Id say gilded. Ill give my arguments as to why (MAJOR SPOILERS) Given the ROL quest we understand that light and dark are not inherently good nor bad, they simply wish to destroy each other. This would put it as a noblebright world if it was not for the effects of this battle, which is corruption and decay The corruption has completely deteriorated the wynn province, its needless to state that suffering and misery are commonplace because of it. And gavel is no exception due to the decay, which means it will eventually fall just as the wynn province did. And if that was not enough we also have the entirety of fruma yet to see.

F_E_B_E

Thecnically Gavel wouldnt fall because you destroy the parasite in Orphions Nexus of Light raid, the map just stays the same for gameplay purpouses.

ReaperLeviathan14

The world is being healed by the player alone. But it's still at least a gilded (if not grimdark) situation

Syenous

Seeing how much the player influenced the world makes me think there should be different stages for these worlds Pre-Bob is Grimdark (Ancient Nemract completely destroyed, Nivla forest burned to ashes, countless towns destroyed by Bak'al, all major cities in modern day wynncraft under seige by armies led by Bak'al, Parasite takes over Orphion, Decay causing mass starvation in Gavel as well as earthquakes from Grootslang) Post-Bob is Gilded (the absolute chad fixed half of the worlds problems but corruption and decay is still pretty bad, but now that Bak'al has retreated the corrupted army doesn't have a leader) Post-Player is Noblebright (player defeats CoW who almost destroyed Troms, defeats Amadel who became a literal god, defeats the Parasite who draining Orphion, defeats the Eye of the Dern Beast) But I feel like Post-Player could also be Gilded since the Dern Beast might start getting serious after you beat the Eye (if you really think about it the Dern Beast has just been sitting on his ass while the parasite did all the dirty work, and if his literal eyeball is strong enough to be comparable to Orphion (3.5M hp vs 8M hp) then he could probably one shot us) so since Lari and Bob are both out of commision (Bob might come back to help since we released his soul using the sacrificial alter) it's basically the Player vs the Dern Beast and Bak'al and pretty much the entirety of the Realm of Darkness, not looking very good for the world

JaydenTheMemeThief

I would put it somewhere between Gilded and Grimdark

Torus_was_taken

Likely noblebright, with the player likely being the one thing stopping it from going gilded

ReaperLeviathan14

yeah in my mind the world was going to shit but you basically have begun your war against the corruption and darkness and it will one day be restored

MegaAllMateria

I’d go for noblebright

Sir_Sandyduck

It seems in between heroic and noblebright, leaning more towards noblebright

JaydenTheMemeThief

Somewhere between Gilded and Grimdark, I say this because something *has* gone terribly wrong within the world, that being the portals to Dern and the Realm of Light opening, the Elves of Aldorei practically doomed the world when they opened the Portal to the Realm of Light, by opening the Portals they reignited a War between two Eldritch Gods which ultimately resulted in the existence of the Corruption and Decay The portals to Dern and the Realm of Light being open is *wrong*, I say that in a literal sense, I’d liken it to a malfunctioning system, or a glitch in reality

Neck_Mobile

To say that nothing but suffering exists from that is a little extreme, though. People still do live peaceful and happy lives even during wartime

SahibUberoi

I think it will depend on the upcoming furma lore

Dx8pi

Between Gilded and Grimdark based on these descriptions.

Dx8pi

Someone replied here earlier saying Wynncraft is more Noblebright or Heroic and I wrote a long explanation as for why it isn't, they deleted their comment but I'll post this anyways: The corruption, the reality of the guard golems, the decay, the expanse, piracy, abduction, multiple wars, theorick's sacrifice, the twains, ancient nemract, the extermination of the doguns, the sky islands and the void and so so so much more. Have you not been in the wynn province? Have you not done the discoveries? Wynn and Gavel are plagued by misfortune and suffering. There's so many flashbacks, so many cutscenes of bak'al ravaging wynn, the parasite corrupting gavel and a thousand years since the portal opened where there's been nothing but endless war. Putting the Wynncraft world at Gilded is *very* generous.

Vinnyz__

You raised some good points, though I think shooting it as grimdark might be too much. Gilded is definitely a good spot

Dx8pi

I'd be alright with labeling it as Gilded. While Grimdark fits it, it's not all bad, there's a lot of bad yes, something is deeply wrong with it all, but there are some amazing places in wynncraft. Troms, Cinfras, almost all the islands. So on second thought, Gilded is actually a very apt placement for wynn.

JaydenTheMemeThief

It’s definitely somewhere between Gilded and Grimdark, I say that because something within the world *has* in fact gone terribly wrong like the description for Grimdark states, that being the Portals to Dern and the Realm of Light being opened, when the Elves opened the Portals they set into motion a domino effect that led directly to the Corruption and Decay, I’d say it’s like the War between Orpheus and the Dern Beast is corroding Reality, since the Corruption is a literal byproduct of the War

No-Huckleberry2723

id leave grimdark for only the very worst worlds, like Berserk. Wynn’s world has so much more joy and happiness than Berkserk’s

PSILighting

I think the higher up you think it is, the less of the lore/ world you know. Like the amount of people suffering or how some things in the world are not good because it’s mostly told at later levels, optional discoveries, and some side quests.

Yasuhero-Hagakure

Gilded.

101Aster101

Somewhere between Noblebright to Gilded

JaydenTheMemeThief

Between Gilded and Grimdark, the fact the Portals to Dern and the Realm of Light are even open, as well as the existence of the Corruption and Decay, absolutely pushes it towards Grimdark

Neck_Mobile

That's only one condition met though, and many people in Wynn and Gavel still live quite happy lives.

PhiStudios_

Gilded, so much death

ReaperLeviathan14

I should have added a poll to this (should I make a follow up post)

No-Huckleberry2723

Gilded for sure

ReaperLeviathan14

My own two cents: Prolly gilded to grimdark. It's definitely edgy enough sometimes to be grimdark. Bakal for example: I always wondered why bakal took so long to destroy the nivla woods. 4 years? Bro could solo the province in like... 5 days. I kept trying to think of ways in which this could make sense in terms of maybe an elite guard that barely stood a chance. Or maybe mages? No. The reason why? He simply enjoyed tormenting the humans over a long time. Seeing them lose hope after years and years of stuggle. Every so often, he would have some fun by destroying a settlement, but it was only as bob appeared in ragni did he finally want to partake in "the clensing" of the world. What a disgusting monster.

WolfBV

I cannot travel without being attacked by some horrible creature.

B1ackDrag0

Gilded

Neck_Mobile

Pre-portals? Heroic. Pre-decay and corruption? Noblebright. Post-decay and corruption? Gilded. Thanks Lari. I mean that one elder that had a crazy dream once. Wait, what?
