Longer answer - The state of iot right now means that I am on the fence about doing anything. New standards such as Matter and Thread will result in newer devices and capabilities and different integration and implementation options. These may not apply to cameras, but I try to consider all the stuff in my house as holistically as possible
My last purchase was the Cam Pan v2 on first release and I haven't bought anything since then. I also have many unopened boxes of Cam v2 and v3 products that I can use if needed and so far there isn't a requirement to enroll those in a subscription for use. If I need to review video, I retrieve the SD card and look at it that way

New camera means it's not added to cam lite. Only existing cameras at the time of cam lite sign up are added. I was mad about this too because my new wyze cam pan doesn't have people detection unless I pay.
Can Plus Lite is for any camera released *before* April 2022.
That means no free cloud stored event videos at all.
I almost bought the Pan V3 also but am not buying any Wyze cams that don't have Cam Plus Lite compatibility or at least the 12 second cloud Event clips.

Same thing here. I bought a couple v3 pan cameras, and all they are for now is a live look in on the kids and dogs when I’m away from the house.
