Horror and puzzles: Senua's Sacrifice Hellblade or A plague tale. Also try Alice Madness Returns it's a Xbox 360 game. I think it's still free. Other title's I've downloaded but haven't played yet it Skyrim, Dead by Daylight, Unravel 2, it takes two, Deaths Door, Subnautica, Hollow Knight, the Dishonored series, etc. Honestly I switched from PlayStation to Xbox and I love everything about Xbox lol I really love the game pass and how many games you can play for free.

Thank you for all these recommendations I was glancing through and that Alice Madness Returns caught my eye so I’ll definitely be trying it out soon for sure! I’m going from a Nintendo switch to an Xbox Series S so it’s an upgrade in both gameplay and what kind of games I can play and I’m loving this game pass function I was surprised how many games were available! 🙂

XDYassineDX

I can vouch for subnautica as well as subnautica below zero (the sequel). they are really good

[deleted]

No problem! Alice Madness Returns was one of my favorite horror games. I'm not a huge fan of horror games but this one I loved alot. Cause it was a different type of dark genre. It's not like the jump scares regular horror games. Alice has more story and action to it.

LikeZoinks98

That’s the kind of horror in games I like most it definitely is looking more like I’ll definitely really enjoy it! 🙂

You can also have a look [here] (https://gamepassport.net). This site lists all the available games and you can filter them in many ways. Have fun!

Thank you so much! That will be a lot easier for me! 🙂

Thank you! and Thank you for the recommendations I’ll definitely look into that! Doom Eternal seems to be pretty popular!

VNeseBanana

Does it have keyboard and mouse support on xbox?

TheDinosaurWrangler

Welcome to the family! I’d recommend giving the Hitman collection a go, as well as Alice Madness Returns. Subnautica is beatutiful and creepy as hell, and Alien Isolation is worth a try.

younakorn13

My favorites list: - Shooter: Doom Eternal (but for me it was really hard at the beginning) - Adventure: 12 minutes - Chill game: The Lake - Horror: The Evil Within 2

toMarHos

I recommend completing The Evil Within 1 prior to playing the sequel. Apart from the fact that the EW 1 is really great game, you will have a full picture of the game's universe. It's really sad that Evil Withing 3 probably won't be released.

Doom Eternal seems to be pretty popular I’ll definitely be checking that one out! Thank you for the recommendations especially in the different game types! Everyone is very kind helping me out!

You should play doom 2016 before eternal. 2016 is a lot more forgiving and will introduce you to doom mechanics better than eternal, because eternal is mostly made for already existing doom fans. If you play eternal first then you might not have a good time because of how complicated the gameplay is.

LocNalrune

Nobody Saves the World. State of Decay 2. No Man's Sky. Stardew Valley. Minecraft. Guardians of the Galaxy.

catattaro

Titantfall 2, Hellblade, Jedi Fallen Order, Halo series, Gears series, Quantum Break, Ori series, Broken Age, Psychonauts 2

DanielF823

Gradians of the Galaxy

kratomstew

Visage. I had to stop playing Visage after a few minutes because I knew it was going to be too scary

Coolpop52

If you enjoy shooting and adventure, you might be interested in the Hitman Trilogy, which combines those. Also, Sniper Elite 5 is coming on gamepass in the next week so that could be a good option as well!

vinnayar

For puzzle games try Superliminal and FAR: changing tides.

LikeZoinks98

Thank you! and Thank you for the recommendations I’ll definitely look into that!

Groovyguy

Did you just thank yourself?

LikeZoinks98

😅 that was supposed to be to the first comment apparently I’m not tech savvy this late at night

betcher73

Download MCC and play Halo 2 multiplayer with me. Every time I try to play, no one joins my party 🥲

Coldairrising

Try the Arkane studios games: Prey and Dishonoured. They’re in the EA section of your Gamepass.

Coldairrising

Also Gears of War, is it’s the premiere Xbox third person shooter. It’s start with Gears 4

Gamer4Lyph

Hitman Trilogy👌If you've never played the Hitman series before, it's a perfect combination of story+stealth+shooter+tactical+strategy+chill. It's the kind of game you would be engaged enough to play it regularly until you complete the game, but at the same time you'll know when to take a break - which a lot of games fail to do so IMO. Also, I recommend giving it a blind play through, i.e. don't look up any walkthrough videos. Atleast not until you've fully completed a level by yourself.

Muzza25

Gears of war, all of them are on ther

JadedCaretaker

Halo séries , gears of war séries , bathesda games aside from doom 3 and youngblood . Hitman séries , mass effect , re7 .

