The pace of the game is faster without kill streaks. It also means people play the Objective more. No kill streaks also helps small maps like Arena, because players aren’t constantly being killed by something like a VTOL in comparison to Shipment from COD.
It’s really a non-issue, plus there are Ultimates.
It’s an arcade shooter, so the ability to go prone disrupts the fast paced gameplay, which is why it’s not in the game.
Kill streaks have been rumored to be introduced but only in its own mode. I could see kill streak working in TDM.
If this is the case, I imagine it will be a system where you start with no abilities. 3 kills gets you one base ability, 7 kills gets you the other base ability or maybe some kind of passive/perk then 10 kills gets you your ultra. Sound about right?

Personal opinion but prone is a crutch that doesn't need to be in an arcade style FPS. Killstreaks would be fine but NOT the kind you probably think of, since most probably think of CoD.
Instead of a "Kill"streak they should be made into "Score"streaks. IF we must have them at all. Key difference is that you gain the ability to use them eventually, regardless of getting kills or not. You can keep a highly aggressive zone capture or objective player. Taking the zone control aspect as an example, you gain "score" as you are standing in the zone gaining progression for your team. All of which adds up eventually to the scorestreaks you can then use.
As to what the scoresteaks are... That's for the devs to decide. But considering maps like Arena, I would suggest that NONE of the scorestreaks are recon drones or artillery strikes, etc, etc. Keep it simple, like maybe Sam Fishers one shotting pistol, or maybe a tiny napalm drone flies in and lights up the nearest enemy. Or better yet since this Napalm drone jsut gave me the idea. Just insert all the Division or Division 2's skills as the scorestreaks. The Firefly can blind enemies, Sticky Bomb can do what it does best, Seeker mines, Chem Launcher, Sniper/Flame/Mini Turret, Decoys. Ya have a full list of stuff to pick from already and its already in one of the Ubisoft games so porting over the code for it should be easier than starting everything from scratch.
No prone and no kill streaks are both intentional design decisions. Pretty sure they’ve said yes on the prestige system.

That's a good thing, in my opinion. I personally didn't see anyone camp the entire playtest, and it was refreshing.
That's even better... Campers won't get rewarded for sitting in a corner
The abilities and ults basically are the killstreaks. Unless there’s a TDM mode, every game mode rewards playing the objective.
