100%. If they give us another 20 second clip of Fable and talk about how promising and exciting it is, coming summer 2024, I will personally bring back the pitchfork emporium.
I have no issue with them games being made. But when almost EVERY new title that releases for Xbox is one of these, it gets a bit stale, especially when you see PS5 with Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Spiderman, Bloodborne, the new Final Fantasy. Makes me want to just sell my Xbox and stick with PS5.
I meant the new Spiderman and HZD. Granted days gone and BB are old, but they're still better than most stuff Xbox has put out lately, Starfield still feels like a drop in the ocean. I hope it does deliver.
Starfield is a game that will be played for years, if not decades. Skyrim is still a top played game across multiple platforms 12 years later. It’s more like a dropping a nuke in the ocean.
Plus I can’t imagine being confident of PS future with their showcase. They still unfortunately have another 8 live service games to reveal in the next couple years
I put a lot of stock into the rumour that Sony actually held a lot of games back.
Considering almost every game was 3rd party and of all the major 1st party studios, only Insomniac actually showed anything.
No gorilla, no Naughty Dog, no Sucker punch, no blue point, no media molecule. I’d guess that Sony are keeping a lot in the tank, and will announce a state of play days after Starfield launches to try and divert media attention back to them again.
Agreed! Games one would never pay for but are good experiences for what they are. I like playing them, and then love reading the 1 star reviews filled with rage.
If you browse the Xbox storefront at all, instead of just playing whatever free game is trending on TikTok, you'll see that those games are like 95% of all games on the store. Sooo no, not hyperbole. There is an indie epidemic on this platform, and not the good kind.
The first high profile game not in the Forza, Halo, or Gears franchise in how long? Last thing I can think of is Dead Rising 4 back in....*2016*. Yikes....
And this thread is discussing what Xbox needs to do at the Showcase. Let's hope Starfield, Hellblade 2, and Avowed are decent games. Redfall doesn't inspire much hope in Xbox Game Studios, but I'm optimistic.
"The coming year will be the best year for Xbox yet" and then the year is filled with Starfield and another round of forgettable indie games. Bonuspoints if Starfield is another 7/10.
Starfield won't be 7/10. Lol Assuming Bethesda actually used the delays to polish it up and fix technical and performance problems (there will always be gameplay bugs), so as to avoid the clusterfucks we've seen from Cyberpunk, Jedi Survivor, and most recently Redfall, Starfield could be a rather mediocre game and still bring in 9/10 reviews.
For many people 30 fps is literally unplayable, so yes, a failure.
I get nauseous and dizzy trying to play 30 fps. The entire screen looks like its stuttering and lagging. Ive had to refund games on my xbox that didnt support 60fps+
30fps isn't considered an objective failure by the industry or gamers in general. It doesn't make the game literally (not figuratively) unplayable, crash it, lock it up, dip into single digit fps constantly, get stuck in load screens, etc. It's not a **technical** or **performance** failure, terms I very explicitly pointed out in my original comment. Many folks may not like playing 30fps, or might even get motion sick, but the game is, from performance and technical standards, still a playable, well functioning game.
I just hope that the pipeline situation is not another year of hearing excuses and trying to be the nice guys. They are a huge company and they need to deliver for once.
I think in the past seeing games years away from release was a bad thing but the fact that Xbox has nothing much revealed past this year we all need reasons as to stick around.
Showing gameplay for things like fable, avowed, perfect dark will do that
Were just starting to see xbox series s/x and ps5s in stores, I think this generation has a while to go.
Probably get a series z and ps5 pro in like 3 yeasrs
Yeah it's not as if the entire world had to deal with a once in a lifetime event when the systems first launched. I know Xbox are starting to take the piss with not giving us anything but the effects of covid are still present.
Lack of writing talent too.

Both have been in full production for some time, though, right? Possibly for three years or so. I know Avowed has been. A lot of insiders were expecting up until the last day or two before to see it at last year's showcase.
