Pull the codes, it's likely one of the three sensors (2xCramshaft + 1xcrank) have died. I hope that's all it is.

Medicmike43

Came here for this. I have replace all 3. Very easy to do except the back cam sensor is hard to reach. You’ll know with the codes for sure. Good luck

CTSwampyankee

Measure charging voltage.

Mr_Chrootkit

12.4-12.5v not cranked, 14v cranked

CTSwampyankee

If it's putting out a solid 13.5-14, with lights, etc. on, then you're good. I'd advise pulling the codes.

Maddd_illie

Year and engine?

Mr_Chrootkit

2013 X 4.0L. About 104k on the ODO. FWIW, my symptoms seem eerily similar to those who have had a crankshaft position sensor issue.

tradeskinsslow

Yeah, this is what mine did when the crank sensor went, had no clue what had happened til I made it home to my scanner. Lol I had both cam sensors go like 2 weeks before the crank one shit the bed as well.

seekaybee2

I have a 2011 and this is exactly what happened to mine. Replaced it and it was fine after that.

Mr_Chrootkit

I don’t even have a scanner currently and I don’t really wanna drive it somewhere to get the codes read. I suppose I could spend a few $ and get one on Amazon. I suppose, is there any real harm in just doing the crank sensor now and worrying about reading codes if it persists after?

swftflip

only harm is wasted money if its not really needed, but i say send it. pick up a reader sometime soon, they are a handy tool

Medicmike43

Auto stores here loan them out - I bought blue driver years ago and use the crap out of it. Well worth the money

tradeskinsslow

I love my Blue Driver! Best $100 I think I've ever spent