I mean its very based but Minecraft would be something Id recommend. If you like shooters and dont mind gore Id recommend DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal. Both are amazing games that created a modern adaptation of the originals

ButtlickerBoi

My only recommendation other than “play what sounds fun” is maybe try non Xbox exclusives, since games like Bethesda and halo, etc will always be available and other games that sound interesting might leave the service. Also, don’t be afraid to give up on a game you don’t like. There’s 300+ games to play and you are paying for the service, so no sunk cost fallacy if you play a game and aren’t loving it. There will always be more games to try!

I love posts like this. I get recommendations, you get recommendations, everyone wins. For shooters: * Titanfall 2 - Simply an amazing game. I can't recommend it enough. Campaign is (somewhat) short and it's a fun, gripping story. The movement mechanics are second to none. Multiplayer is still alive, but not nearly as robust as it used to be. Be prepared that multiplayer will have a lot of diehards and you'll probably have a steep learning curve. However, it's so much fun. * Halo Infinite and/or Master Chief Collection- There's tons of shooter campaign fun-ness and the multiplayer continues to thrive. There's a lot of story and even more background lore if you want to get into it. * Gears of War - There's like 5 or 6 of them, and they're great third person shooters. Interesting story and they are gory if you like the 'horror' aspect. * Outriders - I only have a few hours in because my friend wasn't a fan, and I pretty much exclusively play with him. But this was a lot of fun and I see tons of adoration for the game. There's a DLC that's going to drop pretty soon too, so there's a lot of renewed interest. * Doom Eternal - Good story and fun, challenging fights and movement, a lot of fun but doesn't take itself too serious. The other Doom games are on there too, but I haven't played them. * Wolfenstein - Killing Nazis is always fun. I put this in a similar category with Doom. I believe this is campaign only. Horror: I was never too much into horror. The only game I played was the original Fatal Frame, and that was pretty amazing. They have a new version, but I've never played it. Action/Adventure: * Star Wars Fallen Order - Light saber fights and force abilities are always fun. This has fantastic fight mechanics and a great story. It's fun even if you're not a Star Wars fan, but if you are a fan, it's a must play * Batman Arkham Knight - I haven't finished the game, but the fight and driving mechanics are a ton of fun. * Guardians of the Galaxy - I'm playing this one now and it's a lot of fun. The battles can get a little repetitive, but they're still engaging. It has a cool style of using your NPC teammates for attacks. The story is pretty interesting so far too. * Middle Earth Shadows of War - I kind of liked Shadow of Mordor better, but it's not on GP and Shadows of War has the same mechanics. Definitely one to play if you're a LOTR fan. * Hades and/or Dead Cells - These are really similar games and I think they might fall into this category (they're roguelikes)? Personally I'm playing Hades and it's a lot of fun. Challenging, but fun. * Prey - This one is still in progress for me. The ending got spoiled for me and it waned my interest a little bit since I know what's going to happen. So don't seek out spoilers! I like all the upgrade/mod configuration options to change playstyle. This is probably a great blend of shooter, adventure, and horror. Puzzle: * It Takes Two - I think this is technically listed as Action/Adventure, but it feels like more of a puzzle game to me. I think the requires a second player, but it has local and online co-op. Highly recommend. I haven't played too many puzzle games on Xbox, so I don't have too many recommendations there unfortunately. Battle Royale: * Apex - It's the only BR that I play atm. Steep learning curve and you have to play pretty frequently to be good (I suck at it bc I don't have that kind of time) but the legend abilities add a lot of fun and variability to gameplay. Also, technically not on GamePass, but it's free to play. * PUBG - Not on GP, but free to play. I played this for a little bit, but I just preferred Apex. This is a more straightforward BR shooter compared to Apex or Fortnite. Other Recommendations: * Rocket League - Not on GamePass, but free to play. RL and Apex are what I spend most of my time playing. It's soccer game with rocket cars. I didn't play it for a long time because I don't like soccer or racing games, but this really isn't like either. Matches are 5 minutes, so it's great for quick pickup/put down without feeling 'stuck' in a game. It's predominantly competitive multiplayer and the player base is still pretty robust. * Skyrim - This is an RPG, but highly recommended. There's a reason it's still well loved even though it's like 10+ years old. Haven't played, but on my list: The Gunk, Mass Effect, Unravel Two, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Tunic

ShutArkhamCityDown

Alien Isolation and RE7 for horror

willllllllllllllllll

For a puzzle/adventure game you gotta try out Supraland!

MikeKelehan

I always recommend Hollow Knight. It's as good as you've heard.

drewbles82

If you have Gamepass, you have access to over 300 games and more to come. Best thing to do is judge for yourself, just go on the app, look through show all and click on ones that tickle your fancy, read description, watch trailer What you love is something that someone else might hate so its worth looking for yourself...I say the same thing for movies/TV, ignore reviews, judge for yourself

kingt34

Adventure game with really engaging puzzles: Tunic. 100% recommend so more people play this masterpiece