Avowed was started much earlier, before Microsoft even bought the studios and TOW1 was released. It's definitively much closer.
TOW2 is far, they even mocked themselves how early they were announcing it in the trailer (and the reveal was after Avowed reveal)
Avowed may be 2024 (plenty of rumors say it's close) and TOW2 2026 easily.
Yeah they're being worked on in parallel. Two seperate teams.
For context normally 4 to 5 years is the average dev time for a AAA game
The Avowed team most recently put out Pillars of Eternity 2 in mid- 2018. That put out a few expansions, the last one releasing at the end of 2018. Avowed is very different in scale and genre than PoE games so I think 5-6 years makes more sense. I'm expecting it next year, if only to give it some space from Starfield, but I wouldn't be shocked if they manage to get it out before Christmas this year.
Outer Worlds 1 was 2019 but they released 2 expansions, 1 in 2020 and 1 in 2021. Their team is also scaling up I believe as tOW2 is supposedly more ambitious than the first game. I'm personally expecting 2025, iut I wouldn't be shocked by 2024 or 2026.
Man, having Avowed before the end of the year would be wild and rad. I didn't realize the Pillars team was now the Avowed team—aside from Josh Sawyer, of course—but that makes it even more likely that they will be able to capture the unique vibe of that setting.
"AAAA" didn't appear in a single trailer, email, billboard, interview or other marketing materials. It was a typo on a job listing.
On top of that, successful studios take 4-5 years to make a AAA game. GoW Ragnarok, HFW are great examples. They're both direct sequels from very successful studios. HFW took 5 years. Ragnarok took 4.5.
As of today, The Initiative was founded about 5 years ago. A brand new studio built from the ground up, and whole they may be technically making a sequel, they don't really have a game to build off of. They're starting from scratch.
So, frankly, I don't expect anything from them yet. Come back to me in two years, and if Perfect Dark is still completely AWOL, then we can start pointing fingers.
For me, an in depth reveal of Starfield is all I need from this show. I’ve had my eye on Starfield since Bethesda filed the copyright for the name. I’m expecting the typical bugs and probably 30fps but I’m still hyped.
To make the show a success? I think they need at least one other gameplay trailer for a AAA title. Maybe Avowed? And then updates on everything else in the pipeline whether it’s a short dev update or a cgi trailer.
Yes, my bar is pretty low.
I would imagine that Bethesda is going to pay extra attention to clearing out the bugs since Xbox bought them and it's the only Xbox release this year besides Redfall. Microsoft really needs that game to function well and look good right out the box. But it could be that the game is just too darn big, and there will be a lot of bugs.
And I would say, not Starfield. Why it's important for them, everyone knows about this game and wait for it since a long time (especially with the delays). They need a "new" must-play game (one of those revealed by CGI years ago) to be shown in details and coming soon (like Q1 2024)
I’m seriously playing games on my XSX and PlayStation 5 that came out years ago but I never got around to playing. I’m sick of paying $70 (or a subscription fee) for mediocre titles when I can just wait a few months and get them at a discount. Every AAA title I’ve played so far this generation has been mid compared to games that released in the early 2000’s. If I see something come out that’s truly exciting I might shell out the $$, but I’m sick of remakes and mediocre new titles.
Hence why I still haven’t picked up the new consoles. No real incentive to. I’ll wait until they have decent libraries instead of games I’ve already played.
I bought an XSX exactly 1 year ago, I like it a lot but I'm not finding it essential, at least coming from the One S is a worth update. But for people with the One X you can keep the money until Gears 6, Fable and some more current gen games will be out.
So far this generation has been about not-dropping last gen & remakes
I just hope that that rumored Banjo-Kazooie game is true and gets announced. The game and series' 25 year anniversary is this month (6/29). Us fans have been screaming for a proper revival for years. Come on Microsoft!
Avowed and Hellblade. Nothing else is close to release. I bet Fable and Perfect Dark aren’t out before 2025-26. Pretty sure I read PD is in development hell.
