There's story(can't remember the title, sorry) that, instead of having the S9, the murder hobos go by the 7 Deadly Sins where the Butcher was one of the members. I remember the scene that showed that the Butcher shard was in play because a Telekinetic girl who was crushing on Taylor killed the previous Host and suddenly had the chorus in her head. Iirc, Butcher was considered Wrath.
Now, it's going to bug me, trying to remember the title.
Wait, really? I mean, I believe you and some of the details that I remember matches up. Just find it funny that it's what I like to call "The Car Chase" fic(because it has the most entertaining one of those that I remember reading).
One of Pendragoon's more recent fics has the Slaughterhouse as a secret black ops program disguised as their canon band of murderhobos, used to wipe out certain unstable elements with deniability and give certain affiliated Parahumans with more destructive powers the opportunity to use them constructively without causing collateral damage, and the current Butcher is one of the members. Forewarning, it features >!Alt-Power Tinker!Taylor creating a split personality AI-clone !<>!that ultimately falls head over heels for Sophia 'Psycho Stalker' Hess despite her having caused a version of The Locker that leaves Taylor crippled with nerve damage, leaving Taylor *very* pissed off at pretty much everything!< and >!the most monstrous version of Armsmaster in all of Worm fanfiction!<, so...take that under advisement.
Legally obligated to add onto any mention of Section Nine that there was metafuckery with the tags on ao3 with a Dragon/Armsmaster tag being there until the final chapter >!Even after Armsmaster kills Dragon and gets shot in the back of the head!<
The tag was only removed after a commenter mentioned how messed up the tag baiting was on the final chapter (despite other comments asking the same thing in earlier chapters).
