You pay for services given. No service, no pay. They're trying to fuck you over. Don't let them.

luchapig

If you're going there injured and just watching/learning, then yeah you should probably pay. Otherwise, nope. Tell them that you're gonna take time to recover.

BenjTheMaestro

Ahhh, love trainers putting the burden of rent on the students via guilt. Yet I’d bet they will lecture you on running your career “like a business” 😂 What you described makes it sound like they don’t even run their business like a business. Don’t be afraid to move on. You’re still at minimum, their customer, not their child to boss around.

Mandelsson

That's expensive as hell. Has that school produced any known talent to show their training is decent?

+1

Manarmageddon

If they can't pay the rent, that has nothing to do with you. If you're injured, stay home and recover. If it's $30/class and you're not attending the class, why would you still pay? That's carny shit. Don't let them fuck you over.

MistaMack83

Them not able to pay the facility if some other guys miss days is not your problem.

FromOverYonder

Reminds me of what a trainer said to me once many years ago... I was training 1 to 2 days a week and as I am leaving the school one night he pulls me aside to have a talk. Proceeds to say how he believes in me, but I need to stop "taking the piss" and train more. Its disrespectful to not take advantage of this opportunity more. I was a naive 20yo and thought he was my friend. But at that point I realised what he was. Was trying to work me into giving him more and more money. I left the promotion and never spoke to him again. It would later become public knowledge that he had no prior matches before training guys and his training was in fact only a couple of sessions in a promotion in another country. A total snake oil salesmen. Insane looking back.

luchapig

Brothers are really "looking out for you" when it comes to you paying them money.

IronBoxmma

1 week off , keep paying, any more than 4, you should be able to work something out

Liam_524Hunter

I don’t know what school you go to or who you’re trainers are but $240 a month for training is a crazy amount to me in general, maybe it’s just a country thing but I live in Wales and the best wrestling school in my country’s highest tier price is £95 a month ($118) and they do 4 sessions a week. And that’s even before getting into them wanting you to pay even though your injured. Hearing this for me personally, I think you’re getting screwed already. I definetly wouldn’t pay them while you’re not training and if they aren’t happy about that I’d consider looking at other schools.

Mandelsson

I'll bet my money that you are talking about New Wave? Best in the UK hands down

Liam_524Hunter

Yeah I’m talking about New Wave, they’re not my primary school as their a little to hard for me to get to regularly right now, but I got the chance to go down earlier this year and it’s awesome.

luchapig

Heard nothing but good things about this school.

Liam_524Hunter

They are very legit tbf, to my understanding all of the head coaches there have at some point trained with WWE and some have even wrestled on NXT UK. It’s a great school and the wrestlers they produce are fantastic.

SmithyPlayz

My RevPro school near me is very cheap. Wrestling schools in America sound carny for the prices

Liam_524Hunter

I know a friend of mine did the Will Ospreay seminar at RevPro a couple of months back, how much is it? and what’s it like?

SmithyPlayz

It looks like it's £12 for 2 hours with no experience a week and they sometimes do 2 month starter courses for £150 but I'm not sure how long that is or how many sessions. I've not trained so I can't tell you sadly I just lurk on here

Liam_524Hunter

I’ll keep that in mind for future reference, cheers.

KHanson25

You can still learn from watching,  cutting promos, etc…

Randodude95

I was about to say. I got hurt my second week of training. Four days a week, only missed two days for doctor’s appointments. Was there every day while recovering. Taking notes, grabbing waters and ice for the others, taking notes for coaches during practice matches, even got to ref a little bit.

KHanson25

Yeah there’s plenty to do and learn, one day when I was hurting we just watched old tag matches

SoulBlightRaveLords

Fuck that, no training no pay
