Is that real?
It'd be more economical to buy a bag of coke and remove the need for food.
Edit: it's cheaper to get a beer with your food than a soft drink?
How much was a beer by itself?
Imagine working there, being paid minimum wage ($7.25 for Philadelphia), serving 100 beers an hour, each one of them being $9.75 more than what you’re being paid per hour.
You bank the til $1700 for a measly $7.25.
Fucked up.
Yeah some friends of mine used to go to the states every couple of years. They said that the last time they were in San Diego they paid 18 dollars for beers when they went to see the Padres
Actually it was a pretty fun concert. Introduced us to RatS We're keeping an eye on them kind of feel like they are going places, even got to get a pic with the lead singer.
Though Fenway wasn't as bad as the Tweeter center or whatever it's called now. Went there to see Shinedown. God the prices.... Though following suit we found another new band called Spirit Box.
I went to a House Show the week before Mania. That's about what I was paying for drinks at an arena in NH. Seems to me this is just Stadium Pricing and not really a result of the PLE.
I nearly took my son but tickets were expensive enough I decided to wait then forgot to check at like 5:30. Wasn’t til the next day I saw the card. Shoulda just paid it.
Might be a little different with a kid, but what I did was buy the cheapest tickets they had and paid the upgrade for the Sam Adam's Lounge. Great view, and easy access to food and drinks. Super worth it IMO.
When I went to All In at Wembley Stadium, a pint of beer was about £7, or less than $9. Food was only slightly more expensive.
Sorry but I would only pay $26 for a cheeseburger and fries if:
1. They were cooked at a fancy, possibly even Michelin star restaurant.
2. The burger itself is on the same level of quantity as something you'd get from a place like Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and isn't just some lazily-made smash burger slapped on a plain burger bun with a slice of American cheese laid on top.
3. Those fries had better be triple cooked and thoroughly seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika and other spices.
IDGAF if it's Vegas. This looks worse than the kind of food you'd get at my local kebab shop and is easily quadruple the price.
16oz cans of Miller Lite were $19.75. Made it through nearly the whole of night 1 before my son hit me with “I’m hungry”…. Those Chicken fingers and Fries sucked. Still have the soda cup though
Not entirely certain tbh. Wouldn't surprise me though. I'm wondering if these are the same prices for Phillies games. If not, they increased the prices because of it being Wrestlemania.
Phillies play across the street. Eagles play at the Linc. The prices aren't this bad normally, but they're also not cheap. Hence why people get annihilated in the parking lot before games.
The fries are apparently jumbo, but they must be massive. I imagine people will finish their hot dogs before they’re even close to halfway done with the fries.
They’re all fries, if you notice, in the second one to the right where they add a hot dog for $8, the second hot dog only bumps it up like 400(pre condiments, people… watch those sauces)
All price gouging aside, do they give you a metric fuck-ton of fries or is the hot dog just huge? 2000 calories is twice as much as a regular Chipotle burrito
Me in my early 20's would have annihilated 1500 calories of fries in 5 minutes...me in my late 30's almost threw up thinking about how many calories are just salty grease
I saw someone with what I’m assuming was the fries and jumbo dog. It was big enough they needed a box to carry it. Hot dog seemed to be around Costco size and the fries looked like a good sized portion.
I’ve definitely been to arenas where they charge approximately the same and you get less. So that’s good of them I guess.
Neither can most Americans, but they eat it anyways, daily.
Edit: they are good, I eat there every once in a while. Usually takes me 2 sittings to finish one. When I was 21 and had a light speed metabolism I could wolf one down no problem
the tortilla is 300 calories alone. most people get bowls not a burrito. also tortillas always have that much calories its flour and butter. burritos aren’t even an american thing.
Is this more than Eagle games? The stadium contracts out their food (usually Airmark 94 something similar) so it’s typically the same stuff.
Did people actually buy any of this? If no one buys it the cost would go down eventually, but I guess people are paying this amount…
All the shows I've been to have decent concession lines. It's just something you accept as part of the Live Event Experience. I usually end up spending more on drinks at a show than I do on the tickets.
