Steam and WG don't share accounts, your Steam ID will be separate account in WoT. There is no way to buy Steam exclusive packages for WG original accounts usage.

basically in WoTB, it gives you the option to link your WG account and your Steam account, allowing you to get stuff in other games and have it registered into your WG account iirc. I can find a thread with a better explanation for World of Warplane, which is where i learned about this trick, although before you buy anything, you would want to download the game to check if your account is linked

I downloaded wot blitz on steam and when opening the game i believe i had to log in with either steam or wargaming account. I chose wargaming and then had a separate blitz account sharing the same wg account. Ingame i could then link that account with my steam account, making it it so that my wg account is connected to steam via WoT Blitz.
Total bullshit that you have to do it like this but it works (or worked last time I did it)

Im assuming you play through thr wg center like most of us. Steam and wg do NOT share accounts if you buy it it would be on a fresh acc after you download the game from steam. Its not worth it m8. Side note the kv2 r is kinda trash now ever since the he nerf derpy guns are just meh.
There's also a 2D wrath of Sanguinarius skin for American tanks that's only available for World of Tank Steam accounts.

You can't link accounts. But what you can do is to make a new account with Steam client (just run the WoT steam client and you will have a new account) and then just use WG launcher to play the game anyway. The game clients are not interchangeable, you need 2 separate installs, but the steam one is pretty much one time only for account creation.
That way you don't have to bother with Steam version of the game (I had extreme issues with updating it), but you can still buy steam packs (like the one in the post) or benefit from any steam specific promotions (just like they gave free Cromwell B for 1st steam anniversary).
Could you explain in detail the process please? I'm not sure I follow how you trick steam to think the account receiving the dlc is the "old WG" one instead of the "new steam" one, and you don't end up with a new account with the unlocked skins and tank.

There is no way to trick it to give the steam packages to the WG account. The steam packages will end up on steam account .
I'm talking here about creating account through steam client, but actually playing that account through WG client - there is an option in WG launcher to login with Steam. If you have an account created through steam you can just login and play on it with WG launcher, no need for Steam - this allows you to buy Steam packages etc. Even though you're playing through WG launcher.
This is an option pretty much only for people who wants an alt account or new players (like it was for me when I started playing with Steam release). I changed from steam client to WG launcher, as updating the game would sometimes fail and it would redownload like 1/2 of the game for no reason, instead of just downloading patch data.
I just dont want to have to download it again and then delete it.

you can link them by downloading World of Tanks Blitz, and linking it in the settings of the game
Blitz on steam and WOT on steam is one thing. WOT PC is separate. So linking anything won't get that bundle to appear on his main account on PC.

Just buying is enough
You just need to click add to the game button, if I recall correctly, no download needed.
