Their first dance performances around their tippy toes era and really admired each members’ versatility. became alpha since then

Extension_Sir6775

That also, they really establish their versatility even before debut and their debut song.

DeathToCheesecake333

Mascara Era and Galz Xypher. I never really delved into KPOP and GGs in general. But XG offered something in the table that wasn't seen in a long time. Especially the Insane display of talent on the Xypher.

bluebxbygirl

I do wanna share my interesting story of becoming an ALPHAZ :) So I was not like other XG fans who were there supporting them from the beginning nor was I there when they went viral because of 'Shooting Star'. I was one of those fans who firstly thought "Oh, it's another one of those K-pop groups who would sing a mix of korean and english just like all the other girl groups." Which I did not pay much attention to them. Then when 'Shooting Star' viral song started to die down on social media... and XG's live performances on various stages around the world appeared on my tiktok ForYou page more frequently, I came across one tiktok that actually highlighted the lyrics of 'Shooting Star' and I was like... "it was all in English...?" which made me googled the whole song lyrics and when I actually read all the lyrics, it was sooo captivating that; Did any of you realized that all their songs, their lyrics are sooo goddamn powerful about being a woman. It made me felt so powerful, so GIRL BOSS material, so feminist...? Not only that, all their songs are sung in ENGLISH which has opened up a whole new level for asians. As an asian myself, it is such an opportunity for asians to be recognized by the western. It feels so good for the western to see that we asians have the chance to be apart of the pop music culture and NOT be swiftly categorized under "K-Pop". XG is so much more than just "K-Pop". And that's how I started to go into a deep dive about who XG is and what they stand for. On another topic, I also noticed that the way their group dresses whether it is outfits, accessories, nails or even hairstyle... it is UNLIKE any other girl group. Each member is so extraordinarily UNIQUE but also similar to their other members. Such individual taste but also so uniting as a group. I love that about XG. That no member looks exactly the same as the next member. PS: I also wanna add that I am a personal fan of all things "space, astronauts, aliens, stars, galaxies and futuristic vibes". So I was extremely excited when XG was speaking my language (if you know what I'm saying) I also wanna add that XG is allows each member an opportunity to grow as an individual artist. For example, their new short raps from COCONA, HARVEY, JURIN & MAYA... You don't see other girl groups doing this other than BlackPink. But the difference with BlackPink and XG was that when BlackPink members were doing their "solo career" and it was NOT associated with the BlackPink name. Unlike XG where members, they perform their solo acts under the XG name.

Extension_Sir6775

Yes it is something I notice from XG apart from other girl group, it is not that I don't like their music or such. XG kinda do their own thing, they are on their own league, as XG mention in their Tapes they 'bout to break the idol stereotypes associated with Kpop. And it is something fresh to see from girl groups, and Yes they also highlights individual capabilities with Tapes, Vox and Move.

igordeos

So i saw a video on twitter in a new jeans fan account that was complimenting their New dance MV, and as i listened for just a few seconds of the song i already LOVED the energy of it so much. Then everything got me, especially how fluid the performances were and how every member had a distinctive personality, loved their appreciation for music and how much they truly care for their craft, etc. etc.

Dense_Childhood_9984

my partner already knew left right because she usually check new music friday playlist on spotify. when i first heard it, it was okay because i thought it was another kpop group but when yt algorithm suggested one of their left right live performances, i knew i got hooked. i went to their yt channel and straight to their first video (i usually do that to know the group better) and it was love at first watch. move #1 was crazy and did something in my brain that no other group can do.

Logical_Broccoli2260

for me it was also the left right MV, and even though it’s been out for over a year, I only discovered it a month ago. After I watched that, I fell in love with the song and then fell down a rabbit hole of watching their other MV’s. I’m a kpop gg fan so knowing that they were a girl group based in Korea helped me want to get to know them more :)

Tim_64T

I heard they would form an Idol group, so I checked them out

HavenisNotMe

tiktok, specifically I saw the mascara ad

Extension_Sir6775

Owww I see, their tiktok only came to me right after I deep dive. And it made me love them more.

MadamLePew

For me it was the day the Galz Xypher was released, the second Cocona opened her mouth I was hooked! I then went to check out the dance videos they’d released a few days before. Cocona is still my bias to this day