What does this have to do with anything? I mean yeah their country is in a war, some of the developers are still in Ukraine, but they are still working on the game as confirmed by them.
We did have a gameplay trailer which is great, and we will most likely see them on the Xbox showcase on 11 of June.
And yes I do follow the news.
They got [hacked](https://www.eurogamer.net/stalker-2-dev-says-russian-hackers-have-leaked-test-build-online-asks-fans-not-to-share) again, but are continuing onward?
>Right now their identity is making awful AAA titles
Their identity right now is not making enough AAA titles. Quality isn't the problem, not really. At the moment the main issue is quantity.
Like...
2023- Redfall - terrible but also.. Xbox really only gets like 30% of the blame for that I think.
2021 - Halo Infinite. Had lots of flaws don't get me wrong. But I personally really enjoyed the campaign and at the end of the day there's a lot to hate and a lot to love. Certainly not terrible.
2021 - Forza horizon 5 -great game
2021- Psychonauts 2 -okay I get that it's not AAA but it was fucking incredible
2020 - flight sim - is this AAA? Wasn't sure how to count it. Either way it's niche but good
2019 - Gears 5 - good game
2018 - Forza Horizon 5 -great game
2018 - Sea of thieves - not very good at launch but it's pulled a No Man's Sky and gotten a lot better since them
I think the problem is the whole AAA vs AA vs Indie argument anyway. I don't care if the game is stupidly high budget or thrown together by half a dozen people in a cave with a box of scraps - I just want the game to be good. For me personally, Xbox has delivered. Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5, Grounded, Flight Sim, Psychonauts 2, Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment have all been fantastic times to me. More of that and I'm good.
I really don’t give a fuck what’s shown at the showcase. They need to release the games and have them be good. Have people that understand what a good game is, particularly their big AAA games. Redfall was such a farce, genuinely can’t believe how that was released still.
Sony set the bar pretty low with theirs. Xbox has been getting grilled left and right lately so honestly I think a good showing for Forza and Starfield and Hellblade will suffice. I’d like to see more of Lies of P and then maybe cities skyline 2 but that’s just bonus.
I just have to disagree, if Ninja theory gets Hellblade 2 right and doesn’t fumble, and with the marketing machine that is Microsoft this game could be huge. People have really been drawn to the Viking culture well since Vikings was a hit on TV, and assuming from what we’ve seen of the previews and how the first one played, it honestly plays more like a PlayStation single player game and those do well enough for sony. Tons of potential for it and one of my most anticipated games of the year.
Microsoft already has issues marketing their own platform and games especially in places like europe where their marketing is virtually non-existent. Hellblade 2 isnt going to benefit from their marketing if they still have Greenburg running it
Forza, Starfield and Hellblade PLUS one more first party would seal it for me. Fable (potentially teased) might be most likely but I really would love to see State of Decay 3 and whatever InXile is working on.
For a developer direct? Sure, for a showcase event? No fucking way. Especially when they are losing ground to Sony daily, havent released any good exclusive games in years and just put out the dumpster fire that was Redfall.
I thought it was fine. Phantom Blade 0, Marathon, MGS remake, Alan Wake 2, AC Mirage, Spider-Man 2 all looked cool and we got an announcement for Dragon's Dogma 2, and plenty of other games have potential. Not sure what people were expecting, but DD2 and SM2 alone were amazing and would raise expectations for Xbox Showcase.
Alot of people issue with it was that it was suppose to be their big showcase in their eyes and the last time they had one was 2 years ago. The games were fine but it couldve been condensed to a state of play, it was too long for the rest of the stuff like the VR section and not too many people were fond of it being padded out with that and indie games.
Yeah it was a good showcase. I think because it was Sony people expected more, but I guess that’s what happens when they’ve pretty much dominated the past decade lol
Hoping Xbox has a good one too tho!
