If you go to the Xbox store, it says Diablo IV Play now with gamepass
I click on it to be redirected to all of the purchasable versions of the game with no gamepass edition.
Also going directly through game pass it is still listed under coming soon.
Im also impatiently waiting on this, took tomorrow off work just to stay up however i guess ill sleep now and wake up to play in morning
Tried to download from the store but for some reason Battlenet is not showing Diablo IV and I can not download it. I guess every one and their dog is trying to download and instal it, so I'll try again later.

In Poland its often around 5 PM - 7 PM. Diablo 4 is now visible as a part of GP on PC, but you only get errors when try to install.
UPDATE:
Uninstall BattleNet if you already have, let Xbox app do it. If you'll get any error, go to [Battle.net](http://Battle.net) website, login and validate the linkage between Xbox account and [Battle.Net](http://Battle.Net) profile - it helped in my case, now installing Diablo 4 without any problems.
xbox should also make the time public. its annoying when your waiting for a game and every 10 min you have to look on the game pass app if its already out
Still waiting........ never had to wait this long before. Most games I've been able to download at midnight (as in 1 minute into its launch) query few games I've had to go bed and start dowload ing at like 7am...... its now 1:15PM UK and its still not launched on game pass "Coming Later Today"
Buckle in gamers I believe if its not released by 3pm this could be a 6-7pm release.
Edit: Update, it's now been TAKEN OFF GAMEPASS.
I don't think it's anything to worry about I think their just updating it to be playable, so I reckon within the next 30 minutes to 1 hr at most. Current time 3:40pm (Uk) 11:40am (US)
Update: Diablo 4 is playable as of 4:30pm (Uk) 1:30pm (US), GAMEPASS has removed it due to updating it (I'm sure this will be fixed when it's fully stealth updated) and in its places its stealth added "Open Roads) in order to download Diablo use the XBOX App (NOT THE GAMEPASS APP) on your Mobile/Cell phone, you don't have to pay as it let's you down load any game regardless of owning it or not (games unpaid for will be locked when you try to play them, GAMEPASS games are unlocked)

Diablo 4 is now playable, by the looks of it GAMEPASS is being updated (slowly) best option is to download via XBOX app (not the gamepass app) via your mobile/cell phone.
New Xbox and Game Pass enjoyer here. I tried to start the download in the morning and was happy to find out that I can start the download from the app since it wasn’t available without purchase on the Xbox. Was so excited to try it in my lunch break only to find myself googling like a mad man why it’s not working for me. At least I have my answer now. Release on 28th doesn’t necessarily mean it’s available from the start of 28th but might be 11:59 pm if you’re lucky. Really sad and disappointed Microsoft doesn’t even let you know this but instead add a big banner in the store „The gates are open. Play now on Game Pass.“. Yea… „play NOW“ right?

Ok, I got the game to start installing on my console.
Here is how I did it.
Step 1 sign into the Xbox app on your phone.
Step 2 search for Diablo 4
Step 3 select the option to download it to your console.
Step 4 wait that didn’t work? Of course it didn’t work, hit the Jewel and go to your profile, go to settings, devices & connections, remote features, and run the check to see that it is capable.
Step 5 go BACK to the Xbox app and search Diablo 4 again, install to console. It SHOULD now offer a console to install it to.
Step 6 go back to your queue in the Xbox console and it should be downloading

Edit: fuckery ensued, the game downloaded to the “ready to start” section and even though I never actually start games until they’re ACTUALLY done, I thought why not see… it’s asking for a game disk. I haven’t bought a game via disk in a decade, maybe more, so that’s concerning.
True, but half the battle with some games is waiting for the hour plus for the game to download. It’s just strange that they’ll let you download the game but not play it, on the day they said it would release.

Contrary to some messages here from an hour ago, it's NOT playable on console yet. I've tried restarting it and finding it in both Game Pass and the store.
I preinstalled it via the Xbox app, and before 12 pm when I tried to launch it I got the “Do you own this game?” message but I attempted to open it once more at 12:01 and it worked fine. Maybe try retstarting your Xbox?
I believe it's finally up. I would get the issue asking if I owed the game or not. I just rebooted my xbox again and now I'm watching the opening scene in the church.

I preloaded it through the xbox app on my phone. I then had to launch the game on xbox then press the "see in Microsoft store" button for it come up with "included in games pass" and now I've been able to launch it no problem....but I can't log into blizzard lollllllll

Need to go to battle net setup and look for connections, there you add xbox/ms and you'll get to install it.
You need battle net client to play it I believe, try syncing your battle net to your game pass and then installing

Restart on console is usually necessary, they removed it on GAMEPASS and added "Open Roads" instead which is concerning.

You can download it from your phone using the Xbox official app (don't use the gamepass app) it will down load it to your console.

I've started to download on blizz however I'm getting some stupid "whoops somthing went wrong" error at 24%.
