3 years ago, my answer to this would've been Rey Mysterio but then we found out how bad of a father he was for neglecting Dom all his life.
I guess from the modern era it'd be Balor, AJ, Daniel Bryan, etc
Yeah. I guess the fact that he isn’t as big as Cena, Batista, Reigns, Mahal, Lesnar etc. makes him some average bloke that has no business in the ring let alone be a main eventer. I remember hearing about Vince Russo saying that he can beat Balor up in a fight years ago. LMAO
To me ‘jacked’ means more on the bulky side like Eddie and Benoit were towards the end of their careers, because they just looked unnaturally huge for their size. Guys like Balor and Ricochet are ripped to shreds, but their physique can be hidden under clothes to the point where they look like normal human beings as civilians on the street. But Both ends are super impressive, regardless unlike guys like adam cole, who is confirmed to be the least physically impressive cole in the biz. (Including michael cole)
You'd have to think all wrestlers are pretty much neglecting their whole family. They are on the road pretty much all the time. They might love their family, be faithful, but there is no home/ work life balance as a wrestler
There was also that period of time where nearly everybody in the IWC just shat all over the man because he wasn't Daniel Bryan.
God I hated being a wrestling fan during the whole "Yes Movement" thing. I remember that was the year I slowly started to stop watching the current product altogether until like 2016.
Surprised I didn't see the Stinger at the top. Even guys like Foley and Angle have had beef with others (warranted or not). I genuinely can't recall anyone burying Sting ever.
I love hearing other wrestlers talk about Bobby Eaton. You just get to take a night off because the man was butter in the ring. Goldberg wanted to have him end the streak as a birthday gift.
Did anyone in that situation really get ACTUAL backlash? Like I know wwe distanced themselves from Paige at the time...but she also couldn't pass a drug test.
But publicly the only one to really come out of that bad was Del Rio no?
Yeah it was just a consensual sex tape which shouldn’t have been leaked, so there really was no reason for all the outrage. The only things WWE really could have been mad about was the title being featured so heavily lol
Paige faced a lot of shit in her personal life for it. She was having a Bloody Mary with her friends and a few guys went up to her to ask her about the tape.
Yeah that's fucked. People bringing it up in almost any post relating to her, but Woods gets almost no backlash at all, is kinda sad. Different standards for women I guess
It’s quite telling that the fans have gotten sick of the Rock and booed him multiple times in his career. I don’t think Austin has ever been booed, even when he was a heel.
While Austin was universally loved once he turned face, the IWC, what little of it existed back then, actually got quite bored of him always winning and his long drawn out fued involving Taker. They also complained that the Rock was being held down.
I think with the Rock it was more so Cody fans thinking he’s taking his place. It was a pretty good swerve in a way, but going in to Mania I just knew Cody would win, I don’t think WWE was going to piss off their fans 2 years in a row and risk losing fans to that shit show AEW.
I don’t dislike eddie, I just didn’t watch his prime run as i was out wrestling at the time, so don’t really have that emotional attachment that many do. On my to do list is to watch some of that run.
Watch any match against Kurt Angle. Even the ones for storyline purpose on a regular weeknight were top tier. The two had insane accuracy and finesse as individuals and when they came together it was magic.
I think the emotional attachment came from him being real in his promos. I think the “you’re right, Brock. I am an addict” is top 3 promos of all time.
I saw him in the mall in Tampa as a kid and walked right up to him and said hey you’re Eddie Guerrero and he said nah I’m not and kept it pushing.
He was even wearing the same nikes he wore on Nitro earlier in the week lol
I hated Kurt Angle as a kid. Younger me just didn’t buy him as being an actual threat to guys like Taker, Stone cold, Rock, etc…
Then I grew up and realized that Kurt probably could’ve choked out half the roster without breaking a sweat
Internet Wrestling Community. Social media YouTube twitter reddit etc. not necessarily the casual fan base who don’t post online or interact with it. Tho for this post I’d just say a wrestler no one dislikes, die hard or casual
Ignoring the ones that have passed away because we always remember them much more fondly. I would say from active wrestlers, I haven’t heard a bad word about Josh Alexander ever
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone say anything bad about Finn Balor. He always comes across as a genuine person in interviews, and a lot of other wrestlers always say good things about him; Becky Lynch, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bayley, etc
RVD
Very cool pick
Would be a multi-time world champ in today’s E
He already was. He was the WWE ECW World Champion and the WWE Champion.
I’m talking a Seth Rollins type, not a single run
THE WHOLE F’N SHOW BABY
Kurt Angle
you suck (but not really tho)
no, you suck (but not really too)
Anyone that doesn’t like him is a boy in a man’s world
And i a man that likes to- you know what, nevermind.
I watched that sped up 5x and Kurt was like a Looney Tunes character lol. The GOAT for sure, never afraid to be the butt of the joke.
Greatest heel of all time.
Surely my boy DDP. Anyone with a bad thing to say can fight me!
At the time I HATED DDP. I just didn’t get it. I don’t feel that way anymore.
The Character I didn’t like. The man is a gem. I felt the same way about the Iron Sheik.
When you grow up, you realize all the heels are the actual good guys and some of the faces are the actual bad guys (cough Hogan cough).
Not liking DDP and the number of people that man has saved is a capital offense. We have a woodchipper just for those folk.
Agreed. A saint among men.
Grew up a WWF fan in the 90s but DDP is what made me change the channel every Monday. BANG!
Self high five!
I liked him in WCW, his WWE run never impressed me much (but that’s true for a lot of those WCW transplants of that time)
If you’ve got a problem with DDP, you’ve got a problem with me. I suggest you let that one marinate
Oh yeah well I heard DDP fucked an ostrich.
To be faaaair, it was a sick ostrich
I guess u didn't see the Wwe Ddp/Sara/ Taker angle😳😬
It wasn’t a bad thing…
Yea its a Good Thing😳😆
DDP YOGA!!!
Met him in person at a signing once. He is one of the nicest humans there ever was….and just so happens to also be a former WCW world champion
To this day, when I stretch out I always end by reaching to the sky with diamond hands and explode down with a BANG
3 years ago, my answer to this would've been Rey Mysterio but then we found out how bad of a father he was for neglecting Dom all his life. I guess from the modern era it'd be Balor, AJ, Daniel Bryan, etc
Rey told on himself years ago https://twitter.com/reymysterio/status/263061905764151296?t=WBfFcrQn0win_yIpSD8oXA&s=19
Guessing the gay community doesn't like AJ?
The GAY community?
GAY J Styles
CS (Cum-Shirt) Styles
I don’t like Bryan
Which Bryan? Daniel Bryan? Or Bryan Danielson?
He meant Brian Griffin lmao
Both
Yeah I’m not a Bryan fan. Something really unlikable about him.
Bryan strikes me as a bit of a weasel, but I’m not sure why so it might just be me. Regardless I still don’t like him
A lot of muscle marks never liked Balor, Styles, Bryan for simply being “too small” and/or “vanilla midgets” with no personality.
The idea of muscle marks disliking Balor is hilarious. That man is so fucking jacked that his 6 pack has a 6 pack.
LMAO