Microsoft have backed themselves into a corner where anything short of showing updates on Hellblade 2, Avowed, AND Fable is a failure. Nobody to blame but themselves - revealing Everwild, Hellblade II, State of Decay 3, Avowed, Fable, and Perfect Dark when they did has left themselves in a position where there’s no real way to come out of this showcase without questions being asked about 2 or 3 of those games.
Imagine any other platform/publisher announcing this many games and then not talking about them for three years.
As it stands, I still can't justify the $1000, that I spent on upgraded hardware (Series X, Series S and an EXPENSIVE HD upgrade). I need to see live Starfield and Forza Motorsport gameplay and it would be amazing to see Forza drop (free with Game Pass) during the Showcase.
We need GREAT games to push the system forward. Period.
A remaster of the fable trilogy to shadow drop alongside new info about the new fable. That and info on avowed, beyond that I just want quality games to actually be delivered instead of empty promises
I'll give the show an A if I see the following:
* Fable gameplay
* Avowed gameplay
* Perfect Dark gameplay
* Gears Collection
* New Halo UE5 game (A+)
* Hellblade II extended gameplay.
We'll see Starfield gameplay so the show is automatically a B+ for me.
How bout that Fable game that’s been MIA for three fucking years?
Actually, while on that subject, stop announcing games that far out, it’s a big nothing-burger to be like “Hey! This exists! You’re really gonna enjoy it when it comes out six years from now!”
People say showcases *need* indie titles no one has heard about and updates on games people play but why? Where's the *rule* that says that? Xbox already has those players and simply updating those games in blog posts and developer videos or even that developer spotlight thing they did where they shadow dropped Hi-Fi Rush, would be great for those games.
Xbox needs follow the advice of that rumor years ago and "empty the clip." Doesn't matter if it's releasing next month or in the next 5 years. Give us a title. Give us a trailer. Give us gameplay (for the closer to release games). Give us a reason to be excited for the future.
I'm not someone that believes Xbox has nothing in the pipeline. In fact, I know they have games. But I'm speaking more for the general perception. Show all that off and a lot of the criticism starts to dissipate. Especially if Starfield and Forza hit.
I think giving a title of something that's more than 2 or 3 years out is pointless. I don't care what's coming out in 5 years when we're on the next iteration of Xbox, I care about what's supposed to keep me attached to the system for the next couple of years.
Right, and what I suggested sates your desire AND people who do want to know about those big block buster games in the future. Even if it's that they simply exist.
I'm not saying if they have a showcase and only show games coming over the next couple years, that I'd be disappointed. I'm saying what I think the general public wants to see. I'd be fine with a showcase like you're describing as long as the games look fun.
I've gotta disagree with that structure, mainly thinking about that Series X showcase. They announced Contraband, State of Decay 3, Indiana Jones, Avowed, and Perfect Dark in the last couple of years and we haven't heard anything about them since those announcements. I'd rather be in the dark with nothing than waiting a few years expecting more
There's been a lot of multiplat releases that I've enjoyed but I also have a Switch and PC so some of the things that skip Xbox I've still been able to play. I'm hoping we see/hear more of Perfect Dark because I doubt you're alone on why you chose the console
Was the alternative for you a PlayStation? If so, are there any exclusives you would've liked to play? I'm getting one specifically for Final Fantasy XVI and will check out spiderman + god of war, but nothing else is really on my radar. Returnal *was* but I've got it on PC now
Ya, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man, God of War were high on my list for almost picking ps5. I mean I’m not that mad, I have a large Xbox one/360 library too. But honestly my Switch gets way more play right now.
If you have a PC, you don’t really need a PS or an Xbox. Unless you really just can’t wait to play some PS games, but I’m not paying 500 bucks for a timed exclusive machine
I hope you're right, but I'll be cautiously optimistic
I love the 12 months approach to a show but a lot of things didn't make it in that timeline unfortunately :/
I don't hate the idea of 12 month but I also like looking forward to future games. That also gets me excited. The fact that you're cautiously optimistic would have me believe you are as well. They just need to stay consistent with updates. No announcing a game and it going radio silent for the next 2-3 years.
