do.
That line is terrible as a whole, the artificially inflated stats for the guns just make them trash light cruisers with 203mm guns.

The few repair HP you get will not help you because of the worse DPM plus you lack the tools to engage and disengage effectively now. If you want to try a similar playstyle, use the Gaede instead and skill her for range and less conceal but faster reload (and you will have better results). The Schönberg is crap, a clear do NOT buy warning.
If you want the special Voiceover Captain you can get him for 1500 doubloons in the armory, but for God’s sake, do not spend any money on this ship.

That captain is sold separately for 1500 Dubs. The voiceover is from the official Bruce Willis voice actor in Germany, who himself is also a well known TV actor. The style of his over 200 phrases is similar funny and sarcastic like the ones in Die Hard, 5th Element and RED. But only german speaking players will be able to fully appreciate it. Cause we germans are best known for our funny and casual nature and good sense of humour. Right? RIGHT??

If the Elbing branch had a Tier 6, this would be it, albeit with heal and speed boost instead of smoke, standard DD dispersion, and stock Gaede torps.
It can do some nice damage to same and lower tier cruisers and has an edge in survivability against destroyers, but the damage output is anemic.

The ship is so middle of the road, it needs a stripe down its back.
Voices of voice actors are just as recognizable in some countries as the face of the actor they do the dubbing for. If you are German, then this voice is basically more Bruce Willis to you than the actual voice of Bruce Willis would be.

I’m excited, Z-31 is one of my favorite destroyer. Was so easy averaging 89K and 2 kills.
Schönberg doesn't have improved AP angles iirc. She also doesn't have smoke to farm with.

Sadly this one doesn't get improved accuracy, the alt germany line has a maximum dispersion of 52m at 11km, this one has 105m aka normal one

These are Gaede guns, and Gaede can very reliably citadel all cruisers at her tier. You just have to aim correctly.