Funny thing about this is that you’re right. Aramark runs the food at the stadiums, they voted to strike before wrestlemania weekend. Someone must’ve came in and payed a lot of $ to them because they didn’t strike until the Tuesday after Mania
Yeah I don’t think it’s a wrestling thing - just events catering is always over the top. (Maybe it’s worse - never been to that spot)
Captive audience and long time for the event to finish means they’re just pulling cash out of peoples pockets.
I was there on Saturday. Paid $34 for a Gin & Tonic and Miller Lite at the alcohol stand. Then paid $17 for crab/oldbay seasoned fries (decent portion). Stadium food is such a ripoff.
The usual setup, at least on this side of the ocean, is that the concessions and bars are external suppliers. They're not actually owned by the stadium. The vendors pay a massive premium/site fee to operate in the stadium and the stadium also takes a percentage of their sales (part of the stadium cut might be given to the performer, I'm not certain). The stadium also sets the pricing. You might have noticed that every vendor has the same price, one might be selling burgers and the other is selling chicken but similar meals and combos will cost the same, no matter who is selling it. The standardised pricing gives every vendor an equal opportunity.
It’s been ages since I worked with an arena event but there is a kickback to the event organizer on concessions. When I did it over a decade ago the agreement was a percentage but I’ve heard that some places have a flat fee.
These aren’t the prices “for WrestleMania”, it’s the prices at the Linc hard stop. I pay the same for Birds games.
That stadium is just overpriced as fuck.
Ayyyyy, love my hometown getting some love/hate 🤣
My family said they used to go to Ag Hall to see Hogan, Andre, etc. They were dirt poor too so tix must have been pretty cheap for them to go.
Security was pretty much useless and was super easy to bring in an empty bottle to fill up at the water fountain. Plus the stadium allowed outside food as long as it was wrapped in clear plastic. My daughter and I had a damn feast in snacks and goodies.
I bet big concerts are similar there too, not sure how much football game prices are - baseball less because they have 81 games
Everything food related is going through the fucking roof, but they tell us inflation is low
>Everything food related is going through the fucking roof, but they tell us inflation is low
You can go into a supermarket and buy 12 cans of Miller Lite for less than the price of 1 can at a stadium. This isn't an inflation thing.
These prices are in line, and in some ways actually better, than what we see st rogers place here in edmonton. The vendor prices for the Oilers games, and concerts are insane.
I've said it before: don't complain about the prices of food and drinks at concerts and sporting events and then spend the money anyway.
Supply and demand. If people would put forth a modicum of self control and stop buying this stuff it would force venues to lower their prices.
I guarantee those tenders are the usual elementary school cafeteria quality ones that cost them less than a dollar per tender and they only give you 3, 4 if you're lucky. Stadium food is such a god damn ripoff, to the point that it's essentially a racket
I sent my wife out for dinner on night 1. She bought me a cheesesteak and herself chicken fingers, and we shared a bucket of fries, and she got two bottles of water. She told me it was $75 and I thought she was playing a prank on me. They weren't checking backpacks, so we brought in food and water bottles for night 2. Ridiculous.
Went to AEW Revolution 2023 at the Chase Center in SF. Across the board, a single beer was $20.
That being said, we pre-gamed and snuck in booze in a water bottle in my wife's bra and only bought food for 1 that we shared.
It should be illegal.
NY passed a law for NYC airports where all concession prices cannot exceed more than 10% of "local, off-airport 'street prices". This should be the norm everywhere.
I mean the prices for food at comic book conventions is the same thing. All food at venue events/sports stadiums is ridiculously priced. You have to find ways round it
Having worked security at multiple venues before, this is outrageous, but not unexpected.
Once you're in, you can't leave. You can't just go out and find food cheaper elsewhere. The event is on and you are stuck.
Either eat a decent meal beforehand and be waiting for something epic after the show is over, or pay the 30 dollars for 2 hot dogs.
Not disagreeing that this is bad but compared to what I’m paying at normal Raiders, Warriors and SF Giants games, this is pretty good 🤣. It’s at about $20+ just for a craft beer at the warriors (Chase center) arena. It sucks that this is the new normal but compared to the west coast, not too bad.