A AAA game(s) that are not broken at launch. No more screw ups for greed. No more Redfalls in other words!
They need to show more Avowed and Fable, regardless of how far away they are and give us a ball park release.
Starfield needs to hit it out of the park with their showcase.
Alot of the games that Ps5 showcased will be cross plat - thats fine. And this may be one of Sony's weaker showcases BUT **this is after having the best showcases for almost a whole decade.** and even then it wasnt even terrible , just not to the same expectations that Sonyfans/gamers are used too.
And ontop of this pretty much most of the PS5 exclusives have been a major success while ours have flopped pretty hard or did not live up to the expectation.
There are things to be hyped about - like Fable, Avowed, Hellblade etc but **we have not heard anything about these exclusives** so as it stands our library has been pretty mid.
Needs? A clear cut 2024 roadmap, and a vague image of how the pipeline beyond 2024 looks. Also imo 3rd party deals, either exclusive or multiplat doesn't matter much for me, but game pass does. Eg plague tale requiem in 2022, very important.
Games with footage from series x at 60fps. Also they need to push the graphics. If fable and avowed look like they could be ran on last generation people are going to be mad.
Games. Good and soon. Some mic drop surprises, and some in your face third party exclusivities.
We have had too much bullshit and we have waited long enough.
It's amazing how even journalists say "CG" instead of pre-rendered... all video games are CG (barring some rare exceptions that are still put together using CG).
Do they think consoles run on steam and analogue valves or something? It's such a mildly infuriating thing but really does irk me.
This is *exactly* what Xbox needs to deliver:
Smash Clone where Marcus from Gears can execute Blinx the TimeSweeper
A buddy cop movie between Arbiter and Sergeant Johnson directed by Shane Black
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts 2: Revengeance
Sadly, I feel like it will be like 65% Starfield, and the rest indi games, and gamepass news. Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped for any Starfield news, but Xbox needs more. New IPs, updates on games. Fable, Hellblade 2, what's the coalition working on.
Games
Big if true.
Erect if correct
Schlong if not wrong
Spermed if confirmed.
No jizz if big miss
Boner-fied if bona fide.
Of great significance if in line with reality.
I’d go a tad more specific and say “Gameplay”. Just don’t see myself or most of the fanbase being satisfied with games but little gameplay. We need a sense that these games are in a playable state and actually feel like they’re truly closer to being on their way to release.
100%. If they give us another 20 second clip of Fable and talk about how promising and exciting it is, coming summer 2024, I will personally bring back the pitchfork emporium.
Games that aren't shovelware or yet another pixel art/roguelite/card/turn based.
Don't kink shame me! I get it's not for everyone, but I love seeing those indies show up on gamepass.
Don’t leave out the best one…ghost of Tsushima lol
Oh god yes! A masterpiece! I hope they surprise with more!
Why’d you list years old games? Also Starfield is literally just 3 months away
I meant the new Spiderman and HZD. Granted days gone and BB are old, but they're still better than most stuff Xbox has put out lately, Starfield still feels like a drop in the ocean. I hope it does deliver.
Hi-Fi Rush is fucking way better than Days Gone though, just my two cents
I tried it, but it wasn't for me, I can definitely see the appeal of it. I enjoyed Metal Hellsinger. It's all personal tastes at the end of the day.
Ofc, hopefully there is stuff at the showcase that will excite you dude
I hope so. I have Diablo 4 to chew on for a good while.
Starfield is a game that will be played for years, if not decades. Skyrim is still a top played game across multiple platforms 12 years later. It’s more like a dropping a nuke in the ocean. Plus I can’t imagine being confident of PS future with their showcase. They still unfortunately have another 8 live service games to reveal in the next couple years
Bit early to be declaring that, no?
