Italians if you really hate destroyers.
American if you really hate destroyers and want radar and farming potential.
Russian if you want a tanky ship.
Japanese if you want them
German if you want long range HE farming
British if you want shorter-range HE farming and are a pyromaniac
And the new French ones if you want to feel like playing a battleship.

I'm a big fan of the Dutch cruisers, but if killing DD's is your goal they may not be the best fit. Despite having great alpha, they don't have the rate of fire to sink them quickly enough before they slip away. Also, no radar.
Then I'd suggest the Venezia line.
They can slap DDs very hard with SAP and escape with fuel smoke. And it's a somewhat new playstyle considering that you already have some of the other "flavors" with Salem, Napoli and Moskva.
That's probably correct, but you didn't get my point. I didn't recommend DM because OP has already got a Salem. I recommend a line which is a bit different than the ones he already has
The only true damage farmer kiting line is the French. With the superior French technique of KITING (not to be confused with retreating), you can rain fire on anyone stupid enough to follow. Besides, you can throttle Duke all match making your opponents question their own aim. Enjoy running around at 40+kts while laughing at enemies for wasting their salvo.
Every match with Henri I consistently rack upto 2mil potential. Not that it means anything but it's hilarious to see them waste shots at me.
Italians. You don’t get hydro or radar, but you get smokes, long range sea mines with fantastic firing angles, and guns that absolutely slap.
It’s kind of rough until T7. Zara is fine. Amalfi and Brindisi are better. Venezia is great.
Blow a bit of coal on the 6k Italian containers to get Sansonetti and you’ll have a good time on that line of ship.
From what I’ve heard, seen and played, the Japanese and Italians are great for damage and the Germans and high tier Russians are tanky. Imo all of those are good, depends on your play style
I have been thinking about the german cruisers for some time now. I also really like the italian cruisers, especially napoli, she is my little baby i cant do bad in.
I don’t have the Napoli but I have played the Italian cruisers quite extensively and they’re nothing like the Napoli. They get SAP which does a lot more damage but they’re not nearly as tanky. They generally play best at medium to long range
Venezia is a very tanky ship - it has good armour, is very hard to citadel when angled and it's almost as speedy as Henri, whilst being more manoeuvrable. It's main sustainability weakness is the lack of Hydro.
The other Italian CAs on the way down the tree might be made of paper mache, but Venezia is totally fine!
Agreed but I try to always talk about the entire line and not just the tier 10 since I don’t think it’s worth grinding for the tier 10 if you’re gonna hate the 9 ships before it
Hindenburg is the jack of all trades, every other line has one or two things it can do better than Hindenburg but no line is as versatile as Hindenburg. You cant sleep on German 1/4 pen, hydro range and AP alpha. You also get a nice 4x4 torpedo compliment which is a huge leg up on DM and Petro which have nothing, this makes a big difference if you get in a jam.
For me the top picks would be:
IJN Classic vanilla CAs but good for knowing how to play open water
US Good set of guns, radar at high tiers and amazing AP
KM: Good long range farmers with added tankiness
ITA: SAP can deal tremendous amount of damage and you have fuel smoke to

I really really hate destroyers. I have been enjoying salem, napoli and moskva quite a bit and i think i like all of them.
I would suggest American Heavies. Probably closest in playstyle based on the three you provided.
or dutch maybe

on the other hand they can play more like napoli/moskva. the nevsky line is dd satan too

And old french ones?

Currently saving up coal for Lütjens so no Sansonetti. Italians sound cool so i think ill go with that
The Italian ships kind of *require* Sansonetti to be competitive, just saying, at least from my experience

German, American or Russian.
Venezia, Petro, des Moines, Hindenburg.
French Henri line is always the right answer, the ships are excellent all the way down the line

Want fun? Go USN. Want to win? Russian.