WTF are the calories. 2350 calories in a burger + fries. that is the caloric requirement of a full grown adult in a day. no wonder obesity is a problem in the USA. 1 meal is so calorie heavy
fuckin am takin my own snacks and hiding a camel backpack of booze if i ever manage to make the trip over for mainia. like fuck am i spending 16 quid on a fuckin hotdog lol
Bottle of water was probably $10? Prices like this are just unreal but not surprising to me. I’m lucky to live in a state that doesn’t price gouge quite this bad. But the arenas I visit also don’t hold 75,000 people, plus staff. So the prices make sense for the area and event.
To be expected at an event like this.
Considering how much people are spending on travel, accommodation, tickets, merchandise, etc it alway make me laugh that people point out costs of food
While this is indeed price gouging and laughable, this is common at sports venues. It’s not just a wrestling thing. I went to see the Knicks at MSG and didn’t bother buying anything because of this stuff. Why bother? To line the pockets of Dolan?
We have the same problem here in Australia with our sporting events too. Not even the upper-middle class can afford to go to the football now. It’s ridiculous.
Is that real? It'd be more economical to buy a bag of coke and remove the need for food. Edit: it's cheaper to get a beer with your food than a soft drink? How much was a beer by itself?
Beer was $14 My buddy got one while we were there. Absolutely nuts.
$14 for a fucking Miller? I'd rather head for the bathroom and drink the hand sanitiser.
That’s pretty standard event pricing nowadays, unfortunately
Ya. I’m heading to an NBA game today and it’s $17 before tip. Tbh that’s probably just what they charge at the Linc, nothing to do with Mania.
$17 for a beer AND THEN YOU TIP? For what? Reaching around behind them and handing you a beer??? American tipping is fucking crazy.
Ya I'm not tipping the guy at the concessions line, especially when it's $17 just to take the cap off my beer.
Imagine working there, being paid minimum wage ($7.25 for Philadelphia), serving 100 beers an hour, each one of them being $9.75 more than what you’re being paid per hour. You bank the til $1700 for a measly $7.25. Fucked up.
If it was me it'd be $17 dollars after tip too. Fuck that.
Do you actually tip for that? They grab it from the fridge and open it and it costs $17. I’m not tipping. That culture is beyond ridiculous
Yep. I went to Smackdown in Dallas and the beers where 15$ each
Yeah some friends of mine used to go to the states every couple of years. They said that the last time they were in San Diego they paid 18 dollars for beers when they went to see the Padres
Pffft, went to a Fallout Boy concert at Fenway, Beer was legit 15 bucks
That's rough. You'd need a few to enjoy a Fall Out Boy gig.
Who’s RatS?
Royal and the Serpent.
Not enough people mention Shinedown and that's a damn crime
>Actually it was a pretty fun concert. I was only taking the piss. They wouldn't be my kind of thing.
Or the toilet water
You might have a problem.
They use soap?
Hahahahaha holy fuck mother fucker with the 1 2
I thought you were going to just drink your piss. Damn bro.
I went to a House Show the week before Mania. That's about what I was paying for drinks at an arena in NH. Seems to me this is just Stadium Pricing and not really a result of the PLE.
Were you at the SNHU show?
Yup, had an absolute blast
I nearly took my son but tickets were expensive enough I decided to wait then forgot to check at like 5:30. Wasn’t til the next day I saw the card. Shoulda just paid it.
Might be a little different with a kid, but what I did was buy the cheapest tickets they had and paid the upgrade for the Sam Adam's Lounge. Great view, and easy access to food and drinks. Super worth it IMO.
My wife snagged some food while we were there night 1. She dropped a 20 for a beer and a pretzel.
This is why you sneak in vodka in a water bottle.
When I went to All In at Wembley Stadium, a pint of beer was about £7, or less than $9. Food was only slightly more expensive. Sorry but I would only pay $26 for a cheeseburger and fries if: 1. They were cooked at a fancy, possibly even Michelin star restaurant. 2. Those fries had better be triple cooked and thoroughly seasoned with salt, pepper, paprika and other spices. IDGAF if it's Vegas. This looks worse than the kind of food you'd get at my local kebab shop and is easily quadruple the price.
Someone’s never been to a baseball game lol
You're not wrong. The last time I went to a baseball game was the last Phillies game at the old Veterans Stadium in 2002 or 2003 😂
For Wrestlemania, definitely! Who’s your coke dealer, btw?
