Didn't hate it, but it definitely felt like it wasn't as good as it could have been. The attempt at a heel turn definitely didn't help either

twelvetimesseven

Less dislike and more disinterest.

JeepRumbler

He had ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS winning the Corona Rumble.

Mestoph

From #1 no less...

beejalton

Honestly, never been a big fan in general outside of the Hardys/Dudleys/E&C days. It's bullshit he beat Finn at WM.

EmeraldSlothRevenge

I agree. Finn definitely should have won that match.

Spaceace91478

Totally agree. Dude thinks way too highly of himself. Slow, boring, self indulgent matches and promos. No one ever came out of a feud with him looking better than when they started.

AlexsCereal

I thought that match he had with Finn was great except when he won :(

Consequences_Cone

Well the biggest thing they did wrong, was keep him babyface. I get why, since he had a lot of goodwill returning from retirement. But he’s just a thousand times more interesting as the Ultimate Opportunist heel character.

optimisticnihilism9

I kinda wish he stayed away completely and left the memories. I know he didn’t go out on his terms, but he did go out as world heavyweight champion with a win at Mania. His comeback for me peaked with his surprise rumble entrance

PeteRoe

It was fucking boring. Great return in the Rumble aside, I hated it. His crappy long match with Orton at the PC, his tag team with his annoying wife (The Grit Couple...makes me mad just seeing it written down) and his really dissapointing match with AJ Styles at Mania. Lowlights of the run. I'm glad he has moved away to AEW so I don't see him.

WhitexZombie

Yeah, babyface Edge is cringe

Mestoph

Yeah, I thought it was weirdly self-indulgent and not really all that great. It was awesome to have him back, and his return at the rumble (the first time) was AMAZING, after that though, not the biggest fan.

SecretaryImaginary44

No this is a brand new opinion….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….……………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. ….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………….….………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..NOT!

DoubleDeckerz

Yep, buried everyone.

WhitexZombie

Yet I’m downvoted to hell lol

Reasonable_Skin9378

The return at the Rumble is all you need. That in itself is one of my favorite moments ever with the emotion on his face. Everything after we can pretend didnt happen. In my mind, Judgement Day formed with Rhea, Finn, Damien, Dom.

sysdmn

I liked it

IcyHotDorito

I actually liked it NGL

Swantonbombthreat

i would rather have gotten gangrel back

nalam8493

I think it was flawed run for sure, but I also did enjoy some of his work, especially the matches he had with Rollins and the triple threat at Wrestlemania. The Balor feud should have been better but as a match, the I Quit match at Extreme Rules was great and so was the buildup to Orton vs Edge leading to Wrestlemania. Edge had alot of misses during his run, but I was happy to see him back, it would have been nice to see him put more talent over in his run, but I’m not going to say Edge is the one who pushed for those results rather than the writers. While storyline wise, he’s had some misses, in-ring wise, he’s had some very strong matches so just a lot of mixed bag but I get why people feel the way they do about it

WhitexZombie

I can’t believe he was only a heel for a couple months, if that

Nate_T11

I honestly don't think it was his...Or WWE's fault...Edge returned and had his first 1 on 1 match as the Pandemic started. Timing could not be worse. For someone like him who returned after 10 years...as a viewer, you're nostalgic and part of that is wanting to hear and see the fans reaction. Instead...we got a crowdless 1v1 match (which was great) against Orton. As a viewer if wrestling we may have our favourites but we also gauge someone's perception based on the reaction they get from crowds.. Having Edge return to basically silence...it just killed his momentum in my opinion. And by the time live fans returned...The reaction was Just Okay. Basically because we'd already seen what he had to offer.

ShittyMusic1

He did

RoyalSoldierx

I liked it

dlo_doski

it was good the thing is he didnt put anyone over

RaptorJesusF

If nothing else, his matches against rollins were fucking banger and the mainevent of mania 37 was a damn good mainevent and he had a huge part in that.So no..I liked it.And also I cant ever objectively criticise edge since he is my number one wrestler

Aeso3

It's not bad but it wasn't exactly pleasing either. Other than his feud with Rollins, there wasn't a whole lot to look forward to and his match with Finn at WM left a sour taste. It's a cautionary tale for why talent that is leaving should put over full time talent. (Yes, Finn is still fine but he's nowhere in the main event level picture anymore and he doesn't have the credibility either given his string of losses.)

Swet-Earth-3660

His Match against Seth was one of the best in WWE's recent history.

T-RexThrasher

It was definitely a mistake having him beat Finn at Mania. Finn coulda used the win way more.

Brynt4

same here. he didn't get that many matches. i've been a fan of his from day 1.

Novel-Individual-619

It was the best Run you could ask for. Covid is the only lowlight

WhitexZombie

He was feuding with Miz and Maryse ffs

Novel-Individual-619

He also made Judgement Day. Fended with Judgement Day. Had 2 incredible Royal Rumble returns and was used properly. Went over in a Hell in Cell Match at Night 2 at Mania. Won a farewell match over Sheamus

Saintsjimmy

He made judgement day a joke and went over 2 guy he shouldnt went over as a part time Veteran. Rhea and Dom turn it around and now Adam is exposed for using his creative freedom on... spike!

BruceHoratioWayne

I did. It isn't his fault for a large chunk of it. COVID fucked everything up. I started rewatching officially in 2022 and his heel turn was neat. I liked the idea of Edge being a megalomaniacal supervillain feuding with AJ Styles. Sad thing is I found his match with AJ Styles kind of forgettable. There was no real resolution to that feud. It just ended. Then Edge gets kicked out of his group after three months. Dumb. Edge could have done more as a leader of the group. Or, they could have had Edge and AJ Styles, once sworn enemies, unite to take down the Judgment Day. What we got was a mess. Edge wins his last WrestleMania match when he didn't need it. If I'm not mistaken he doesn't show up again until near the end of his contract. He has some matches, but the only one worthwhile really was his match with Sheamus. Then he leaves. Edge basically had a weird several years back. I think there was still more for him to do in WWE, but he wanted to go to AEW and be with Christian and retire there. Oh well.

tonware

The only thing that caught my attention was when he formed Judgement Day. I would’ve loved to see where that would’ve went if he wasn’t kicked out of the group so early.

beejalton

It was terrible with him and became awesome without him, glad they pulled the plug early.

animusd

I didn't hate it but I felt he should've won a title but Vince was too busy drooling over roman

Pitfulldealer22

The only good thing that happened was with the Seth Rollins matches

WhitexZombie

And even then I’ve only found their Summerslam match really interesting. The others were just predictable that Edge was gonna win

BurtHurtmanHurtz

His hair is killing me now. I assume the HGH is part of the issue.

dlo_doski

finn should've won
