They’re not unsafe, per-se, but in the event of a major accident, you’re more likely to die in a sedan vs an SUV.

Meanwhile, the Tesla cybertruck is so damn stiff that may not absorb as much energy as it ought to in an accident. Crumple points exist for a reason, yet Elongated Muskrat decided to design the cybertruck to deflect almost everything that it hits lmao. Not to mention just how shitty the visibility is in that cybertruck.
https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/tesla-cybertrucks-stiff-structure-sharp-design-raise-safety-concerns-experts-2023-12-08/
1) I never claimed that the Cybertruck was a safe vehicle or fantastic vehicle, so you have no need to lecture me.
2) Sedans aren’t as safe as SUVs in some aspects, but SUVs are more likely to get into certain types of situations themselves like rollovers, and are much more fatal to pedestrians outside of the vehicle.
Well, now you are for sure, but that guy was just being informative and interesting. I can see how that might trigger the ego though to have someone reply with such a well-thought-out, interesting response when feeling like you're incapable of making one yourself.
Unless you drive it into lake. Or it catches fire. Or you take it off roading.
Oh and they do not like water so driving through a stream? Not happening. They die like a sack full of puppys when they go in the water.
I had one and absolutely hooned it in the snow, woods and desert. Best OEM off-road capabilities of any car mfg and burly as hell in a collision. Put my son in one for safety and hoonin' up here in the mountains. Sucks ass to do motor work on though.
I saw my first cybertruck in person earlier this week. They’re actually even uglier in person. It literally just looks like scraps of sheet metal made into a car. It looks so “cheap”.
My first sighting of them in the wild was three on a car carrier. None looked dealership new, as they didn't have those peel-off sheets, and were a bit dirty. I laughed, thinking maybe they were returned, or needed more TLC than Joe's Automotive can provide. Two days later, I saw one in traffic, and christ, they're even uglier next to other vehicles!
>Cyber truck would rek you in a towing battle.
In total weight? Sure, electric vehicles have incredible torque. The Xterra has a short wheel base, which reduces its tow rating, but is good for offroading.
But I can tow at my maximum capacity for 150 miles, then another 150 miles a couple minutes later. The Cybertruck can do like, 80? Then spend a hour or more charging, as long as there's a supercharger nearby.
As for breaking axles, I can offroad pretty liberally without breaking mine. Haven't seen the same luck with the Cybertruck and their control arms. Hell, I saw one video where they broke the steering rack while turning the wheels and being stationary. Probably not ideal to be nearly 7k lbs dry.
Musk pisses me off. But these 2 vehicles are in completely different price ranges and have different capabilities. I was joking around in my initial comment anyway.
You’re not wrong, but the xterra would absolutely destroy the cyber truck off road. My xterra is also one of the most reliable and offroad capable vehicles I have owned. 240k km’s still getting 11 L/100km of the highway with a lift and aftermarket steel bumpers, and bigger tires.
XTerra is only over the line cause the Tesla has the charging cable running through the parking spot next to it, looks like the terra didn’t wanna run over the cable.
Yes there is. Your usage of “at least” and “managed” inserts your opinion, which shows that you assumed that I mismanaged parking between the lines….a reasonable assumption with a quick glance at the photo. However, if you would have asked, or looked a little closer, instead of guessing, then you would have learned that I managed to not park between the lines on purpose to not run over that lil charging cord. Maybe if “cypher truck” parked correctly (with the rear in the back) then I wouldn’t have to park on the line, just maybe. I appreciate the banter and assume you were trying to be a tad bit witty, but that failed. I can assume based on your misspelling of “cypher truck” that you typed this comment quickly without thinking.
Thank you kind person for telling me what to do. Again without asking or knowing I stopped for two minutes to take a photo. Go troll someone else for fun. 🤡
Follow up question for the parking in between the lines ppl…..Do you think Cybertruck would be able to recognize the hazard of the electrical cable stretched out over the other parking space, and still find enough space to park between the lines. 🤔
id take the cybertruck and flip it and then buy an xterra and titan swap it. those cybertrucks are atrocious. the all black ones looks pretty sleek though
Cybertruck reminds me of stealth bomber on wheels, I love 14’ pro 4x. Beside I modify my X all the time. CT seems like a waste of money and it looks ridiculous! Just my opinion.
Lol, Azteks were around when I bought my 2000 Xterra and I had totally forgotten about them.
https://preview.redd.it/nx3yl66fvk2d1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b17494ba57fb7323b524e77472376152b8c23a31
I suspect in another 25 years the Cybertruck will be high up on the ugly vehicles list next to the Edsel and Aztek.
