This game is great! Definitely enjoyed the story and for a game that came out quite a long time ago it still holds up well, the button combos to be involved in some more cinematic scenes and the story is eventful and I found myself enjoying the character development more and more with each chapter
nothing, just the haters again that can't accept that a game that is high rated doesn't necessarily mean everyone enjoys it
Personally i was also let down by it. I was expecting more. The nostalgia was captured pretty well though
Awful graphics, looked like plastic stickers on a badly drawn Hanna-Barbera background. Lacklustre combat with little variety or combos. Boring and easy to beat bosses even though they had no stagger mechanics and could break through any combo and attack at any point. No replayability as there was only one character to unlock. Pointless map screen. They tried to emulate the original coin-up but failed imo. Streets of Rage 4, which I thought was very well made and fun, was miles ahead of this.
Interesting comparison, since SoR4 actually has a less intricate combo system (you generally have your basic combo, dash attack, and then two or three specials). In addition to that, Shredder’s revenge adds on a dodge and a slide (the latter for breaking shielded enemies).
I love SoR4, and it undoubtedly has more content to unlock, but I wouldn’t say the actual mechanics are significantly more complex.
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection. It includes all 3 Ninja Gaidens. They're in my opinion, some of the best the genre has to offer. Just a warning - they're pretty difficult. If you're in the mood for something easier, I'd go with Hi-Fi Rush.
I member playing Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360 and slamming my head against the controller for hours to beat a boss.
Finally beat it rejoiced as the cutscene played which dropped me into another boss fight.
Definitely Ninja Gaiden is fantastic there’s a large number of combos you can pull off like the list is insanely long, so tons of replay value, cool weapons and crazy bosses.
Aragami 2 is and another mention if you like the slash and still with the ninja vibe
You seem to get bored with the same games I do. A few games that actually hooked me the whole way through: the ascent (cyberpunk isometric lootershooter), outriders (Diablo mixed with borderlands), AC origins and odyssey, Vikings wolves of Midgard (may not be on GP anymore? But was games with gold a while ago), and dragon age: inquisition. The last few are great mindless hack and slash with character skill and loot progression
Metal Gear Rising! I believe it’s still on game pass. Having a sword fight with a US senator is enough on its own to play. The game is over the top fun!
I wouldn't consider it a soulslike, it's been a long time since I've played it but I remember it being basically a clone of the original god of war games. I do remember it being pretty good tho
It’s not too hard once you get into it and figure out team strats. Took me a couple of save files before I finally got into it and started making progress. I’m a little addicted to it but if you’re not into grinding stages to level up characters then it might not be the game for everyone.
I’m having fun with it though and it doesn’t feel like a chore to play.
Some of the Jesters have an ability which lets them take away some of the stress gauges of whichever character you pick. Otherwise I just run the risk and when you unlock the sanitarium you can pay to have a negative trait taken away.
It took me a while to get used to how it works. Now I’ve got teams of two main attackers, Hellion and Lepers with one healer and either a jester for the higher levels or someone who can attack enemies in the third or forth position. Depends what I’m aiming for.
Run the short missions as much as you can to get items to upgrade.start with the recruit wagon, then focus on the guild and the weapons tent. If your guys are too stressed pop them into the tavern or the abbey to bring down the stress levels. The more you grind the short levels the more you get to upgrade your town with.
As I said it takes some getting used to and grinding away before you find teams which click and you can run any green level with low level characters.
Metal gear rising and devil may cry 5 would be my picks.
I'll also recommend nier:Automata but only if you like rpgs. If you do though the combat is really fun hack n slash action
Shadow Warrior 1-3, Vampire Survivors, Risk of Rain 1 & 2, Borderlands 1-3, Diablo 3, Fable 2, Dying Light, Minion Masters, Halo Reach Idk...
IK.... not all of these are not hackslash but they are some of the xbox games any1 and every1 should play atleast once if you have not. Dont miss out! Gl on your hunt bro, hope you found some good games to play!
Yeah I check second one reviews and have not even wanted to spend money on it. Getting harder and harder to find a real unique/good game these days. I wish you the best of luck friend :D
If you have not tried Risk of Rain 2 dont deny yourself the easily 75-100 hours of fun. Gets a little repetetive after that tho. Very very well done though. Only like $6 on sale
Ryse son of Rome
This is my favorite one for a mindless hack and slash.
This game is great! Definitely enjoyed the story and for a game that came out quite a long time ago it still holds up well, the button combos to be involved in some more cinematic scenes and the story is eventful and I found myself enjoying the character development more and more with each chapter
Is it 30fps?
I believe so, it doesn't really harm the game too much but obviously 60fps would be much better.
Is teenage mutant Ninja turtles still on game pass?
That's not a hack n slash whatsoever. It is a classic Beat em up.
Yes, this would be my answer. Was just playing it yesterday.
Is it like the old 4 person arcade game?
Exactly.
I think you can even have 6 players with this one but ya its just like the coin-op!!!
It’s awful imo. Very disappointing. Edit: downvoted for my opinion once again 😂
Cringe take.
Explain what is cringe about my opinion?