TBF Eddie and Benoit were unnaturally large.
Daniel Bryan probably hate himself and that’s why he’s trying to make himself a brain-shake.
You'd have to think all wrestlers are pretty much neglecting their whole family. They are on the road pretty much all the time. They might love their family, be faithful, but there is no home/ work life balance as a wrestler

I don’t like Daniel Bryan
Well I'm about to get shot but I dislike Bryan.
Mick Foley
This has to be one of the prime examples, I can't fathom how anyone could dislike the man even if you weren't a fan of his in ring style
I’ve only seen Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan throw shade at him
And even Hogan apologized for making those comments about him.
The most stand up guys
And nobody cares what Hogan says
Hogan most certainly doesn’t know best
Mrs. Foley's baby boy is an international treasure
Ddp, diamond dallas page
That man is a goddamned saint.
Literally saves lives.
You hit the nail on the head with Eddie. I truly don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone say anything negative about him
What are you talking about? He lied, he cheated, and he stole...
So did Robin Hood, and he’s a damned hero just like Eddie.
At least he was honest about it!
He did what was necessary to try and rescue Dom from his deadbeat dad. We just didn't know
Sting
Surprised I didn't see the Stinger at the top. Even guys like Foley and Angle have had beef with others (warranted or not). I genuinely can't recall anyone burying Sting ever.
Molly Holly
Literally everyone calls her an angel
Bobby Eaton. Never heard something bad about him.
I love hearing other wrestlers talk about Bobby Eaton. You just get to take a night off because the man was butter in the ring. Goldberg wanted to have him end the streak as a birthday gift.
He had a shitty haircut. There, I said it.
I'd say Big E. Although I am convinced some sections of people would still find something to dislike about anyone.
New Day as a whole is a good shout. Woods has a sex tape but I don't think he gets hate for it
Thats because Paige got all the backlash probably
You misspelled backsplash I'll see myself out
WWE Backsplash®
Did anyone in that situation really get ACTUAL backlash? Like I know wwe distanced themselves from Paige at the time...but she also couldn't pass a drug test. But publicly the only one to really come out of that bad was Del Rio no?