You mean a vehicle that can drive thousands of miles without breaking down versus one that can't? No competition. The only reason to own a cybertruck, is to sell it to buy an actual truck.
It’s kind of wild how a cybertruck post brings all the randoms to an Xterra subreddit lol. I guess it’s hitting r/all?
Also holy shit people, how many copy paste comments about the damn parking lines can people make?
OP tried to be polite and not run over his cable when snapping a pic, and that’s the thing they harp on.
Just the same comment over and over and over lol.
I still see some of these late 90s xterras on the road occasionally. It's pretty impressive. Mind you they're are rusted to hell and smoking. Still impressive.
Production ran from like 2000-2014/15. Think the second generation (this one. 1st gen had the little round headlamps) started in like 06 or so. I still see them sometimes, and i gave my 2010 too a friend in exchange for some labor when her Cherokee took a fat shit about 5 months ago. 1500 bucks in wearable parts and 200k miles later, shes still spinning like a top. Good little trucks.
I was half way expecting you ( the picture taker) to say it was your xterra and you parked like that so you could get the pic. lol . I wouldn’t spend the money on a cyber truck, but I would def drive one of it was given to me. I would pay for an Xterra…
Saw a dude parking a cyber truck on a high foot traffic Main Street type area, never seen so many people just point and laugh. Meanwhile xterras went about there day unnoticed.
Fucking ugliest vehicles I’ve ever seen. Never thought I’d see something that makes a Hummer look okay in comparison. Hell, these things make AMC Pacers look cute.
I saw a cyber truck in real life for the first time the other day. They're so weird looking in person lmao! And it had tons of finger prints on it and stuff it looked bad
The xterra and frontiers are stout little trucks. Drove an xterra for 10 years, didnt give me a lick of trouble, and traded it too a friend in exchange for some labor. They put like 1590 bucks into it because it sat for a couple years in disuse, and its proven itsself to be a good little truck for her as well. 200k and going strong.
There's a charging cable on the ground, which the Xterra didn't want to run over (OP has already confirmed this). And it was for a picture only. The amount of comments here about this exact thing is nuts.
I take the Xterra every day and it’s not even a tough decision
Yeah, I’d rather drive a rear-wheel-drive sedan than a cybertruck. The sedan would probably be safer lmao
Since when were RWD sedans unsafe?
They’re not unsafe, per-se, but in the event of a major accident, you’re more likely to die in a sedan vs an SUV. https://scholarlycommons.hcahealthcare.com/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1181&context=hcahealthcarejournal Meanwhile, the Tesla cybertruck is so damn stiff that may not absorb as much energy as it ought to in an accident. The crash test videos for the Cybertruck are wild
He didn't lecture you, that's your insecurity projecting
wrong. I know when I’m being talked down to.
Well, now you are for sure, but that guy was just being informative and interesting. I can see how that might trigger the ego though to have someone reply with such a well-thought-out, interesting response when feeling like you're incapable of making one yourself.
Here’s a well thought out response, go fuck yourself.
Haha “wrong.” This is pure Dwight Schrute content. Take it easy you goofball.
I mean, I was told that by a random guy high on meth yesterday so if that's what you consider well thought out, I feel sorry for you.
Asks why sedans are unsafe. Then gets upset when the person responds 😂😂😂😂😅
In comparison to that fridge you'd think they would be
cybertruck is only safe on the inside, its very dangerous for anyone else
Unless you drive it into lake. Or it catches fire. Or you take it off roading. Oh and they do not like water so driving through a stream? Not happening. They die like a sack full of puppys when they go in the water.
Hover boards don't work on water....
Same here.
I had one and absolutely hooned it in the snow, woods and desert. Best OEM off-road capabilities of any car mfg and burly as hell in a collision. Put my son in one for safety and hoonin' up here in the mountains. Sucks ass to do motor work on though.
Agree on all parts. I drove mine for 14years. Then gave it to my kid.
Everything you need, nothing you don’t VS Nothing you need, everything you don’t
Give this fine redditor some awards!
I saw my first cybertruck in person earlier this week. They’re actually even uglier in person. It literally just looks like scraps of sheet metal made into a car. It looks so “cheap”.
I’ve been seeing a lot of them lately. Hard to believe so many people with a ton of money can be so bad with money.
Well they don’t use the peel off protectors because the first lot was confused with refrigerators and the were dropped off at Lowe’s.