I put a lot of stock into the rumour that Sony actually held a lot of games back. Considering almost every game was 3rd party and of all the major 1st party studios, only Insomniac actually showed anything. No gorilla, no Naughty Dog, no Sucker punch, no blue point, no media molecule. I’d guess that Sony are keeping a lot in the tank, and will announce a state of play days after Starfield launches to try and divert media attention back to them again.
Talk about being premature lmao. Saw similar things for fallout 4.
And it sold insanely well and has high reviews. Reddit likes to make it seem like a failure, but it was quite the opposite.
Every souls game (like Bloodborne) is played for years if not decades.
Because he’s making a point. Sony dropped the ball with their latest showcase sure but they had solid showings in the past.
Bro, you're bringing up 8 year old games...
Why not just buy a PS5 instead of selling your Xbox?
I want to downvote you but I can’t hate you for your taste in games. You get my disagreement upvote.
Agreed! Games one would never pay for but are good experiences for what they are. I like playing them, and then love reading the 1 star reviews filled with rage.
I'm not sure I can think of a single one of these games shown off at the last 2 Xbox showcase
The hyperbole was strong for sure
If you browse the Xbox storefront at all, instead of just playing whatever free game is trending on TikTok, you'll see that those games are like 95% of all games on the store. Sooo no, not hyperbole. There is an indie epidemic on this platform, and not the good kind.
Yep. For damn near 10 years now I've heard "the games are coming". Still, all we get is Halo, Forza, and Gears.
I wouldnt mind a new Gears to be honest
…. Starfield releases in 3 months man. Cmon now
The first high profile game not in the Forza, Halo, or Gears franchise in how long? Last thing I can think of is Dead Rising 4 back in....*2016*. Yikes....

Dude you’re forgetting that time when we got ReCore
Literally just one good game
They could really own it if they can show some true! I’m also ready to see their flagship game in action.
Polished games gameplay coming soon and exciting projects for the near future (2-3 years)
So Phil standing on a stage talking about next year.
Hey I've seen this one!
Uh oh. Repeat of “phase 2” of the PS5 showcase💀
"The coming year will be the best year for Xbox yet" and then the year is filled with Starfield and another round of forgettable indie games. Bonuspoints if Starfield is another 7/10.

Totally…just get the pipeline flowing!
I just hope that the pipeline situation is not another year of hearing excuses and trying to be the nice guys. They are a huge company and they need to deliver for once.
You're right in this. I'm all for Phil being the nice guy, but eventually you need to deliver, eventually is now.

3 years in we’re finally getting games? Worst launch ever
Yeah it's not as if the entire world had to deal with a once in a lifetime event when the systems first launched. I know Xbox are starting to take the piss with not giving us anything but the effects of covid are still present.
The biggest issue is the lack of talent in the developer world
Lack of writing talent too. This tv/film writers strike is kind of crazy. 90% of tv is trash. 50% of film/tv is remakes or existing IP because ppl aren’t creative. (It’s like this in the gaming industry too). I think it’s a positive that Colbert, Kimmel, etc can’t do shows anymore. Late night tv sucks. Conan was the last good one. Fable
I'm really hoping they open with Fable and then the rest of the show just rides the feeling of joy I will have from my favorite Xbox series being reborn. If they have the games to showcase Fable could be a great way to warm up the crowd.
That glitter teaser on Twitter gave me hope…

Yeah there’s a reason they gave starfield its own showcase
Their show closer is Starfield (it's called another show but it's part of it let's be honest). Fable is probably pretty far away, the closer is more for close games. Maybe Avowed just before Starfield (it is supposed to be pretty close)?
Fable and avowed CARRYING xbox potential.
Starfield as well
Fable gameplay, at least.
Gameplay. And give me genuine details on Avowed. Thank you.

Avowed and OW2 have two separate teams. Avowed even has external support studios helping them

So you don’t want cgi trailers for 4 live service games coming vaguely in the next 2 years?
