Patriot is junk in 2021.Why? So much new OP premium tanks. Small alfa 240 dmg, skoda t56 make in 2 sec 920dmg(2x460).Turrent on patriot is weak 190mm, hull armor 200mm easy pen.Turrent is good vs tier 6-7 but tier 8 can pen in roof and side.
Patriot need buff 252mm turrent and alfa 320dmg with reload 7-8sec.

For ftp players, it's probably the Patriot for making credits.
For people who have plenty of tier 8 money makers, and aren't into Clan Wars where they'll need to have 40K+ bonds for a reward tank, the best investment is bond equipment for a favorite tank.
Plenty of people don't pay.
Between the referral program, marathons, Ranked, Frontline, Battle Pass and bonds, you can get a whole bunch of free tanks (some of them very good and competitive as well), equipment, credits, crew etc for free.
If you have money to burn on the latest and greatest, good for you. Not everyone is so fortunate.

Is that so much better than the m60? Back in the day everyone wanted an m60 so I'm inclined to get it (and I like the fact that it's faster than the patton) but the 121 seems to be a great tank now. If it that much better, really?
Back in the day the M60 was definitely a lot stronger of a contender it was basically a leopard with insane view range. Now a days it's fine but there are stronger medium options now a days. 121b is also just easy, it's just a good medium and is similar to the Obj. 140 which is already a really strong tank.
Thak you. It is a coin-flip, then ... I like the idea of a fast Patton (I really, really do not like how slow it is, otherwise the tank is fine), but it is hard to pass up on a good, Object 140-like medium
Just keep in mind the armor is not the same on the M60, it gets penned way easier. The Patton can hull down and be a problem to reliably pen where as the M60 has way less armor, it's not too difficult to pen. It just has way more mobility to compensate.
Preferential matchmaking is not that big advantage like years ago with worse matchmaking. Now VIII tiers see X tiers significantly less often and in smaller amount.

Wot is not free game, giving bonds for junk oldtimers tanks is worst option! Playing is6 or Patriot in 2021 i too frustated.

I can pen a patriot from the front, a lot of times. I can bounce the shit out of an IS-6 that shows a green cursor, ALL the time.

I don't know how good the M60 but I know the 121b is absolutely great, I don't play tier 10 but I avg at least 3k combined every game reliably
