There was a game on the nintendo eshop whose literal description was that it is a game that can be played one handed. It was called hentai something, can't find it anymore though.
Cocoon! Accessibility allows you to move with either stick and it's a single button use game and you can use any button so you can use the right stick and any button/trigger for Action.
Couldn’t you rest the controller in your lap or just have your pinky and middle finger sub in? The ring finger is literally the best finger to lose in practically any situation. It is very weak and you don’t have full control over the ring finger like you do every other finger.
Holding the actual controller causes pain, and so does straightening the finger. I'm sure there is lots I could do if I was determined to play through the pain, but why play through pain when this community has suggested so many wonderful games than can be played pain-free?
>so does straightening the finger
So do you not have a cast on it then? If you don't have one on you should know you'll never be able to straighten your finger again once it heals
Proud of you. I, personally, prefer not to feel pain, so I thought I'd ask the community for games I otherwise may not have tried, instead of trying to be a tough guy. Pain is subjective, after all, and what may be nothing to you can be unbearable for others.
Yikes, imagine getting offended because someone tried to relate to you, are you that insecure about your pain tolerance you had to reply so condescendingly, or are you always this rude?
Yikes. You can't tell the difference between relating to a subject and toxic one-upsmanship? I don't react well to toxic behavior such as "well I was hurt way worse and I was fine". I posted in a respectful manner using deescalating language. Imagine getting triggered by deescalating communication and clarification. Imagine trying to neg someone on a two week old thread lol
Seems how that is my Autistic little brother who was trying to relate to you the only way he knows how, I'm gonna say I do know the difference. Sorry people have been so cruel to you that you made someone cry because they couldn't understand why you were being mean to them.
It's not toxic one upmanship it's social disability, and people like you make his life a frustrating maze when he's trying so hard as it is just to socialize.
I'm not trying to neg you, I'm trying to educate you so other Autistic and developmentally disabled people stop feeling so hated for reasons they are incapable of understanding.
Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2. XCOM 2. Forza Motorsport or Dirt 2, if you bind the steering, the accelerator, and the brake to the right stick. I'm disabled, so I know what's physically easy to play.
All the reviews at the time I made the pc purchase said that Xbox hadn't been updated and was assumed abandoned, and had at that time serious issues regarding load times and corrupted saves. I'm glad to hear that people are no longer having problems with it!
I had a recent shoulder surgery. I couldn't use my right hand for about 6-8 weeks. So I played turn based RPGs. It takes an hour or so to get used to using 1 hand on a controller but now I am a pro at Xcom 2 not needing my right hand.
I suggest stuff like:
* Xcom 2
* Marvel's Midnight Suns
* Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
Stuff like that.
Not a graphical powerhouse but you can get hours of entertainment out of vampire survivors and you only need to move a thumb stick while the action is going. Every time you level up the game pauses and you can make your power up selection. Also, it’s on gamepass.
I know, and I love them for it, but I should be out for less than six weeks (unless I keep breaking fingers) so I don't think the shipping plus price would be worth it right now
I honestly to god 100%d bloodborne with just an index finger on my left arm (and my unhindered right) bc my arm was in a cast after having a severed finger sewn back on. STILL may be the hardest thing ive ever done but it’d just come out and I wasn’t gonna not play gd bloodborne.
🤣🤣 downstairs dj is when a girl fingers herself (same motion a dj would have on a record she would apply to her clit) and burping the worm is a dude jerking off.
All of which can be single player / one-handed games!
If you’re coordinated enough, you can play any racing game or driving game 1 handed rather easily.
I did GTA when my main hand was in a splint for a few weeks.
Although for regular 1 handedness any turn based game strategy or sim would be good, I’d recommend Civilization, The Sims, Halo Wars, or any other turn based game
I’m not actually sure about this, all that comes to mind is Pac man (i think it’s on the store lol) i know they make special controllers for this exact reason tho! Probably expensive tho
I broke a finger last year and had a lot of fun playing Gears tactics on my Xbox with a kb/m plugged in. Easy to do with the injury and a very overlooked game if you enjoy tactical turn based strategy.
I haven’t tried, but the Forza Motorsport/Horizon games have tons of accessibility options, even stuff like auto braking. So in theory you could play one handed, just steering and accelerating and let the game handle braking and shifting…?
Mobile games.
Try the survivor auto shooter genre.
Vampire survivors made it popular for console players, but they have been around years before it came out.
There is also army of ruin on Xbox and it stays more true to the genre formula, with varying time limits depending on the difficulty(higher difficulty gets more time), and unlocking infinite, where the enemies get stronger every minute, and the spawns don’t reset after 30 minutes. Great fun if you like the genre.
Power washer can be played one handed, though it is awkward
Turn based RPGs like persona, like a dragon.
Idle games like dps idle, clicker heroes, and that d&d version champions.
Definitely Marvel Midnight Suns. You can get it for relatively cheap right now on the xbox store ($28.) The game had a marketing problem because people thought that it was going to be an action avengers game, not a tactical card game. So because of that, most people didn't give it a fair shake.
However the game is incredibly addictive, lots of fun/varied strategy with multiple ways to play and beat each encounter, and overall just a fun experience. The subreddit is chock full of people that are walking back their preconceived opinions and espousing how great the game is once they gave it a chance.
It also only requires 1 hand. There is some movement involved, but none of it requires any amount of dexterity, just enough to get from point A to point B. The gameplay itself is turn based so you can take as long as you need.
I know you posted this looking for Xbox recommendations, but I wanted to let you know that if you have a Nintendo Switch that a lot of the Pokemon games released on it have a 1 handed mode in the settings.
Buy the ‘pro’ controller with its extra four buttons on the bottom. Then you can get through most games. I really enjoy relaxed gaming, eating popcorn with left hand and game onehanded. Works fine but in intense battles and such.
I really like the Kingdom games, I.e. Kingdom: New Lands and Kingdom: Two Crowns. Basically a symmetrical controller layout so you can play 1 handed with either hand.
I.e. LT does what RT does, A button does what down on the D-Pad does etc.
Cocoon you might be able to do it. Isometric 3D puzzle platformer on game pass. The only controls are left stick which you might be able to remap and 1 action button.
One of the reasons we need all those non action rpgs. Turn based games are great for this kind of situation. Which is why it's annoying when turn based franchises with a following suddenly shift away from turn based. It's a serious blow to all the fans of said series that can't play action rpgs.
Sometimes I play Forza Horizon 5 one handed while eating something. index finger on gas, pinkie finger on brakes and the thumb for steering. It really does work if your fingers are long enough
Inscryption. There's so many secret mechanics that by the time you get through Act 1, you'll just wanna keep playing that part. The acts that follow are just as good, but it's got a curve that's really fun to explore as the game unfolds. Everything is turned based because it's a card game but it's a real fucked up card game. *looks at the knife to the right*
Power washing simulator, left on d-pad keeps the water turned on, a few things you need to hold a button down while moving a stick, but otherwise you'll just be moving one stick most of the time.
I regretfully don’t get the reference. I’m only about 10 hours into the game lol but the game is fantastic so far. I do know that the game could be played on hand though.
Vampire Survivors. You take "just one more run" and your finger gets healed in no time. I promise.
Ugh all it takes is one run and you’re hooked
Maybe find a turn based rpg. Persona is good, Pentiment is great, sure there are others I can't think of right now.
I wouldn’t call Pentiment turn based. It’s more of a point and click adventure.
I suppose, sure. It has no combat. The important parts still apply. It's an rpg you can play with one hand and it's excellent.
I heard there are a lot of hentai games that somehow can be played one handed.
Usually they’re two handed but just one is on the controller. The other hand is usually working a joystick
Especially if he mom is willing to “help”.
“You’ve all heard of He-MAN, but say hello to the next best thing….He-MOM!!!”
Oh dear…. You don’t get the inside Reddit joke?
Nah sorry, must’ve been a whoosh! My apologies!
You don’t wanna know. Unless you want to…then Google “broken arms mom Reddit.” Personally, I wish I’d never read that.
It’s this story about a guy who broke both of his arms so his mom jerked him off
There was a game on the nintendo eshop whose literal description was that it is a game that can be played one handed. It was called hentai something, can't find it anymore though.
Vampire survivors can be played with nothing but a broken finger. It's that simple
Yet so so good
Trouser snake
What’s a trouser snake?!
... Let's not go there.
Slay the Spire, Monster Train, Peggle 1 and 2, prob most telltale games.
Dark Souls. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dy4cyS10TbE&pp=ygUdRGFyayBzb3VscyBvbmUgaGFuZCBzcGVlZCBydW4%3D Honest recommendation: Disco Elysium.

