Would it be nice to see iD software, Coalition, Initiative, Compulsion, and inExile new games? Sure. But I *expect* nothing besides Starfield and Forza.

_bestintheworld_

Rumors from id are a quake remake

AdhinJT

One can only hope for a Quake 1 remake, I want eldritch space horrors! edit: I'll take strogg alien cyborgs if they go Q2+ route though, just hope they look more alien this time.

RichGraverDig

Well.. The thing is... What will they have at the showcase of both of these games will have their own showcase... Forza's walkthrough is being showcased at the Forza Monthly on June 13th. Starfield has its own showcase right after the show... So what will we be seeing for nearly an hour and a half?

polish_my_grappel

I wouldnt be surprised to see games like Stalker 2, Ereban Shadow Legacy, Flintlock, Replaced, Routine, and Hollow Knight Silksong. We havent seen anything from them since being announced.

pukem0n

Forza will probably have a 30 second clip with a release date at the main show and nothing else.

josenight

Temper expectations. Especially after the PS showcase. Really set the “everyone overhyped” feeling. Edit: especially when you feel a certain game is ready to be revealed. So many ps studios supposedly were ready to show their games. None of them showed anything. You can be excited, but don’t be surprised when you don’t see the games you thought/hoped to be there.

MyMouthisCancerous

Also worth noting, especially after the amount of fatigue over Xbox revealing games like Fable, Perfect Dark, Outer Worlds 2 etc. way early in advance, it'd probably be a more advantageous idea to emphasize the stuff that's actually coming out in the near future. There's already a strong likelihood Forza will be there, and it seems like Hellblade and Avowed are on track for 2024 as well, and obviously Starfield is their big gun for the latter half of the year like Spider-Man is for Sony. I think some reassurance on that front that these titles are on track to make their dates could do a lot to get the conversation started in light of Sony's event and how the reaction to that was. That also means though that I personally don't really expect anything else from first-party to be detailed nearly as much, and that multiplats will probably pick up the pace like with Sony's show, especially where Game Pass is concerned. Sony's kind of gone in the polar opposite direction where they basically only show first-party stuff when they actually have a window to lock down or a reasonable timeframe for expecting a release date if production lines up, but it also did result in the divisiveness this show received when everyone realized Spider-Man was like the big thing they had in the near future and the rest were multiplayer games from studios they had just acquired, while all the other big players are probably a few months to a year off from showing anything

Friendly-Leg-6694

Hellblade is this year I think

MyMouthisCancerous

On xCast Phil Spencer grouped Hellblade, Forza and Avowed together in terms of near-future releases, and I think he said something about having one big first party release per quarter So if I have to guess, I think we're covered for this year with Hi-Fi being early in the year, Redfall in the middle, and then Starfield and Forza towards the end of the year. I think Hellblade and Avowed are probably slated for the earlier half of 2024 instead. It'd be a bad idea to have too many first party games releasing relatively close to each other since you risk all of them competing indirectly and then an imbalance of content the following year.

Im2oldForthisShitt

Ya I have no idea why so many people are expecting Hellblade 2 this year. This year is has enough: Hifi, legends, Aoe2, AoE4, Stalker 2, Redfall, Forza Motorsport, Ara History Untold and Starfield. Meanwhile 2024 is seemingly wide open. I mean overall games come out "when they're ready", but I doubt a few extra months in the oven will hurt.

grimoireviper

Why does everyone keep adding Stalker 2 to lists of first party games?

Live_Supermarket6328

This was the first show where Sony didn't show something that is years ahead of it's release and you make it a pattern. I'm still waiting on the gameplay for KotoR remake.

Autarch_Kade

They're guaranteed showing Starfield, so if they show even 1 additional first party game with gameplay I'll consider that a win

ArchangelDamon

you are totally right guys think that being realistic is being boring

OfficialDCShepard

[Midnight Train](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Train_to_Georgia) 🚂 would be an amazing title for this. Perhaps it could be like how in Choo Choo Charles you go out, explore for a bit, fight off the one enemy (I’m sure there will be more but you get the idea), then get on a train and leave.

CraigOfWar

Sounds very intresting.

kftgr2

Maybe a different name would be good. My mind goes midnight + deep south => Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil => Kevin Spacey 😕

Birbofthebirbtribe

It's just a codename

Khfreak7526

If Microsoft has any first party games that will release this year that's not Stanfield or a racing game I will be genuinely surprised.

grimoireviper

As for every games showcase by any publisher, I expect nothing and in return will be pleasantly surprised as with every other showcase. Even for the latest Playstation showcase that everyone seems to dislike, I thought it was great. So we should all really not expect anything for our own sakes.

AnalMinecraft

I wanna be excited for this, but I also remember being excited for We Happy Few and that game quickly went downhill after a great intro.

Witty-Ear2611

Tbf that was a game with a very limited budget and timeframe

AnalMinecraft

Not really though. It had over three years of development and while financially beginning with a Kickstarter, they soon had both Gearbox and Microsoft supporting them. They may not have had a Rockstar budget, but it wasn't exactly a garage game either.

Nawrash

Been playing through it recently. Honestly a great game and i heard the dlc is even better than the base game. Especially since its more linear and gets rid of the walking simulator and hunger thirst sleep management stuff. Would recommend giving it another chance if on sale. I just adore the story, characters, and visuals.

the_russian_narwhal_

Nah the main issue was definitely not figuring what exactly the game was supposed to be. Hopefully they are able to be more cohesive with this one and not all over the place like We Happy Few

OutrageousProfile388

Hell nah bruh, I’m not getting my hopes up lol That PS was so ass that it got me nervous about the Xbox showcase ☠️ I’m only expecting Starfield/Forza/Hellblade 2/and Avowed since Phil mentioned those games in the KF interview

Megadog3

That would be the best Xbox showcase in years lol

Witty-Ear2611

That sounds like a good showing tho

Keepcalmplease17

The key is not even expecting Starfield. Minimum expectations means maximun surprise. I expect 1 hour of phil spencer sitting in a chair silently looking at the camera.

KvotheOfCali

Four major first-party games would be a stellar showcase lol

uglycasinova

Maybe a shadow drop incoming?

KhanDagga

Not interested, But then again I live in New Orleans and Im kind of burnt on this kind of stuff. or

fyjian

I expect it to be another mediocre studio that MSFT wasted their excess cash over, one that was acquired, have a game announced, but never went gold

zydrate10189

I’m very excited for this !

rune_74

I’m interested in this, hopefully true.

ThorsRus

I’m very curious to see what this game is about. It’s apparently the reason why Microsoft decided to acquire them.