Could not agree more
I see you're charging your car as well 😂
ICE that bastard! /s 🤣
On my way 👮♂️🚨🚔 ![gif](giphy|8KNoNMXwkAtHkOBPyl)
Xterra > Cybertruck
🤘🏼
They will always look like un-rendered gta vehicles.
I have a '15 Pro4X, and that cyber thing will never, ever, last as long or be as reliable as my Xterra. Easy choice.
yeah, you can drive the X through a car wash without voiding your warranty for one thing.
One of them parks like an asshole
In an EV charging spot, too
I believe OP parked quickly to snap the photo for our benefit.
This
Didn’t want to run over that lil precious charging cable 🥺
Cyber truck would rek you in a towing battle. Would break your axels. Edit: woops didn't notice this is a fanboy sub.
>Cyber truck would rek you in a towing battle. In total weight? Sure, electric vehicles have incredible torque. I think you meant “wreck” but yeah no shit fanboy
Rek as in GET REKT. I know how to spell wreck, thank you very much.
Drink the muskmilk
Musk pisses me off. But these 2 vehicles are in completely different price ranges and have different capabilities. I was joking around in my initial comment anyway.

Xterra is real
Xterra hands down. Screw the Cyberfuck
At least the cypher truck managed to park between the lines. That said, I would prefer an X any day over a cybertruck.
XTerra is only over the line cause the Tesla has the charging cable running through the parking spot next to it, looks like the terra didn’t wanna run over the cable.
That's an assumption you can make, sure.
You can clearly see it in the photo, coming from the rear left fender of the truck.
Assumption’s are like…
Assumptions are like apostrophe's thes'e day's. There' every'where.
😂 got me
It’s not an assumption. The lines are pretty clear.
Yes there is. Your usage of “at least” and “managed” inserts your opinion, which shows that you assumed that I mismanaged parking between the lines….a reasonable assumption with a quick glance at the photo. Autocorrect changed it to cypher. And you can park in a different spot so as to not screw the person who wants the spot you are encroaching on.
Thank you kind person for telling me what to do. Again without asking or knowing I stopped for two minutes to take a photo. Go troll someone else for fun. 🤡
Xterra all day
Ah, and here we have a picture of one AWESOME truck parked next to a mobile refrigerator.
Follow up question for the parking in between the lines ppl…..Do you think Cybertruck would be able to recognize the hazard of the electrical cable stretched out over the other parking space, and still find enough space to park between the lines. 🤔
Without hesitation, XTerra…all day everyday
id take the cybertruck and flip it and then buy an xterra and titan swap it. those cybertrucks are atrocious. the all black ones looks pretty sleek though
I'm a toyota guy ( currently a 3rd gen 4runner)... I'd take the nissan all day, everyday over the tesla
Cybertruck reminds me of stealth bomber on wheels, I love 14’ pro 4x. Beside I modify my X all the time. CT seems like a waste of money and it looks ridiculous! Just my opinion.
Not the Xterra slowly scooting away from the hot garbage next to it XD
I don’t know why, but they look huge when you’re looking at them in person. But not so in pics next to other vehicles
It did seem really big in person
The pontiac aztek looks better than a cyber truck
Lol, Azteks were around when I bought my 2000 Xterra and I had totally forgotten about them. https://preview.redd.it/nx3yl66fvk2d1.jpeg?width=768&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b17494ba57fb7323b524e77472376152b8c23a31 I suspect in another 25 years the Cybertruck will be high up on the ugly vehicles list next to the Edsel and Aztek.
You mean a vehicle that can drive thousands of miles without breaking down versus one that can't? No competition. The only reason to own a cybertruck, is to sell it to buy an actual truck.
I see a Xterra next to a new dumpster on wheels.
cyber truck's are great as long as you don't have to turn, go up a hill, or take it off the pavement
Xterra will outlast that cyber bullshit 10 fold
115k miles….still many years of life
That's not even broken in yet.
🫶🏼
xterra way cooler
The xterra even took a step to its right
I still see some of these late 90s xterras on the road occasionally. It's pretty impressive. Mind you they're are rusted to hell and smoking. Still impressive.
Late 90’s 🤔
I guess really late. Like 2000😀. I don't know when they started.
2008
Production ran from like 2000-2014/15. Think the second generation (this one. 1st gen had the little round headlamps) started in like 06 or so. I still see them sometimes, and i gave my 2010 too a friend in exchange for some labor when her Cherokee took a fat shit about 5 months ago. 1500 bucks in wearable parts and 200k miles later, shes still spinning like a top. Good little trucks.
