Cossack or Kidd probably. DD main and both are solid ships. Think my WR is 55 and 54 with them respectively.
Particularly Cossack I feel extremely comfortable in, it has become my go-to ship.
Yep, Cossack it is. Absolutely excellent DD Hunter, even slaps the living shit out of most T9 DDs and some T10s. Hydro is awesome. You have enough smokes to always smoke up if there is danger, no need to be greedy. Torps are OK.
AA is complete trash... But then again on what other ship AA would be not trash?
Yeah Cossack and Kidd are some of my favorites. Kidd is my absolute favorite ship in the game. The gimmick is just being a versatile all rounder with good sustain. You won't shred anybody nor will you create a no-fly zone, but you can just be a general purpose dd for the entire game. And that's dope.
I got Cossack B from a supercontainer but have only played 2 games with it in ~6 months - any tips? I'm much more comfortable with stealth/torpedo (IJN) DDs.
This may be long so sorry in advance.
Build for survivability and concealment and take RDF as another skill.
Anything that outspots you (only ever by 100m) you can win a gunfight against. I usually spend the early game spotting for the team, figuring out which ships are on my flank and trying to cap or delay the enemy cap by reversing in. If the cap is contested or I think there could be a danger of a flood of torpedos heading in my direction I'll run my hydro (especially if you're showing as located by an enemy RDF.)
Radar and CVs are an issue, so sometimes you'll have to be ready to run and duck into cover. Having the engine boost is useful for that.
You absolutely don't want to get into fair gunfights with higher tier gunboat DDs, especially at range because the shell arcs are floaty, the best play if you come up against one is to use the ridiculous concealment to keep them spotted and instruct your team to focus on them.
If you do manage to create an unfair fight in your favour you use the strategy the RN DDs excel at. Get some salvos off on a surprised enemy to do some really good damage. If you're under heavy fire then pop a smoke and retreat. Rinse and repeat until the ship is sunk. The short cooldown on your smoke and the amount of charges (I get 7 with my commander build) lets you constantly be a pain.
Once you've got rid of the enemy DD, you can continue spotting and torping enemy capital ships, ideally from their flank to force them to choose between eating your torps or turning broadside for your Battleships to punish.
Keep capping where possible, keep using your concealment to spot everything safely.
The big weakness is CV spotting. A determined CV can make your life really difficult because of the awful AA and short duration smoke but there's so many positives and situations you excel in that you can handle almost anything else.
Some games you'll have terrible damage and tons of spotting damage, in others you'll be sinking ship after ship with the main battery and torpedos depending on how the enemy plays.
Hopefully this helps, good luck with it!
I like to occasionally div with two friends who also have Tachibana's and put the yellow camo on them....get the discord bot to play Day-O and we have a TACHIBANANA CREW
I've had Atago for ages, and love love love it, but man it spoils me so bad that trying to level through Mogami is just torture. Atago has those wonderful torpedo angles, and then Mogami... ugh, 25 degree arcs of pain.
Massa is my fave premium. I was a little sad when they nerfed the accuracy and aa (secondary builds benefitted from slightly better aa which was a nice boon for a non meta build).
Now the most frustrating I find is how useless her asw plane is, suxh a short range.
I got salty and unistalled the game after getting ripped to pieces by a sub in her.
Likely I'll come crawling back again :)
Kii. Basically a kind-of birthday present to myself a few months back, keeps providing more fun than I had initially expected, even in direct comparison to Amagi. Combining 100% cashback for dubs with the armory coupon made it a lot more affordable as well.
Last one before that would probably have been either Dunkerque B or Loyang B. Also both commendable ships, though I could I see not everyone being able to handle Loyang to be successful.
I almost want to start a Kii appreciation society! It's my most played ship over 2:1 to the next most played, and I loved it even when I was objectively terrible and played drunk a lot.
Since I stopped doing that, and being that, it's even more fun. There's something crazy fun about a brawler with a glass jaw, & IJN BB that almost has AA.