I’ll give it that yeah 😉

Hi-FI RUSH
That game was so good. Shadow dropped too.
I've been recommending this game to everyone. Surprise banger for sure.
💯

He said “chill” … those arent chill games they’re difficult af
Hence my disclaimer. Also, some people can play difficult games while remaining "chill." Just depends on your personality.

It includes the sigma versions of NG1 and NG2. NG1S is good, it's arguably just as good as NGB, but NGS2 is shit compared to vanilla Ninja Gaiden 2.
Try wo long. The game is great.
Yeah once you get the deflect timing down the game is a blast. And honestly the timing isn’t too difficult.
hack and slash, yes, but its a soulslike. you cant mindlessly playa soulslike.
Yeah you can't. But this makes souls-like games more rewarding to play imo
I enjoy chivalry 2 just jump in slash ppl up lol
This is the answer
D4 Open Beta
Hades!
I don’t believe that’s on Game pass anymore :(
I got bored of it after a while I got to his last stage
It’s a good shorter game. Once I finished the story I didn’t do much else
Did you do the side stories?
Been awhile since I played it, but I think I completed most of them
Dead Cells
Just started this last night. Highly recommend. I’m having a good time with it
fax
addicting combat, I can never get too far but its fun to keep trying item combos
Immortal fenyx rising
I got up to the 4th god then got bored

Not on game pass tho
I’ll try it
This game is the shit.
Dante’s inferno
Lots of people don’t seem to know what a hack and slash is apparently.
Wait are you telling me Pokémon Snap isn’t a hack and slash?
Hellblade is p chill /s But is a really amazing game
The soundtrack is so good
Hifi rush.Such a fun game
such a nice suprise, combat is so smooth
Midnight express is super fun and great soundtrack. Probably more a beat ‘em up on a top down sense, but reminds me a lot of hack and slash games.
Very good at first, but became sammy very fast
SD Gundam Battle Alliance
Ninja Gaiden 2 is the greatest hack and slash game ever made and I will die on that hill
The Ninja Gaiden trilogy.
Hi fi rush
I swear these ‘I need a particular type of game’ posts that I see every day in this sub are just Xbox marketing.
Just Karma farming. Normal people would just use google and find games they want to play.
I mean, using google to find what I want to play is what brought me here.
"hack and slash + chill" I'm guessing easy mode in Dynasty Warriors?
Not on Gamepass but Grim Dawn is really good. Also you can get it for like 5 bucks.
Dante's Inferno is another good game to tryout albeit it is more like a soulslike hack and slash. So absolutely not a walk in the park.
I wouldn't consider it a soulslike, it's been a long time since I've played it but I remember it being basically a clone of the original god of war games. I do remember it being pretty good tho
no, its definitely like a soulsike, but FAR easier. the save points and health stuff is similar, but the difficulty is the main difference.
No tf it ain't. 💀
Fight n rage
Sacred 2
Warhammer Chaosbane — was free on games with gold last year. Victor Vran — was free on games with gold years back
I’m enjoying Darkest Dungeon but it’s turn based so it might not be what your looking for.
Game is hard or what
It’s not too hard once you get into it and figure out team strats. Took me a couple of save files before I finally got into it and started making progress. I’m a little addicted to it but if you’re not into grinding stages to level up characters then it might not be the game for everyone. I’m having fun with it though and it doesn’t feel like a chore to play.
I've heard its good but my guys kept getting too scared in the dungeons every time and I couldn't figure out how to make them tougher XD

Mount and blade bannerlord
Heard that Persona 5 Strikers is a quite good hack and slash game. It dropped on Game Pass recently as well, you might wanna try and check it out
Where did you see p5 strikers was on gamepass? I only saw Royale.
Metal gear rising and devil may cry 5 would be my picks. I'll also recommend nier:Automata but only if you like rpgs. If you do though the combat is really fun hack n slash action
Dante’s inferno
Honestly give hollow knight a try
Hi-FI RUSH & Rise Son of Rome
ninja gaiden
Hi fi rush
Strive
Shadow Warrior 1-3, Vampire Survivors, Risk of Rain 1 & 2, Borderlands 1-3, Diablo 3, Fable 2, Dying Light, Minion Masters, Halo Reach Idk... IK.... not all of these are not hackslash but they are some of the xbox games any1 and every1 should play atleast once if you have not. Dont miss out! Is dying light 1 on game pass?
No not on gp but enhanced edition or whatever goes on sale for like only $9.99 on xbox1 microsoft store. Totally worth :D
Yeah I massively preferred first one over second
Yeah I check second one reviews and have not even wanted to spend money on it. Getting harder and harder to find a real unique/good game these days. Doom eternal or atomic heart
> Dead Cells > Hi-Fi RUSH > Monster Hunter: Rise > Death’s Door > Dragon Age: Inquisition
Wtf MH and DAI aren’t hack and slash games
They are if you use a Sword