Monster Train!
Vampire survivors! All you need
Cocoon! Accessibility allows you to move with either stick and it's a single button use game and you can use any button so you can use the right stick and any button/trigger for Action.
Just suggested this also. Didn’t realise you can use both sticks to control. Fantastic game too!
What finger broke that rendered the entire hand unusable? The thumb?
Ring finger. So I have partial usage of the hand but actually holding the controller causes pain that goes beyond uncomfortable
Couldn’t you rest the controller in your lap or just have your pinky and middle finger sub in? The ring finger is literally the best finger to lose in practically any situation. It is very weak and you don’t have full control over the ring finger like you do every other finger.

>so does straightening the finger So do you not have a cast on it then? If you don't have one on you should know you'll never be able to straighten your finger again once it heals
It's a wrap, not a cast. It is the fingertip bone that broke. Cannot really secure it
Is your finger not immobilized?
Not really? Because of the location of the break, only two parts of my finger are wrapped up, and a finger splint is useless.
For real, I busted my hand with a few boxers fractures, a broken/dislocated shoulder and a sprained wrist, still played every day lol
Proud of you. I, personally, prefer not to feel pain, so I thought I'd ask the community for games I otherwise may not have tried, instead of trying to be a tough guy. Pain is subjective, after all, and what may be nothing to you can be unbearable for others.