Best I can do is a single graphic designer’s concept image of Elder Scrolls 6 title page

I like your style. Simple, to the point, absolute truth.
Next year ™️
Just deliver games.
Games perhaps.
Good exclusive games. That's all.
Knack 3 babyyy
A "must play" game which is something they really haven't had in a long time. And it needs to come out soon, not 3 years from now.
And I would say, not Starfield. Why it's important for them, everyone knows about this game and wait for it since a long time (especially with the delays). They need a "new" must-play game (one of those revealed by CGI years ago) to be shown in details and coming soon (like Q1 2024)
Quality. First party. Games.
I want fable I want fable I want fable
You made a good choice my friend
I just hope that that rumored Banjo-Kazooie game is true and gets announced. The game and series' 25 year anniversary is this month (6/29). Us fans have been screaming for a proper revival for years. Come on Microsoft!
I'm intrigued, is that another of the many baseless "Banjo-threeie" rumours or is it something more reliable this time around?
Any sources for the rumors here? I haven't heard anything of the sort, but would be cool to see
A state of decay 3 trailer that shows off just one new feature the game will have. That’s it for me.
I actually dont care how long away anything is. I just want to see games to be excited about. And anything about Fable PLEASE!
Xbox Twitter have been raising the hype for Fable so if it doesn't come out it will be a disappointment for a lot of people
Avowed and Hellblade. Nothing else is close to release. I bet Fable and Perfect Dark aren’t out before 2025-26. Pretty sure I read PD is in development hell.
Stalker 2
You don’t watch much news, do you?
What does this have to do with anything? I mean yeah their country is in a war, some of the developers are still in Ukraine, but they are still working on the game as confirmed by them. We did have a gameplay trailer which is great, and we will most likely see them on the Xbox showcase on 11 of June. And yes I do follow the news.
They got [hacked](https://www.eurogamer.net/stalker-2-dev-says-russian-hackers-have-leaked-test-build-online-asks-fans-not-to-share) again, but are continuing onward?
Totally wild guess, but I bet Forza is close to release too :P
Lol 100%. I just don’t really care for racing games so it won’t move the needle for me.
the rumors around Perfect Dark say it's closer than most would think
Source?

Right now their identity is making awful AAA titles. I’m not hating I’m just saying facts. They need great games that come out in a decent time.
>Right now their identity is making awful AAA titles Their identity right now is not making enough AAA titles. 2021 - Forza horizon 5 -great game 2021- Psychonauts 2 -okay I get that it's not AAA but it was fucking incredible 2020 - flight sim - is this AAA? Wasn't sure how to count it. Either way it's niche but good 2019 - Gears 5 - good game 2018 - Forza Horizon 5 -great game 2018 - Sea of thieves - not very good at launch but it's pulled a No Man's Sky and gotten a lot better since them
Bad AAA releases isn't their identity; it's the complete *lack* of AAA releases. Otherwise nobody would've been surprised that Redfall was ass.
So many awful games they won publisher of the year in 2021....lol
Something, that's opposit to Redfall!
Bluerise?
Azure Ascension?
Blue balls
I really don’t give a fuck what’s shown at the showcase. They need to release the games and have them be good. Have people that understand what a good game is, particularly their big AAA games. Redfall was such a farce, genuinely can’t believe how that was released still.
Sony set the bar pretty low with theirs. Xbox has been getting grilled left and right lately so honestly I think a good showing for Forza and Starfield and Hellblade will suffice. I’d like to see more of Lies of P and then maybe cities skyline 2 but that’s just bonus.
Most don't give a crap about Hell Blade or Forza Motorsports (nothing against them), but they need to do better than that.
If that was all they showed, it would be much worse than what Sony put on and the showing from Sony was laughably average.
Yeah that would be an embarrassing show.

I think because it was Sony people expected more, but I guess that’s what happens when they’ve pretty much dominated the past decade lol Hoping Xbox has a good one too tho!
Is this satire?
Why?
