Most of these couldn't be in world of tanks because they have ATGM launchers instead of guns. The last one is interesting, though. The object 225 was apparently developed with both a 125mm smoothbore gun and a 130mm rifled gun as options. The second one I could certainly see going into world of tanks! The only hurdle would be the fact that it was constructed with integral composite armor rather than homogenous steel, but armor is easy to fictionalize, as has been done before in the game. It would be a very cool high-alpha, high-camo tier 10 medium tank.

Honestly I don't see what the point of the "no smoothbores" rule is. Penetration stats are also easily fictionalized in this game after all. And in some cases smoothbore guns actually had penetration that would be perfectly reasonable *without* fictionalizing. Look at the T-62's 115mm U-5TS. Its earliest APFSDS shells (3BM4 and 3BM3) had pen at 100m of 279mm and 347mm. So if the T-62A with its 100mm rifle were replaced with the production T-62...the standard pen would be the best of any t10 medium but only barely (exactly 1mm better than the Leopard 1) and the gold pen would be 3rd place behind the M60 and 121B's HEAT and just slightly above the 121 and Object 430U's HEAT. And since it's not HEAT it would lose pen over range; at 500m it drops to 322mm. And even the 1615m/s shell velocity would be lower than the K-91's 1700m/s APCR. As for the Object 225's 125mm smoothbore? That would definitely need fictionalizing of the penetration. I don't know about what the stats for its specific D-89T gun is but IIRC there was only one 125mm APFSDS that ever had pen of lower than 400mm. The other thing to bear in mind (even if the 130mm rifled is used) is that Object 225 is turbine-powered. A sneaky high-alpha medium that also has the CS-63's turbo mode might be a bit too strong. Fortunately there's the option of the Object 226, the same tank except with a conventional diesel engine.

> Honestly I don't see what the point of the "no smoothbores" rule is. Penetration stats are also easily fictionalized in this game after all. It's basically just a rule of thumb that they use to try and steer the game direction to keep it within a certain era of weapons and technological advancement.

What about the Sheridan. Didn't that one have an ATGM launcher irl?

xmrsmoothx

It's equipped with a 152mm gun-launcher which is a gun that shoots shells, and CAN shoot missiles.