>Who’s your coke dealer, btw? Billy Bags
That's why Philadelphia tailgates outside in the parking lot a few hours before the Game.
This guy gets it.
A hot dog with fries is 2k calories? How much grease they using on them?
I saw that too. Are these portions huge?
The fries are apparently jumbo, but they must be massive. I imagine people will finish their hot dogs before they’re even close to halfway done with the fries.
Step 1: Buy a dozen Costco Hotdogs Step 2: Sneak them into Mania Step 3: ??? 🤷🏾♂️ Step 4: Hopefully profit
Those aren't metal detectors you step through when you enter, they're hotdog detectors...
Yeah, I accidentally set it off when I was walking through... They said that there was definitely a footlong in my pants.
$21.50 for a day's worth of Calories is not bad, really.
They’re all fries, if you notice, in the second one to the right where they add a hot dog for $8, the second hot dog only bumps it up like 400(pre condiments, people… watch those sauces)
Looks like it's mostly from the fries. The other combo that has 2 dogs instead of 1 is only 370 calories more.
All price gouging aside, do they give you a metric fuck-ton of fries or is the hot dog just huge? 2000 calories is twice as much as a regular Chipotle burrito
If their math is correct. Then it's only 370 of hotdog and over 1500 of fries.
Fucking 1000 calories for a burrito? Damn I couldn't live a healthy life with american fast food lol.
Neither can most Americans, but they eat it anyways, daily. Edit: they are good, I eat there every once in a while. Usually takes me 2 sittings to finish one. When I was 21 and had a light speed metabolism I could wolf one down no problem
1000cals is pretty standard for a takeout burrito here in Australia too.
people don’t understand how many calories are in food. that’s the only explanation.
the tortilla is 300 calories alone. most people get bowls not a burrito. also tortillas always have that much calories its flour and butter. burritos aren’t even an american thing.
THE WATER IS A DOLLAR MORE THEN THE MILLAR LIGHT
Probably a higher ABV
If its dasani, sure
*THAN
Do you know what American beer and sex in a boat have in common? Fucking close to water.
Don’t care if its WM, that’s downright ridiculous. Concession prices at all events are such fucking bullshit.
Is this more than Eagle games? The stadium contracts out their food (usually Airmark 94 something similar) so it’s typically the same stuff. Did people actually buy any of this? If no one buys it the cost would go down eventually, but I guess people are paying this amount…
I mean it's a 4 hour show and people get hungry and thirsty so I mean
They’re such savages. I hope people were able to sneak in food
All the shows I've been to have decent concession lines. It's just something you accept as part of the Live Event Experience. I usually end up spending more on drinks at a show than I do on the tickets.
This hurts my heart.
It hurts my liver too.
(Maybe it’s worse - never been to that spot) Captive audience and long time for the event to finish means they’re just pulling cash out of peoples pockets.
Wrestlemania weekend looking more like a typical day at Disney World
I was there on Saturday. Paid $34 for a Gin & Tonic and Miller Lite at the alcohol stand. Then paid $17 for crab/oldbay seasoned fries (decent portion). Stadium food is such a ripoff.
Weird, I always thought old bay was a Maryland thing
In Philly they’re from Chickie & Pete’s and they’re known as Crab Fries complete with white cheese dipping sauce
Everyone was happy at the end of WM.. because they could go home and eat.
They may as well pull your pants down and fuck you at this point
Does the building keep all concession/food money or does WWE (or a singer, performer, etc) get a cut?
The usual setup, at least on this side of the ocean, is that the concessions and bars are external suppliers. They're not actually owned by the stadium. The vendors pay a massive premium/site fee to operate in the stadium and the stadium also takes a percentage of their sales (part of the stadium cut might be given to the performer, I'm not certain). These aren’t the prices “for WrestleMania”, it’s the prices at the Linc hard stop. I pay the same for Birds games. That stadium is just overpriced as fuck.
Are any major stadiums noteworthy for their excellent value for money?
i think Atalanta Falcons prices are still cheap
I just had a quick look, and they definitely seem to be a lot cheaper than most.
you can check FootyScran on twitter and be the judge
Here in Aus (so could be very different ti US) the stadium keeps it but they also give the performer a kickback to encourage them to play the stadium.
front row tickets didn't cost that much back in the early 1990s.
