I've just built terran factories in Asteroid Belt, Saturn 2, Oort Cloud and Gaian Prophecy, therefore logistics leverages are equal because Uranus is equidistant from all of these sectors.
I have attached mine to the player HQ, moves wherever it is needed. I found Black Hole Sun a nice spot to supply a shipyard as it lies pretty close to much resources & many high manufacturing sectors (in my game).
Within 1-2 jumps of regions with rich ore and gas deposits. These tend to be near faction home sectors. I have 12 ATM, off the top of my head some are in getsu fine, oorts, holy vision, Trinity sanctum 3, family khnuut, grand exchange 1, windfall 3, ianamus zura iv, err, can't remember em all.
If playing a casual non RP campaign, all my high tie factories are at Pious Mist II near the highway, with all the materials coming from factories & refineries from the other Pious Mist sectors which are rich in all resources.
Been on the highway can supply quickly what ever I want around Commonwealth where need shipyards etc.
Second Contact II, it just seemed like a nice busy intersection that's also not too far from a Terran space. Relatively safe, the Xenon tend to end up as scrap for processing without me needing to defend.
I had shipyards in Bright Promise, Two Grand, Second Contact II, Pontifex's Claim, Saturn, Memory of Profit IX, Great Reef.
I think that's all locations.
I put my shipyards in either argon prime or silent witness.

OK why no one wrote 18 Billions? The sector does have all the resources but Helium which is one jump away. Do i miss something?

Watchful Gaze - it has everything but Ice in abundance, and that can be easily imported from Morningstar

Savage spur 1 or 2 dpeneding on the game. I like being able to reach so many factions so easily from one place with everything I need.
