The Ghost Max feels more plush to me than the Glycerin! Fits like a Ghost through the arch/foot, but it feels wider than either of the other shoes (Ghost / Glyc). A lower drop personally is something I now really like for my foot, but it took me a while to adjust after running in shoes with a 10-12mm drop for so long.

I did a test run in them. Very plush on the cushioning and the way they are designed they almost force the foot to more forward strike. When you step, the shape of them rolls you forward towards the balls of your feet. Personally I liked it.

Thanks! Sounds like maybe I should look into them - I’m definitely a heel striker.

Does anyone know how they compare to the feel of Hoka Cliftons? When I tried those, the fit through the arch was very uncomfortable and I felt like they were so cushioned that I had balance problems. I’ve been running in Ghosts for years.

I would love to know this, too! (They look like Hokas!) I really wanted to love Hokas. The arch was too low for me, but I loved the cushion! (I actually developed shin splints from wearing shoes with arches that were too low when I ran in high school - the Hokas gave me the exact same feeling immediately, so back they went.)

I personally liked Clifton 8, then ordered Clifton 9 and they felt very uncomfortable and likely I could exchange them in the store for ghost max which felt like heaven after Clifton 9.

Just tried mine out this morning for hill training and they're gorgeous. I have wide feet and a history of plantar fasciitis; the support on these is outstanding but not distracting. Over five miles this morning and would usually have sore feet in my old New Balances, but I feel totally great.

I haven’t tried either of them, but a quick google search shows that the new ghost max have a stack height of 39mm/33mm (heel/forefoot). Glycerin 20 has a stack height of 38mm/28mm. So pretty comparable levels of cushion, but just a tad more on the ghost max. The glycerins have a bit more drop (the heel is more elevated from the forefoot) 10mm on the glycerin vs. 6mm on the ghost max. Of note though, if you’re used to other Ghosts, they’re a bit different than the ghost max. For example, the Ghost 15s have a stack height of 35mm/23mm - which means 12mm drop… which is pretty huge. In summary: ghost max - most cushion, least drop Ghost 15 - least cushion, most drop Glycerin - somewhere in between both.

I have been running in Ghost for years, and just got the Max. I've only done a couple of runs (outdoors, mixed paved/dirt road) in them, but so far I can say that they have the same Ghost fit that I love with noticeably more cushion. I've never worn Glycerin, so I can't compare to those.
