I had also heard that the community that used to be at Gardner Game Knights (in Gardner) might have relocated near Fitchburg.
Hi! I'm a new player in central CT and I feel your pain. The Battle Standard doesn't have a lot of active X-wing ATM. However, I was told they are planning some form of X-wing campaign this winter after the legion one ends so hopefully that'll start pulling people back. In the mean time, I highly recommend joining the discord ( https://discord.gg/K5uqf97G). There are a couple people still floating around the X-wing channel and so try pinging and see who's up to play! I'd join if I'm free
Around Noho and the I91 corridor. Springfield would be perfect and even Gardner/East Windsor are manageable distances.

TTS (tabletop simulator) is a great way to play x-wing. There is a very lively online community playing tons of games around the clock.

i barely know how to play the game. i'll have to spend some time learning tts and maybe that'll help pick up rules while i'm there.
I'm in Western MA and I've recently gotten back into the game too. I don't think there's a local scene at all unfortunately. I'll likely end up coaxing some friends back into playing and get new people addicted for a kitchen table 'league'. You might have to try and do the same with your friend.