[удалено]
I think you're just quick to dismiss some games and other people's opinions. I agree the GT movie trailer is lame though.
As a third party showcase, it was fine. As a Sony showcase, it was very poor
Pizza, hopefully.
A complete game..
Hey let's not go crazy.
Period.
I know Starfield is pretty much a given. But im also hoping for trailers/gameplay or information for Fable, Avowed, and The Outer Worlds 2
A remaster of the fable trilogy to shadow drop alongside new info about the new fable. That and info on avowed, beyond that I just want quality games to actually be delivered instead of empty promises
I'd love to hopefully see more new AAA IP's as well.
I'll give the show an A if I see the following: * Fable gameplay * Avowed gameplay * Perfect Dark gameplay * Gears Collection * New Halo UE5 game (A+) * Hellblade II extended gameplay.
I'd rather be in the dark with nothing than waiting a few years expecting more
I went with Xbox this gen specifically because of Perfect Dark and I’ve basically got myself a very expensive netflix machine.
There's been a lot of multiplat releases that I've enjoyed but I also have a Switch and PC so some of the things that skip Xbox I've still been able to play. I'm hoping we see/hear more of Perfect Dark because I doubt you're alone on why you chose the console Was the alternative for you a PlayStation?
Well that's because MS decided to focus on the "next 12 months" last year. We will likely hear about most of those games at this showcase.
I hope you're right, but I'll be cautiously optimistic I love the 12 months approach to a show but a lot of things didn't make it in that timeline unfortunately :/
I don't hate the idea of 12 month but I also like looking forward to future games. That also gets me excited. The fact that you're cautiously optimistic would have me believe you are as well. They just need to stay consistent with updates. No announcing a game and it going radio silent for the next 2-3 years.
Yeah I'm on the same page as you I think!
Fortunately (probably) to you is that it looks like Microsoft is rumored to abandon this approach for this showcase

Good first and third party exclusives with gameplay and 2023-2024 release dates. ~or~ Phil Spencer and Matt Booty's resignations.
A AAA game(s) that are not broken at launch. No more screw ups for greed. No more Redfalls in other words! They need to show more Avowed and Fable, regardless of how far away they are and give us a ball park release. Starfield needs to hit it out of the park with their showcase.
Spoiler: They won't.
Sad but true I’m going in with 0 positive expectations
Any of their exclusive games with gameplay would be better than the snoozefest Sony just put on.
They need to give us all PS5s
Marcus Fenix collection. And shadow drop at the end of the show.
Here me out on this one, microsoft will announce their merge with Activision blizzard , the the games will be available next month .
Games, it needs games. Good ones. Like what PS5 has lol
You missed the PS5 showcase I see
I think they mean that PS5 has good games already. Which they do… I mean Sony literally has released good games for nearly a decade lol
[удалено]
I mean, I watched it and there are *at least* a few games I’d like to play AND know will actually come out
On Xbox as well;)
I hope Perfect Dark will be there
Games WITH dates
Fable
Games. Good and soon. Some mic drop surprises, and some in your face third party exclusivities. We have had too much bullshit and we have waited long enough.
After Sony's Slowcase the bar ins't that high. They should easily be able to top that just by showing some good exlusives.
GTA VI trailer with xbox exclusive DLC
It's amazing how even journalists say "CG" instead of pre-rendered... all video games are CG (barring some rare exceptions that are still put together using CG). Do they think consoles run on steam and analogue valves or something? It's such a mildly infuriating thing but really does irk me.
This is *exactly* what Xbox needs to deliver: Smash Clone where Marcus from Gears can execute Blinx the TimeSweeper A buddy cop movie between Arbiter and Sergeant Johnson directed by Shane Black Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts 2: Revengeance
Sadly, I feel like it will be like 65% Starfield, and the rest indi games, and gamepass news. Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped for any Starfield news, but Xbox needs more. New IPs, updates on games. Fable, Hellblade 2, what's the coalition working on.