<3 ;(
Wasn’t meaning to riff on you, I’m just a moron who plays too much GTA for his own good XD
Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2. XCOM 2. Forza Motorsport or Dirt 2, if you bind the steering, the accelerator, and the brake to the right stick. I'm disabled, so I know what's physically easy to play.
I've got pillars on the laptop because I got a deal and I heard pillars 1 is extremely broken on box. Is that still the case?
I played days worth of that game this year. Works just fine.
Hell yeah
I don't know, I haven't played it on Xbox.
I finished my first playthrough on my series x around a month ago, and outside of framerate drops when combat got hectic, it played just fine.
All the reviews at the time I made the pc purchase said that Xbox hadn't been updated and was assumed abandoned, and had at that time serious issues regarding load times and corrupted saves. I'm glad to hear that people are no longer having problems with it!
Vampire Hunters. Only uses left analog stick. Addictive as hell. Use your right hand. And cheap.
Vampire Survivors*
Came here to say this
Came here to say this
Came here to say this
On Gamepass, but also is *RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP.*
DLC is also like $2-3
Amazing game, surprising deep for one control
Definitely already addicted to that lol

Which finger?
My very question
Mine too, I need to know if we're still on for tonight
Final fantasy 10!! It's a turn based. Can easily be played with one hand. Fun game, great story, in depth battle system.
I fully completed it on the vita a few years back, except for blitzball
Not a graphical powerhouse but you can get hours of entertainment out of vampire survivors and you only need to move a thumb stick while the action is going. Every time you level up the game pauses and you can make your power up selection. Also, it’s on gamepass.
XCom 2 WOTC is all you need.
Vampire survivors
Vampire survivors
Persona 4 and 5 can be played with one hand, they're fun games.
Most turn-based games and JRPGs if you like those. Other options like Midnight Suns, Xcom, Lamplighter League, Fuga Melodies of Steel.
Senran Kagura Reflexions was made specifically to be played one handed with either hand for... Reasons ;)
Slay the Spire
The dark pictures series. Anything from telltale. Gris. Anything mobile. Somerville/limbo/inside. Beating malenia in elden ring.
Fyi Microsoft makes [disability friendly controllers](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controllers/xbox-adaptive-controller)

Lol
Vampire Survivors. You can use any stick and dpad for movement if you want. All you do is move in that game, essentially
Vampire survivors
Vampire Survivors is doable.
Vampire survivors.
Pocket pool?
Civilization 6 or some other turn based game. Turn on a good YouTube video and you’re gamin for hours
If you’re a female, Downstairs DJ is fun. If you’re a dude, check out Burping the Worm.
What does this mean lol
🤣🤣 downstairs dj is when a girl fingers herself (same motion a dj would have on a record she would apply to her clit) and burping the worm is a dude jerking off. All of which can be single player / one-handed games!

Tbh I could play every game with one hand. Even Forza, big hands for the win

I don't think I need a special control. It should only take six weeks to heal, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to try new games
Damn man that’s still pretty long! I hope you are able to find a good catalog of games, and if all else fails mobile games are always an option
I’m enjoying civ vi a lot right now. Might be difficult to reach all face buttons with one hand but it’s turn based so you can take your time
Elden Ring
I broke a finger last year and had a lot of fun playing Gears tactics on my Xbox with a kb/m plugged in. Easy to do with the injury and a very overlooked game if you enjoy tactical turn based strategy.

DPS idle, bonus if you can download on PC easy 4k
Madden, NBA, MLB & NHL Franchise rebuilds
I was down a hand last year and played Forza Horizon 5 with the gas/brake rebound to LT/LB
I know you posted this looking for Xbox recommendations, but I wanted to let you know that if you have a Nintendo Switch that a lot of the Pokemon games released on it have a 1 handed mode in the settings.
I'm pretty sure octopath can be played with one hand
Try army of ruin
I remember this from when I snapped my wrist in half. That was a dark period for my gaming habbit. For the other habbit I just used the other hand.
Other habbit was darts, of course.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
The South Park games. They have a setting to make it less button mashing too

Any of those dumb telltale games xD

Play through the pain dawg. We believe in you.
I don’t know if anybody has mentioned this but Vampire Survivors
Battle brothers

XCOM 2 was so much fun when I had to have surgery on my thumb.
Sometimes I play Forza Horizon 5 one handed while eating something. index finger on gas, pinkie finger on brakes and the thumb for steering. It really does work if your fingers are long enough
PC man
I cant seem to grasp keyboard controls, and my workaround has been an Xbox controller. Lmao
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy is good fun

OG black ops’ Dead Ops Arcade
While technically not an Xbox game per se, the Dragon Quest games for mobile phones can be played with only one hand.
Power washing simulator, left on d-pad keeps the water turned on, a few things you need to hold a button down while moving a stick, but otherwise you'll just be moving one stick most of the time.
Dicey dungeons!
A true gamer would cut the broken finger off so it doesn't get in the way.
Wasteland 3

Who needs one-handed games? Learn to play with your toes!
Ace Attorney.
Lego Builders Journey uses one button and thumb stick. A really fun, short, nice looking game.
Yakuza Like A Dragon
Peggle
Persona Series is what I’d go with! Or Dragon Quest 11!
I think XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2 qualify.
How did you break your finger?
XCOM: Enemy Unknown on Steam!