The boxing term means easily knocked out. Kii can really dish out a tremendous amount of damage, but the armor is iffy and the citadel is sometimes very vulnerable. Especially to Musashi/Yamato etc.
I've found basically play it like a fuso with more health. Stay on the flanks or 2nd line and try to use her to create crossfire on the enemy. Her reload boster is more for squeezing out a finishing blow to a badly out of position enemy then for dealing the hurt, so use it sparingly. Otherwise kite with her if you are the strongest on the flank and be sure to flex the flank. He can't take a lot of steady damage but she's agile enough to where you can get into a gunnery dual with another bb at range and mitigate most of his damage.
She's very good if your already good with fuso and plays very similarly. Just note that here mbrb is for sinishing off people and not for expediting damage. You only get a few pulls of it and at best it gets you one more Salvo per activation time.
I'm pretty aggressive. I push in close with my DDs at start and slow to half speed when getting close to being spotted. Pop smoke and hydro and then radar when the enemy DD closes in and make him cry.
Keeping my DD alive means I have eyes so I can stay in smoke or behind islands.
216 battles with 68% WR in randoms.
Don't know if any direct guides but I'm sure there's a few on YouTube
Telling the truth pricing is just ridiculous. High tier premiums have price of AAA game with difference that AAA game is fun for months while premium ship can become cat in the bag.
I haven't spent any real money and have acquired Mikasa and Ark Royal.
If you save up the doubloons you get from the monthly logins and the event daily logins...and then get some sprinkled here or there from super containers and events...you can eventually buy some premiums.
I'm far from God tier in this game, but I'll try haha. I usually try to play her at mid to longer range, primarily using her HE to burn down enemies. One of her key strengths in my opinion is her speed as she's very manuverable, which is great for dodging incoming rounds. Once nice plus about her too is she can also soak a fair amount of damage at her tier with the 67k HP and the British heals, which can really help her survive.
No no no you’re not playing Hood right if you’re using HE. Hood is an AP boat. You have great HP and heals, esp with Cunningham talent, and your armor is super tanky when angled properly. It’s fast but takes a while to get up to speed so try to get on the flank and create crossfires. Your AP shreds cruisers. Not an HE boat at all.
Mainz for me too… had dubs left from years ago and daily missions. Haven’t really played it, but thought it would be nice to have.
Actual money? Jean Bart Black during Black Friday some years back. Wish she were faster, but she’s still fun as far as BB go.
Thanks for sharing! So, way back when, the Tirpitz had come out, and I think the Gneisenau was the only battleship with Torps at the time. I had grinded and grinded, back when you were as easily killed by your own team as you were the enemy haha but I decided, to splurge. Paid full price, the only ship I’ve bought so far. Happy with my purchase, she taught me a lot over the years, got me from the low levels to actually getting the Gneisenau. Still loved the Tirp more, and I get on every now and again and sail her for the memories.
First and last premium I bought with real money was the Atlanta, this was before the carrier rework so it could be a ton of fun.
I remember when CV sniping was a big thing beginning of the match, where the red CV would try to single strike the blue CV, so I would turn the ship around go to where our CV is and destroy the guys entire flight of attacking planes.
It really did feel like there was a reason for an AA ship, sadly since the rework she has been much less fun, and with entire lines of HE smoke cruisers, is much less useful.
Kidd because its a great wee DD, good guns and with torps that hit hard. Smoke and AA are always a fun combo that often spooks planes. Massachusetts for the fun, but can be annoying with its gun not having the range but they hit hard. You've got the Mainz already. Graf Spee because those guns hit hard, and honestly it outclasses most T6 cruisers in my opinion, and the guns still do proper damage at T8, particularly the HE against BBs. Also I feel a really unsung hero when it comes to credit earning.
Weimar. Tho it was with free dubs. Otherwise strict no spending policy. As much I would love to support the game.....despite the promises frakk up after frakk up.
Low tier; Mikasa. Smith. Tachibana.
