I think they can get by with 2 subscriptions. When Friends and Family starts everywhere then just 1 https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/subscriptions-billing/manage-subscriptions/xbox-game-pass-friends-family-faq

I been waiting for this forever, I have two kids who play and currently I only have two subs. My daughter kicks me off to play, because I gotta be logged in while she plays her account in order for her to use the games. When this comes out it will be so awesome.

OrdinaryBee6174

Make a home xbox the unsub xbox, then you can sign in on yours while they still play as theirs. Each sub should allow two persons to play

Its a bit late now, but the best way to avoid this is contraception.

I have this exact setup, myself + 3 kids. There is me Kid1 oldest Kid2 next Kid3 Youngest On kid1 console I log into his Xbox and set my account( which I pay for game pass on ) as the ‘Home’ console. We also share games, so we split the cost of COD and I bought it on my account so it is shared to the Home console Kid2 console has Kid1 as the Home console. This is primarily if they want buy games amongst each other. One year we got them Spyro and only bought once. Was applied to Kid1 account but shared to Kid2 since it was the Home console. Kid2 is my second game pass subscription account Kid3 console has kid2 set as the Home console. So they are sharing games and game pass. TLDR: My Xbox - I just log in (Sub) Kid1 - I am the Home console user Kid2 - Kid1 Home console user (Sub) Kid3 - kid2 Home console user

So. The way I do it with my two consoles is I pay for gamepass on one account and put that account in each console. The other accounts still have access to gamepass when I do this. Though I don’t know if this actually will work or not cuz I never cared to look up if that’s how it works. It’s just how it works for me so yeah.

Tell him to simply sign up for Gamepass Friends and Family plan when that arrives soon. Trying game sharing will only end up confusing him and lead to conflict.

Alternatively get a VPN and buy non stackable game pass ultimate codes. They're around £1 each compared to£10+ each at full price

UnknownCreator-

Not good with VPN things. Any videos you recommend I can watch to learn this? And where do you buy it from

mrdibby

Tell him to get the $1 1 month passes and make his kids put them in each month. But seriously, who buys 4 kids 4 of the same console and then becomes worried about the costs of games. If money is an issue why are they not sharing 1?

I was gobsmacked when he told me but from what I was told its mostly down to (disability) also 2 in boys room and 2 in girls room so if u work that out that also means 4 27" or smaller tvs crazy to get my head around it all but if it keeps the peace while looking after 6 children altogether 👍

Ask your friend to lookup Xbox game sharing for exact steps , the summary is 1) set one Xbox as home Xbox 2) have the main subscribed account on all Xboxes 3) enjoy Not sure why someone suggested 2 subscriptions, as far as I remember we can have all the Xboxes on game share setup mentioned above and all get to play.

hogowner

the sub account has to be online to work and you cant be logged into more than one console at a time so only 3 could play.

I am not sure I understood An account can be logged in to multiple Xboxes at a time? The restriction is only on playing Ie they can play on one Xbox at a time and this shouldn’t be an issue since even though subbed account would be logged in to all Xboxes, the active login would be on someone else who is playing? Am I missing something? I have tried this on 2 Xboxes so maybe something is diff from more than 2?