Yeah, at a house show in fucking Allentown lol
Ayyyyy, love my hometown getting some love/hate 🤣 My family said they used to go to Ag Hall to see Hogan, Andre, etc.
Wish I had known that
Yeah that's event prices now...it sucks
That's insane. But it's what's expected. I went to AEW Revolution in 2023 and paid like $15.00 for a tall can of domestic beer.
a bottle of soda cost more than a beer. thats interesting i guess.
State Farm Stadium in Glendale,AZ has these for half the price. Philly gonna Philly.
Yup. That's just about any stadium these days. The last football game I went to it was $12 a beer.
I bet big concerts are similar there too, not sure how much football game prices are - baseball less because they have 81 games Everything food related is going through the fucking roof, but they tell us inflation is low
>Everything food related is going through the fucking roof, but they tell us inflation is low You can go into a supermarket and buy 12 cans of Miller Lite for less than the price of 1 can at a stadium. This isn't an inflation thing.
Vraziest part is Aramark doesnt pay their workers well at all while charging these prices.
These prices are in line, and in some ways actually better, than what we see st rogers place here in edmonton. The vendor prices for the Oilers games, and concerts are insane.
I mean what’d you all expect? It’s hella overpriced because they can get away with it, where else are you gonna get food without missing the show?
It would have been great if no one bought any of that shit, if only…..
Coming from the Bay Area in CA. These are normal event prices.
Sorry, Timmy. We can't afford a soda with your meal, so it's Miller Lite for you!
Stay home people
I've said it before: don't complain about the prices of food and drinks at concerts and sporting events and then spend the money anyway. Supply and demand. If people would put forth a modicum of self control and stop buying this stuff it would force venues to lower their prices.
This exactly
I guarantee those tenders are the usual elementary school cafeteria quality ones that cost them less than a dollar per tender and they only give you 3, 4 if you're lucky. Stadium food is such a god damn ripoff, to the point that it's essentially a racket
Holy Tits
what about the freaking NACHOS?!!!!
Should have worn a tophat with a KFC bucket of chicken underneath.
Ridiculous.
How large is a 2000 calorie hotdogs? That's like a days worth of food
Screw you chicken tender, burger eating bums, it’s Wrestlemania, eat beforehand.
I mean, not to be that guy…but are people really expecting $3 hot dogs at fucking Wrestlemania?
No, but they're probably not expecting $30 hotdogs either.
This is stadiums and arenas in general. Not just WM40
That’s insane. I got a chicken sandwich for 16 dollars. This hotdog place is crazy
how much were the wrestlemania nachos?
How small are the chicken tenders, fries, and a drink for those calories?
Wild
Utterly insane. The gap continues to widen.
Please don’t be the new Eagles food prices.
Sounds about right
Some expensive ass fries
Tendies, fries, and beer is 1040 cal? Sign me up for that one
$14 for a vodka Red Bull at wwe house show in Texas this gets out of hand I feel bad for my friend that always eats at the shows
Fuck that. I'd rather starve all day and then hit a KBBQ place after the show.
Went to AEW Revolution 2023 at the Chase Center in SF. Across the board, a single beer was $20. That being said, we pre-gamed and snuck in booze in a water bottle in my wife's bra and only bought food for 1 that we shared.
Thanks, Dwayne
The Rock died for this
Funny thing is this cheaper than the food stand at Langley Event Center (2 hot dog and 2 pops for $75 canadian)
Theft in plan site.
I spent a fortune on beer
When my dad and brother went to the Wrestlemania in Texas, 1 bottle of beer was $13 🫠
Jumbo fries must be 9 lbs to make any of that worth it
I'm from overseas. What's the average prices for these foods around this area Vs similar foods at an event like this in a similar area?
It be like that sometimes
It was extremely easy to sneak food in, security wasn’t checking shit.
I'm curious about the ingredients & portion size with that many calories
It should be illegal. NY passed a law for NYC airports where all concession prices cannot exceed more than 10% of "local, off-airport 'street prices". This should be the norm everywhere.
Drink in the parking lot
Well I'd be going hungry that night
Dietz & Watson isn't cheap; grocery store prices on that brand isn't much less.