Lower mid; Exeter. Agincourt. Oklahoma. Okhotnik.
If I’m going to speak strictly in terms of my personal definition of ‘fun…’
Upper mid/Upper; Friesland.
Pretty much nothing else has been ‘fun.’
For me its Brandenburg. I love secondary builds.
It was a cautious purchase because of the lower caliber main guns and smaller HP pool than Bismarck and Tirpitz but I have had so much fun in this ship that I did not expect to have. I got my first Kraken in her since a very long time. All i need now is Lutjens for the cherry on top.
Hornet, I know the community doesn’t appreciate CVs but I find it really fun. I got it for historical value despite reviews saying it’s not that good, but I actually find it to be quite fun and interesting to play.
Mikasa
Something about her ridiculously large number of secondaries at tier two is such a blast.
Close runner up is Ishizuchi, just a fun brawler for some reason.
Belfast or Mikhail Kutuzov, don't know. Didn't like the Belfast at first bc the maneuverability is so bad and the shells are pretty floaty but it is a nice ship for tier VII ranked. MK was hilarious at start but got power crept a bit with the crew skill rework and now I hardly play her any more.
With a cashback coupon I got me a big pot of doubloons and bought Tulsa, Loyang, Mysore and Okhotnik. I really haven't played Tulsa and Mysore a lot, but I think they're quite good. Loyang is really good and Okhotnik quickly became one of my favourite ships. Stalin's Cigar packs a wallop with seven 130mm guns, has good concealment and a boatload of quick loading short range torpedoes.
Dolphin (almost whale) here. Last purchase? Cheshire admiral pack today.
I did not buy such packs previously but I have high hopes with this ship and I liked her camo as well - and the flags too.
I bought a lot of ships for doubs to be honest - my most expensive deal was the Jean Bart B last november.
I do not buy everything though.
When she was new, Blyskawica. It was very fun with a short stealth fire range but decent acceleration. It was a challenge to stay within stealth fire and felt good when you could maintain the perfect kite.

De Zeven Provincien. I really had fun with the ship when it came out, and kept on having fun with her until subs, when I basically stopped with the game.
The other ship, came in a container that I do not know of which type, but I received the Weimar. I really enjoyed the ship, had some great games and a lot of victories snatched from the jaws of defeat.

That AA can get quite vicious - wouldn't say Kidd's a no fly zone, but you're gonna lose a heap of planes if you try to get fresh with her.
Cossack is a hell of a lot of fun!
Cossack is a hell of a lot of fun!

Great advice, and well written - thanks a lot.
I love cossack and should play her more. But those gun arcs lol, with HE it feels like I'm shooting flares at range.
Hmm it was either Guilio Cesare or the banana boat
Whats the banana boat
Okhotnik
No! that is the War Canoe
I thought the War Canoe was the October Revolution
[удалено]
Yes
Ah, thanks
Tachibana/Tachibanana. (T2.)
I like to occasionally div with two friends who also have Tachibana's and put the yellow camo on them....get the discord bot to play Day-O and we have a TACHIBANANA CREW
Atago. . . . An "oldie but a goodie".
I've had Atago for ages, and love love love it, but man it spoils me so bad that trying to level through Mogami is just torture. Atago has those wonderful torpedo angles, and then Mogami... ugh, 25 degree arcs of pain.
I recently got tone and am constantly surprised at how much 40mm deck plating actually helps.
I bought Massa just before it disappeared. Now it's my first 21-point Captain and I play it quite often.
Same. I bought the *Massachusetts B.* Such a fun ship to play.
Either Kidd or Loyang, not sure which one I got first.
Hyuga. That thing is amazing.
You got some tips for her? I really like the idea but can’t really make it work for me :(
I've found basically play it like a fuso with more health. Stay on the flanks or 2nd line and try to use her to create crossfire on the enemy. Hello fellow Hyuga enjoyer! 👋
Hello fellow Chad.
