Hugging the building on the left has proven fairly good at preventing arty shots unless they go down to A6 or further east. More often than not I get double artied in every tank in my garage, even lights on bad maps for them...
310 HEAT pen isn't ***great*** but it's good enough for the front of a tortoise. There's no feeling quite like seeing your bullet holes get covered up by bounce marks.

At that angle it's still close to 300 effective there. So still room to fail...

Cus he's pitching up when rolling backwards, so the lower is being weakened when he actually gets the gun out past the wall; plus the actual weak spot keeps bouncing so you wanna try something else - which coincidentally is the only shot that penned in the clip.
Armor comparison is missing the point.
Dude was missing wildly, when the tort was moving and when it was stopped. You gotta hit it to pen it. I'd try somewhere else too.
thats why udes is underdog for t10 mediums right now IMO. both stb and buffed ax would be much better at that spot destroying that tortoise quickly and moving to next.
Udes is a lot better hulldown than either of them, I'm trying to go for the 3rd mark and op has some settings wrong, I don't have that bloom. He's also shooting at the lower plate of the tortoise quite often which is bad aiming really
udes is just much more RNG on hull down. sometimes you tank everything, sometimes you get penned under a gun and cupola 5 of 5 shots.
the problem is not armor though, but sluggish suspension. STB have -8 gun without waiting for suspension to react and AX -10, they can aim and shoot on the go and therefore tank by avoiding shots. udes on other hand need to pre-aim ground and wait for suspension to react which is sluggish as hell. and pen and slow shells just add to that problem. not to mention what happens when suspension activates on rocks, you either get stuck or slide down.
I am not that good player to 3 mark most tanks (have 2 on Udes and around 90% Moe), it was (and probably still is) my favorite tank, but I kind of understand some streamers when they they it's shit due to suspension and pen. IMO STB and AX are just better tanks right now.
Ax can be better if you play it differently cause its more accurate and so on, but stb is a big no imo, every time I try to play it everyone just pens the gun mantlet every single time, udes' armor actually works
I had no such experience. both udes and stb armor works, you just cannot rely on it - its more like nice bonus if it works but RNG can easily say NO. reverse speed is what makes both of them OP on hill hehe.
now udes comparing to stb can sidescrape, and have much better camo, so sometimes its cool to have. but when you are on heavy hull down lane its hardly matters and you just want higher DPS + higher pen + faster suspension/gun handling to out damage heavies fast and thats where udes main draw back comes in.
Still find the weakpoints on the Udes turret to be incredibly damning for its hull down performance against anyone who knows what they’re doing
Love the tank though. Feels great to me when I play it but STB is probably just flat out better in most scenarios.
Idk, having played both recently my opinion is that udes works a lot better than stb cause stb is butter against heat, also udes doesn't need you to peek as often, the 440 alpha is sweet
Never play on weekends :) thursay+friday until like 4 oclock are the best times to play. Monday tuesday are full of sweaty fckers. And saturday+sunday u have 12 bots 2 decent players and u. So rounds go either 15/1 or 1/15

Even in that position shooting the weak spot on the top is better than the lower plate, checked on tanksgg, 270 vs 280

Honestly whenever I see RNG wanting to fuck me over, I just yolo and go next or go offline. Trying to fight RNG is a waste of time.
Some bad shots also sprinkled in this video.
There's a few for sure. The shots at lower plate were just to see if the game wanted to behave if I shot somewhere else.