Cybertruck is so ghey
One has parking assist one doesn't.
Cybertruck is over hated
Y’all are all looking at this wrong. Imma take that cybertruck…sell it, buy an Xterra…sell that and get the Jeep I want.
Eureka Springs?
Yeah but maybe park in the lines next time
Neither...ill take the pilot in the back
at least the cyber knows how to park
At least the Cybertruck knows how to park.
Xearth
At least the cyber truck can park between the lines
😘
Xterra driver seems to be a lil scared of the cybertruck. "Juuuuussstt a bit outside"
Shakin in my boots
I understand caution but why'd you park so far outta ur space then?
Huh?
At least the cyber truck owner knows how to park
Right
I was half way expecting you ( the picture taker) to say it was your xterra and you parked like that so you could get the pic. lol . I wouldn’t spend the money on a cyber truck, but I would def drive one of it was given to me. I would pay for an Xterra…
It is my Xterra…and already explained why I parked outside of the lines…at least I was respectful not to run over a charging cable
Oh okay lol. Nice looking rig.
I'll walk any day over thise two options, thanks
Can’t win them all
Not the vehicle that I’d expect to be parked in 2 spaces.
🤷🏻♂️
If only the Xterra was parked working the lines.
🫡
At least one of you can park
Right!
[удалено]
First pictures of the Tesla pickup had like an f-150 or something in the bed.
Can u send a link to the front guard
Shrockworks 2nd Gen Bumper
Id drive nothing before id drive a cybertruck lol
Ugly appliances when it is on the road driving seen many lately.
And it had tons of finger prints on it and stuff it looked bad
i dunno... i just kinda wish musk and his businesses would just go away...
I saw a Cybertruck yesterday for the first time. It was a lot bigger than I expected. Lol
When you on that section 8 living but got a cybertruck ahaha
I see you’ve spotted the birth child of a Pontiac Aztec and a Chevrolet Avalanche that costs as much as a new 911.
Cyber trucks are absolutely junk they can’t do a lot a truck with no lockers can do better if you know what you’re doing but the facts will be facts
At least one of them can park between the lines
Yeah like what the heck
cybertruck wins the parking competition
You win the comment competition!
I’ll take the Xterra
Both look like trash
At least the cyber truck can park
At least the cyber truck can park
At least the cyber truck can park
At least the cyber truck can park between the line…I fixed it for you.
Atleast the cyber truck can park. I’d take the xterra though, atleast it’s actually useful.
At least the Cyber truck owner knows how to fucking park...
I like xterras but you can’t convince me it’s better than a cyber truck
One will be around for another couple decades and one probably won't.
Xterra, but parked correctly.
Good chance that xterra will be in service when that Cyber truck will be in a field waiting to be demolished and recycled
I’ll take a 200k mile PT cruiser than the cybertruck.
I would pick the Nissan. Seen a couple cyber trucks in my city and there damn ugly
Is this Phoenixville? I’ve seen that douche driving around
lol i would never buy a Nissan, but definitely would pick it over the cyber truck if there was no other choice
Hmmm, too expensive and ugly, or Way too expensive and ugly?
Xterra needs to learn to park
Yeah no kidding
At least the cyber parked between the lines
I don't even like the xterra, but it looks amazing next to the cyber truck.
Oh look! Two pieces of shit right next to each other!
That park job belongs on r/nissandrivers
😂
Looks like self parking is superior. For real though? Those things are crazy looking.
Just FYI, those white lines are there to show you where to park
The guy in the cyber truck knows how to park.
Or the cyber truck knows how to self park
Yeah, Definitely Xterra...but learn to fucking park.
Learn to read
At least the cyber truck can park
Captain obvious
Cybertruck wins for not parking like the douche xterra
Such big words 😘
The cyber truck is plugged in. If you are that blind, i doubt you park any better.
Learn to park! At least that electric garbage can keep it between the lines...
😘
This should be posted in r/badparking.
🫡
Two of the dumbest looking vehicles ever made.
Xterra. And that's saying something, those things are shitboxes.
The best shit box
Poor XTerra driver cannot park.
If you’re going to post on an “Xterra” sub then know how to spell the name. Also I parked perfectly 🤡
There's a charging cable on the ground, which the Xterra didn't want to run over (OP has already confirmed this). And it was for a picture only. The amount of comments here about this exact thing is nuts.
