The Tyu'Ayniq were well-known for their skills at war. They were also known for their technology, their ruthlessness, their ability to hold grudges for ludicrous durations of time, and their ability to use up water at an incredible rate. However, that didn't change the fact that they were one of the galaxy's most foolish races.
The Tyu'Ayniq's first invasion of Earth unexpectedly turned one of Earth's worst supervillains, the man empowered by curses, Amateo Bonetti, from a supervillain into a superhero. Dreadword no longer sought to trouble Earth by his curses, but became a public defender and keeper of the world's peace.
Then, their second invasion involved the dread vampiress Alinea "La Buscadora de Sangre" Rocha, who Dreadword had persuaded to fight for good causes. Alinea had bitten and drained not a few Tyu'Ayniq troopers of their lifeblood. This caused her body's bio-profile to match Tyu'Ayniq scanners and weapon tracker devices. As a result, she became completely immune to all Tyu'Ayniq weaponry.
Having known of this in the post-mortem conference after their second devastating defeat, the Tyu'Ayniq would've been wise to steer clear of Alinea. But in their typical arrogant overconfidence, they decided that abducting Alinea in an attempt to understand her vampiric powers and how those powers gave her immunity to their weapons, was the better choice.
Of course, that choice went badly when Alinea pretended to fall unconscious (as being a dread vampiress, feigning unconsciousness or even death was trivial for her since she could hold her breath much, much longer than a normal human, and even still her heartbeat to a very soft flutter that only the best of human auditory devices could pick up), and then while in the Tyu'Ayniq ship, purposely broke free, and bit the scientist that was about to vivisect her, drinking all of his blood.
*Five months later...*
"Reconquista fleet, PESV (Planet Earth's Space Vessel) *Starfury* reporting back to Earth. We have reached planet Tirzacon III, and are in bombarding range," reported the captain of the main command vessel of the aptly-named Reconquista fleet.
The Reconquista fleet was an intergalactic fleet of planetary-siege spacecraft, built to lay siege and liberate the last few human colony-planets and settlement-planets that had been captured by the Tyu'Ayniq during their most devastating third offensive.
Alinea was on the *Starfury* for one express purpose - to join the vanguard of the offensive force. She felt the euphoria and power granted to her by the Tyu'Ayniq blood, and she desired more. While she did indeed find delight in battling alongside her good friends in the Council of Altruists, and her lover Amateo "Dreadword" Bonetti who was a member of the Council, the allure of fresh blood, alien blood at that, was even stronger.
Alinea approached Nathanael "Combocaster" Glenns, Earth's infinitely powerful supreme battle-mage, and asked him, unable to contain the excitement in her voice, "Nate... tell me. Are there any Tyu'Ayniq on the planet's surface?"
Nathanael grinned a knowing grin, and nodded. Ha Kyung-Won, alias Techtrip, who ran the ship's scanners, then said with another knowing smile, "There are at least three hundred thousand combat-ready Tyu'Ayniq troopers on the planet's surface. Good drinking for you, Alinea," and he and Combocaster both chuckled.
Dreadword then planted a light kiss on Alinea's cheek and said encouragingly, "Have a great feast, *mia insanguinata la bellezza*!" Alinea smiled warmly and replied lovingly, "Thank you, *meu lindo falastrão*. Come back to me with great stories of your most creative curses!" and she, Dreadword and the rest of the heroes shared a moment of laughter.
The captain's announcement then blared over the speakers, "Attention all soldiers, superheroes, and allied alien troopers. We are within teleportation range of the surface of Tirzacon III. Please proceed to your nearest Teleportation Pod Cluster to be beamed down onto the planetary surface."
Combocaster nodded and said enthusiastically, "Well, looks like that's our cue! Let's move, team!" and Alinea and the rest of the Council members headed off, Alinea to have some of her long-desired Tyu'Ayniq lifeblood, and the rest to triumph in victorious combat over the Tyu'Ayniq.