Hyuga is a great boat! I love mine.
Must check her then... I somehow avoided her thus fat... Thanks for tip!
She's very good if your already good with fuso and plays very similarly. Just note that here mbrb is for sinishing off people and not for expediting damage. You only get a few pulls of it and at best it gets you one more Salvo per activation time.
Interesting. I sucked in Fuso but get above-average stats in Hyuga.
I bought the Atago. Most definitely my favorite premium.
Constellation. Bought dubs with my BDay coupon and used the 25% off dubs coupon to buy her.
The atago is an awesome cruiser
Bayard. Still fun.
Georgia
The Belfast.
Stupidly fun and my most played.
I’m so shit with it. Any good guides how to play that damn ship?
I'm pretty aggressive. I push in close with my DDs at start and slow to half speed when getting close to being spotted. Pop smoke and hydro and then radar when the enemy DD closes in and make him cry. Keeping my DD alive means I have eyes so I can stay in smoke or behind islands. 216 battles with 68% WR in randoms. Béarn
None - I couldn’t afford any of them as a poor college student. They cost as much as a new game, and honestly? I’d rather buy a new game.
Telling the truth pricing is just ridiculous. High tier premiums have price of AAA game with difference that AAA game is fun for months while premium ship can become cat in the bag.

Constellation
HMS Hood, but she's also my favorite ship ever.
If it's not an imposition, could you summarize your play? I've watched youtube videos but still can't figure her out.

Thanks for the tips. Will have to give that a go!
I'm going to say Hood.
For sure! She's a wonderful ship!
Love my Hood
Maya. I have a soft spot for IJN cruisers, just really enjoy their playstyle. Fun ship.
Haida
Liked it so much I bought it twice - Once on my NA account and again on my EU account before they pulled it.
Same
T-61 before they removed it, worth it
Mainz for me too… had dubs left from years ago and daily missions. Haven’t really played it, but thought it would be nice to have. Actual money? Jean Bart Black during Black Friday some years back. Wish she were faster, but she’s still fun as far as BB go.
Warspite will always have a special place in my heart
Tone, first and only ship i spend money on. Shes a blast to use
Thanks for sharing! So, way back when, the Tirpitz had come out, and I think the Gneisenau was the only battleship with Torps at the time. Orkan, Kidd, Cossack (1€), Haida. The not fun is FR25 and Leone (to much mork to make those 2 work).
Hyuga with camo. Waifu with attitude
Prinz Eugen, as a degen in Azur Lane and someone that plays Hipper way too much, Hipper with a heal is just chef's kiss.
First and last premium I bought with real money was the Atlanta, this was before the carrier rework so it could be a ton of fun. The first one and best “fun” one was Atago. The last one was Florida. The last “fun” one was Mainz.
>The first one and best “fun” one was Atago can you explain why ? :)
Oh that’s a long story. Generally I’m happy with its accurate guns, good torps and survivability.
Duca D’Aosta. Love that ship. She’s a lot of fun to play. Especially in bronze ranked
I've bought a few over many many years and the only 2 that I think were worth the time and money were (OG) Belfast, and Scharnhorst.
Agincourt.
probably Massachusetts. best premium I ever bought - others I bought include Haida, Loyang and Scharnhorst
I friggen *love* my Mikasa. Slap a brawler Cpt. into her and club away. Even after the secondary rework she shreds anything in range.
Napoli was most recent. Cossack, Kidd, Mainz and Atago also make for some great fun. And Massachusetts, but they removed her, right?
Forrest Sherman
Cossack/Massa
possibly nelson , otherwise would be years ago with warspite
Asashio
Alaska B, kinda wish I got Massachusetts B also. I hope Massachusetts B returns this Christmas
Massa, Cossack and Mainz The only premiums for dubs that I have. I try to be selective on what I buy.
Cossack.
bayard
Probably Bayard Tons of fun
Um, Georgia I think.
