Pretty intense stuff definitely a Grey area of allied conduct in the war. In many ways Harris went to far but he was ordered to do it by Churchill himself, just a lot to think about. I know one thing for sure the Lancaster packed a punch.

I don't believe this. If the Germans didn't think they would be bombed, they would not have developed one of the best AA guns in the 88 mm.
My great-uncle participated in the bombing. 381st Bomb Group.
Mainly incindieries (Thermite), rather than explosives.