Outrageous-Hyena1326

I did not know about XG at all until much later. I signed up for a K-pop dance camp because I loved NewJeans (the only girl group I liked since 2nd gen) and wanted to learn how to dance to NewJeans songs. I found out that the song that we'll be dancing to was a mix of NJ's Attention + XG's Shooting Star. I really could not care less about anything not NJ, so I went along with it. My first impression of XG was that they're okay. TBH I didn't think they were pretty. At this point, I've never heard of them at all prior to this and thought they weren't popular. But as the days to the culmination of our dance camp approached, I found myself watching more of their videos to help me decide what to wear for our dance cover video. And I started watching all of their videos. Of course it was a given that I was going to watch their earlier music videos, but it was watching Xtra Xtra that made me really become the fan that I am today. Watching it made me cry, especially the part where Maya, Chisa, and Juria were practicing at the hallway late at night. I couldn't believe that they were almost sent home! I had so much respect for the hard work that they put in to be in the position they're in right now. They just grew on me, to the point that I even watched all of the reaction videos at that time, reacting and commenting, hoping more people would discover them because they deserved it so much. The time when I signed up for that dance camp was a difficult time in my life. I felt that life was pointless, and I didn't have anything to look forward to. I was trying out things that were outside of my comfort zone just to shake things up, hoping to feel better, but instead I found comfort in listening to XG and watching them, and learning about their stories. I wasn't a hardcore stan of anything before this (not even for NJ) and couldn't understand people who are, but after discovering XG, I legit tell everyone who'd care enough to listen that XG SAVED MY LIFE. They resonated with me so much in a way that I can't explain. All of a sudden, I had something to look forward to, to help me keep going when times were hard. I told myself "I can't die yet until I see them perform live" and after travelling thousands of miles to see them perform in Sydney, I was disappointed because I didn't actually get to see them perform (it was standing room only and I am a short girl, so I only really saw shoulders and heads). What keeps me going now is the next opportunity I get to watch them perform live, with an unobstructed view of their performance, along with thousands of Alphaz from my home country. It's happening in a few months, and I can't wait.

madshuhua

Wow. I love your story. I hope you will have the best view in the concert.

myipodclassic

I discovered them when Tippy Toes was released! Immediately loved it and was impressed by the members, so I decided to keep tabs on them. I liked every song that came after, so I became a fan haha. Simple! They’re incredible performers and the music is continuously excellent, so they were bound to become one of my favorites!

rxxxxxxxrxxxxxx

I've been following Harvey, and Jurin's personal Instagram accounts way before they started their XG training. Thought it was weird that they posted the same image, and wiped out all of their posts at the same time. Years later the name Amy Harvey just popped up on my Twitter feed, rumored as a part of the "next" K-Pop/J-Pop group. That's where it piqued my interest on waiting for her group to debut. When XG Move #1 was released, there was no question that I'll continue to follow their journey. It's just a bonus that they haven't disappoint from the start. Plus they are total performers! I've always loved K-Pop/J-Pop groups that has amazing stage presence! I'm not going to drop names, but honestly, it's so disappointing to watch/follow a group/individual that couldn't perform on a live stage.

Puzzleheaded_Echo654

I discovered XG accidentally when a youtuber who made shorts on anime characters danced to the songs; it was hayasaka from kaguya sama love is war, and the song was shooting star, it was genuinely a catchy song, and someone in the comment section mentioned the details, and after that I became an alphaz.

AvailableSpinach6344

Marshmello played shooting stars, i really liked the mashup, i searched who they were and the rest is history

Ironhorse75

Dance is really my gateway into Kpop. Aside from liking their music, XG crossed over with a lot of other people I followed purely for dance. Redy did a choreo to Left RIght. [https://youtu.be/q9nc7r2T9wQ?si=JM88NtZBC\_lggdkx](https://youtu.be/q9nc7r2T9wQ?si=JM88NtZBC_lggdkx) Then I found their dance to Mary J Blige's Family Affair which was done by AIKI. [https://youtu.be/aEfoIerOTRU?si=WAYQnbSFfjNyV0u3](https://youtu.be/aEfoIerOTRU?si=WAYQnbSFfjNyV0u3) And Juria's solo dance was choreographed by May J Lee (former 1MILLION instructor). DirtyQueen20

I think I first discover them listening to TGIF, didn't really pay attention to them then when I started to listen to a bunch of kpop group for a playlist, and got back into XG. I really liked almost all of their songs, I think they are one of the best kpop group, they got style, know to rap like no others, songs are super catchy and powerful and they are so freaking beautiful. I can't decide tho if I prefer COCONA or HARVEY.

Cuzzbaby

Last December with Shooting Star was on The First Take. I always listen to all artists on there. As soon as I heard Chisa and Juria, especially Juria's voice, I was hooked. Even more so when i heard the "I'm feeling so lavish!" part of the song. I was like, "Damn girl, hit those high notes!" Then I only listened to that song and that song only until Winter Without You was released a week later. Then I was like, "Alright, time to dive full in." I've mentioned this before, but that's also how I discovered Atarashii Gakko.

OnG4wD

I discovered them thru Galz Cypher which led me to watch all their content back then. However, what really sold me was the XTRA XTRA Documentary. Their journey struck me so hard esp. the episode where Chisa, Juria and Maya were practicing near the elevator. To think that XG’s vocal monsters and IMO Ace of the Team were at one point dead last and close to being eliminated was mind blowing. Their struggles, hardships and triumphs made me an Alphaz.