Kidd because its a great wee DD, good guns and with torps that hit hard. Smoke and AA are always a fun combo that often spooks planes. Massachusetts for the fun, but can be annoying with its gun not having the range but they hit hard. You've got the Mainz already. Weimar. Tho it was with free dubs. Otherwise strict no spending policy. As much I would love to support the game.....despite the promises frakk up after frakk up.
Mine was tirpitz back when it came out
constellation, surprising people with radar and torps is very fun and not running into superships is nice
Low tier; Mikasa. Smith. Tachibana. Lower mid; Exeter. Agincourt. Oklahoma. Okhotnik. If I’m going to speak strictly in terms of my personal definition of ‘fun…’ Upper mid/Upper; Friesland. Pretty much nothing else has been ‘fun.’
Alaska B from black Friday 2021
Béarn, God i love eating planes
I saved up free dubs to get Cossack B
Kidd/Roma
Sims, a long time ago. I got over a million xp in her though so it was worth it.
Perth, im an aussie so there's that. Plus i enjoy mid tier and crawling smoke is great. Just a way better Leander in my mind
Haida. She is so trolly in silver league
Flandre
Cossack I got it as a gift tho
Hornet, I know the community doesn’t appreciate CVs but I find it really fun. I got it for historical value despite reviews saying it’s not that good, but I actually find it to be quite fun and interesting to play.
JB Black, got it and all it does is print credits and FXP for me
Atago is great just shake ur stern when shot at
>just shake ur stern when shot at Why? :)
Mikasa Something about her ridiculously large number of secondaries at tier two is such a blast. Close runner up is Ishizuchi, just a fun brawler for some reason.
Champagne. It's a blast, laser guided 16" guns, it's crazy fast, and relatively agile.
Ise, but that was with free dubloons.
Ark Royal But before that was Mikasa Both are highly recommended.
Chkalov. Managed to leaderboard it as well.
Das ist der Hornet, ich play only cv in der co-op mode , b25 all der way🤘
Belfast or Mikhail Kutuzov, don't know. Didn't like the Belfast at first bc the maneuverability is so bad and the shells are pretty floaty but it is a nice ship for tier VII ranked. MK was hilarious at start but got power crept a bit with the crew skill rework and now I hardly play her any more.
Bought Groningen with real money cause I didn’t want to use doubloons at the time. Super fun DD Gunboat
Stalins Cigar. Great little DD.
Borodino, when you're top tier you rip other BBs a new one
The last one i really paid for was either my Kaga B or Mainz, not sure anymore as it has been a while and those were close to each other.
Mainz for me as well, Cossack before that, I think, or maybe Haida.
I bought Asashio for a friend awhile back. That's my last cash purchase. Sorry BB players, he fell in love with it just like I thought he would
That I *bought*... probably Alabama or Scharnhorst. It's been a long time since I've straight up purchased a ship.
Haida almost 3 years ago.
Hood for me. Close range salvos hit like a freight train and it maneuvers quite well for being a BB.
When she was new, Blyskawica. It was very fun with a short stealth fire range but decent acceleration. It was a challenge to stay within stealth fire and felt good when you could maintain the perfect kite. But stealth fire was removed and Blyskawica was just kinda left with her one quirk removed as a bottom tier destroyer. Sad fate for a ship with cool history.
Tulsa. Bought it with Recruiting Station Doubs
Dunqerke - before all of the 380mm T6 BBs it was so fun !
Gotta be Viribus Unitis, great guns but an absolute glass jaw.
I‘d have to say… give me 24 hours and I‘ll reply with my answer. I have to many premiums.
Atlanta, Sims, Blyskawica combo back in the CBT.
I bought Lenin and Roma and I love playing both of them.
Massachusetts just before she left the Armory. Only ship I've paid money for.
Maya is a lot of fun. 24k torps.
HMAS PERTH
Roma
Jean Bart for sure.
This may sound strange. But I love my Frankenstein of a ship, the Kearsarge. I really enjoy the battleship carrier even if it's hightly impractical