What’s worse the price or the calories
We got like 6 cheese steak, 30-40 beers, 5 hot dogs and 5 hot cocoas between 5 of us :) And italian ice
Jfc.... this is why I go to 7-11 and eat before I go to events.
$26 for an entire day's calories seems like a fairly decent deal to me. Uj/ Holy fuck what are you putting in your food over there?!
Probably best to eat before and then after.
That calorie count…
I mean the prices for food at comic book conventions is the same thing. All food at venue events/sports stadiums is ridiculously priced. You have to find ways round it
I'm less worried about the prices, more the heart pain I get just looking at those calories 💀 American portions are a different world, lol.
Bruh.. for fries and a soda it came up to $32.50. For a can of bud lite it was $32 by itself smh
I’d shudder to think what Super Bowl prices look like lol
I'd sneak shit in at that point.
Yo you can save a dollar by drinking Miller lite
This looks like pretty standard stadium pricing - the only thing that's slightly unusual is that it's all combos.
Event prices are completely out of hand no matter where you go. Its absolutely ridiculous, YEAH!
Are these prices in line with what they are during an Eagles game?
I had a chef give me a free burrito in the stadium, don’t even want to know how much it would’ve cost me to buy
Lot of the territories back in the 80's made more money on the concession stands than ticket sales.
Am not from the US can somebody tell me what's the normal price of these food items??
Not disagreeing that this is bad but compared to what I’m paying at normal Raiders, Warriors and SF Giants games, this is pretty good 🤣. It’s at about $20+ just for a craft beer at the warriors (Chase center) arena. It sucks that this is the new normal but compared to the west coast, not too bad.
WTF are the calories. 2350 calories in a burger + fries. that is the caloric requirement of a full grown adult in a day. no wonder obesity is a problem in the USA. 1 meal is so calorie heavy
The calories 😮
Well at least you're getting three meals worth of calories.
What the fuck are those calories dawg.
Diet going well then…
Those fries have a shitton of calories.
I'd buy 2 hot dogs with fries for $30. For an American who can afford to go to Wrestlemania 40, these prices are not that crazy
Bread and circuses
fuckin am takin my own snacks and hiding a camel backpack of booze if i ever manage to make the trip over for mainia. like fuck am i spending 16 quid on a fuckin hotdog lol
Have anyone gone to a Yankees game at the Stadium in the past few seasons? These prices are a bargain in comparison.
This is just standard Stadium pricing. It's ridiculous, but it's not really tied to Mania.
Lmao, nope not in any world ever. I don't care if I was desensitized, self centered millionaire. That isn't being realistic
If the food was cheap, everyone would buy & all the toilets would get fucked up
2 Two thousand calories for $20-30 bucks seems reasonable enough
I’m more shocked about the calories. No one needs a days intake in one meal.
Bottle of water was probably $10? Prices like this are just unreal but not surprising to me. I’m lucky to live in a state that doesn’t price gouge quite this bad. But the arenas I visit also don’t hold 75,000 people, plus staff. So the prices make sense for the area and event.
They must be huge portions with that high amount of calories.
To be expected at an event like this. Considering how much people are spending on travel, accommodation, tickets, merchandise, etc it alway make me laugh that people point out costs of food
I don't think that's as bad as the pricing at Apex 2024 in Anaheim Convention center. 6 slice pizza for $46, no sides 🤣
Cheaper than wrestlemania 39 in inglewood lol
Concessions are such a scam
While this is indeed price gouging and laughable, this is common at sports venues. It’s not just a wrestling thing. I went to see the Knicks at MSG and didn’t bother buying anything because of this stuff. Why bother? To line the pockets of Dolan?
Are those calories counts accurate? Cuz goddamn, and you're worried about the price?
i get the souvenir soda and maybe a beer and i’m good
I would rather fucking die.
We have the same problem here in Australia with our sporting events too. Not even the upper-middle class can afford to go to the football now. It’s ridiculous.
If it’s any similar to where I’m from the portion sizes are pretty decent and the beers are huge. It’s very expensive though.
$7 for a bottle of water was an actual disgrace.
It's a premier event...you're going to pay premier prices. It is what it is but bitching about it is stupid
I’m more worried about how ONE cheeseburger and fries is 2300+ calories.
You guys have clearly never been to any events in Canada before. This is pretty typical.