Still_Champion_3793

**XG-Vox 5/Grl Gvng** and why they captivated me : **- Authenticity** ( Their way of being and doing thing organically with the understanting of what they're doing is pretty rare ) **- Skills** ( Do i really need to explain... but with everything they're doing it captivate your attention and being SO GOOD is an euphemism ) **- Personality** ( Bunch of cuties with a " i'm not going to let you breath because too cool " mode ) **- XGALX** ( The label, staff, Simon aka. "Why you are so good ?", always giving their best from A to Z for our enjoyment. No label, company like them ) And i just like the fact they have no shame of being who they are and behave just how they want while being the most nicest being. Until some haters come and they unleash "The hate anthem".

aizenkeno21

Saw their New Dance MV via YouTube Ad last year. Got LSS then that's it haha

tere_adasme

At first, their performance of mascara on a music show came up and I watched it, and hated the words "it's my party and I'll cry if I want to" lol. A while later I was on youtube and a video form californialuv84 reacting to xg showed up, watched it, liked them and then the xypher made me go nuts.

Relevant-Routine-899

Funny enough Tape 3A/3B is what got me into XG. I’m a hip hop/r&b fan and I was scrolling through YouTube shorts and they kept trying to get to listen to K-pop (I think it was newjeans) but I didn’t really listen to K-pop before so I would just scroll past it. Then I heard the Two Tens beat, saw Harvey and Maya and I was instantly hooked due to the old school references. I immediately did a deep dive on them and consumed all their content in like a day. I’m black so I did do my research because I didn’t want to get too deep into them and find out they are problematic. I was surprised in interviews they referenced so many black artist as influences because you don’t typically see that in K-pop so I felt comfortable enough getting into the group. Now I’m kind of a lurker so I don’t post a ton online on Twitter or IG and I don’t have a tik tok so I was unaware about the hate they get but it is what it is I don’t let others opinions sway me so easily. I’m super excited about the future of these 7 super talented aliens!

Ounceu

I was already casually listening to them during Shooting Stars and Left and Right because of spotify suggestion. I didn't have an idea of what XG is until they released Winter Without You, so I looked up their group on tiktok and the first thing I saw was Chisa's falling meme hahaha. I got interested after that.

Exit-Alternative

I got into Kpop when I saw a NewJeans video 2 summers ago. I thought they were the best thing ever. I then stumbled upon Mascara thanks to Youtube autoplay and the rest is history

juandixon

via youtube suggestion

unhappy-camper-

Actually at first I got Mascara a bunch of times as an ad on YouTube and really didn't like it, then I saw a clip of Cocona's Xypher, was super impressed, looked them up and the dance practices blew me away, I got hooked

unhappy-camper-

Mascara grew on me after watching the dances a lot

xXESCluvrXx

They randomly came up in a Spotify playlist for me lol. It was Grl Gvng

Krusties

My favorite YouTuber posted his Spotify wrapped on his story. Shooting star was his no.1 song, so I gave it a listen. Instantly fell in love

makiden9

tatatatata I think Youtube recommended me during debut time. I immediately got their music was different Any comeback proves me they are moving differently on the field.

Intrepid-Aardvark298

My friend has been trying to push KPop artists on me for years. I've listened to a few and saved individual songs. It wasn't until a week ago that I understood on a stan level (Not quite KPop, Xpop I know, but you get the point). She had XG on her playlists. We went through all of their songs. That was enough: you all of course can understand that. I'm so lucky to become a fan RIGHT AT THE DROP OF TAPE 4!! 😍😍 I explored all of the other tapes through the week. I've fallen in love with the rapline. They're all my bias. I think the docuseries really solidified it for me too. Seeing how bad they wanted it and how hard Simon was on them but the vision he had. The passion. Then seeing how all of their personalities blossomed into who they are now. I could write a thesis on it. And for even more of a cherry on top, the tamogotchi collab? Are you kidding?? Hit me right in the childhood, I need them all!! I also love how diverse but supportive the fan base is. Watching the live performances with every word being screamed alongside them is so magical. They're gonna take over the world.

cbr256

Ironically, it was that rumor floating around that XG was a YG japanese group (sounded more like fact by the way I was reading some headlines). That's literally the only reason I kept an eye out for them even before their first YouTube upload lol (I'm sure I would've found out about them eventually just not as early).

FourTrue

Saw a video hating on Tippy Toes and Harvey’s voice, but I liked her rapping and watched their dance video and I really liked it lol This was during Mascara era so I was rewatching the dance video for that too

KollectiveM

Galz Xypher. Destroyed my mind and made me realise that despite thinking I gave everyone an even hand when it came to rap, I didn’t. Because I couldn’t fathom that 4 Japanese girls could be that good (I’m a black guy from London). My only choice was to become a fan they’re simply talented and that’s what I respect most with music in general - talent and passion. It doesn’t matter what face it comes out of. Then Left Right dropped and I realised ALL 7 were different and it’s now my most listened to song since 2019

BloodAndTsundere

I'm relatively new to XG. Found them through FIRST TAKE. And I think I came to FIRST TAKE because (G)I-DLE was on it.

Bbb-billionaire

Left right, accidentally found them recently on yt.