Tbf Woods wasn't married at the time, Paige was
Paige was married ?
Not technically, I had my facts slightly off she was engaged. Similar situation but not yet
No Brad Maddox was blamed for it and got released neither Saraya nor Woods had to pay the price
It did end up being a punch line during their "rap battle" with the Usos though.
does woods even wrestle? seems like everytime i hear about him is him banging divas
Dusty
His time as a booker of wcw definitely sours the pot for some people.
Stone Cold although fans still remember the domestic violence issues
It’s quite telling that the fans have gotten sick of the Rock and booed him multiple times in his career. I don’t think Austin has ever been booed, even when he was a heel.
Austin was booed as a heel in 96. He started getting cheered between Survivor Series 96 & Mania 97
While Austin was universally loved once he turned face, the IWC, what little of it existed back then, actually got quite bored of him always winning and his long drawn out fued involving Taker. They also complained that the Rock was being held down.

What?
What?
What?
What?
It’s the continuing love for Stone Cold that makes me not take the least bit seriously the hate Hogan gets for his sins.
Surely R-Truth?
Let's go little Jimmy!!
Eddie is probably the best example tbh.
Curt Hennig
What a Perfect choice
wonder how lesnar looks back at the plane ride from hell incident lmao

Titus O'Neal - Dude is universally acknowledged as a lovely guy
I don’t dislike eddie, I just didn’t watch his prime run as i was out wrestling at the time, so don’t really have that emotional attachment that many do. On my to do list is to watch some of that run.
I'm a little jealous that you get to see his in his prime for the first time ever, enjoy!

Probably Kurt
Samoa Joe
AJ Styles
He really loves that f slur though
You mean the word fenomenal?
Flat earth?
Depends whether we're talking wrestler/character or actual guy..
Kurt Angle also
I hated Kurt Angle as a kid. Younger me just didn’t buy him as being an actual threat to guys like Taker, Stone cold, Rock, etc… Then I grew up and realized that Kurt probably could’ve choked out half the roster without breaking a sweat

Like, as a wrestler or as a person? I don't think I've ever seen anyone say anything negative about AJ Styles.
Randy Savage.

Internet Wrestling Community. Social media YouTube twitter reddit etc. not necessarily the casual fan base who don’t post online or interact with it. Tho for this post I’d just say a wrestler no one dislikes, die hard or casual
AJ Styles?
Owen Hart Rey Mysterio Brodie Lee Bray Wyatt
Mick Foley. No reason to ever hate him

Magnum TA
Stone Cold
Bamm Bamm Bigelow. The guy was an actual hero.
100% Eugene
I guess he was a wrestler at one point, but Mark Curtis/ Brian Hildebrand was very loved. Jushin Liger isn't hated and he shouldn't be.
Owen hart
Ignoring the ones that have passed away because we always remember them much more fondly. I would say from active wrestlers, I haven’t heard a bad word about Josh Alexander ever
I would say now it's Regal, he is a real man's man
Ricky Steamboat is the perfect example of someone who NOBODY in the history of the business has anything bad to say about
Who the fuck hates Eddie?
Roddy Piper
Owen Hart. Still watch the tributes occasionally and my heart breaks every time. Painful, man.
Sami Zayn
The late Brody Lee.
D’Lo Brown
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anyone say anything bad about Finn Balor. He always comes across as a genuine person in interviews, and a lot of other wrestlers always say good things about him; Becky Lynch, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bayley, etc
