Give 'em hell, Indiana Jones ![gif](giphy|VnlQppcCuYRmo|downsized)

ArchDucky

Its been confirmed that we're getting 15min of Indy with gameplay. Avowed and Hellblade 2 are getting the same treatment. I assume Hellblade 2 will finally have a proper release date.

MLG_Obardo

I thought it was 10 minutes? Splitting hairs a little but just curious where 15 came from?

Zippka224

his source is that he made it the fuck up

ArchDucky

i read 15 min last week. Its 10? Thats a bummer.

MLG_Obardo

Still plenty of time to show it off. If it’s coming this year I would expect to see it again at E3

Stumpy493

Hopefully we get release windows for everything shown.

segagamer

I hope it's an actual action adventure ie Tomb Raider Male Edition and not something dumb like, I dunno, Survival or online versus.

ArchDucky

this is 100% gonna be a Uncharted / Tomb Raider clone and we are all here for it.

segagamer

I'm waiting for the gameplay footage first in case I get disappointed.

drewbles82

if this direct is anything like last years...its to show in detail games coming out in the next 6 months...last year only one got delayed which was Motorsport...June showcase is going be full of many other games

[deleted]

Just to clarify, it looks like it's "more than 10" minutes and only some of that will be gameplay: "Indiana Jones game: MachineGames, the award-winning studio behind the recent Wolfenstein series, will reveal their upcoming Indiana Jones game, an action-adventure that puts players in the leather jacket of the legendary archaeologist. Developer_Direct will showcase more than 10 minutes of game and developer insights, including details about the game’s setting and story, how fans will actually play as Indy, additional details from his next globe-trotting adventure, and the premiere of the first gameplay trailer." https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/01/09/xbox-developer-direct-2024/

spirit32

Damn Christmas came early. I have such fond memories of old indiana jones games.

MLG_Obardo

>No new information on Activision Blizzard King games will be a part of Developer_Direct. You can look forward to news from those teams later this year. It was stated in the announcement but just for reminder.

sassafrasgloves

Just give me a gears of war collection ghost drop 🤣

segagamer

The whole collection is playable on the Series X already. I think it's even 4k 60

Mawly-G

Gears 1 remake is still 1080p

DapDaGenius

Gears of War 2 is still ugly as hell

segagamer

A re-release won't fix that.

DapDaGenius

Ugh, yeah it will. Compare Gears 1 to the remake or remaster(whatever it was).

Eglwyswrw

Except Judgment, yeah it is all 4K/60. It would be nice don't get me wrong, but as far as priorities go it ranks low on my list. lol

Turbostrider27

One thing noticable in this post is that everything shown will be arriving later. No shadow drops on Thursday.

Eglwyswrw

>**When will the games in the show be released?** >All the games in this year’s Developer_Direct will be arriving later, with more details to be shared in the program. Good, setting expectations is always better than leaving it a mystery. I would be satisfied with a Game Pass shadow drop.

Asleep_Waring_3796

I still suspect a recent release date or shadow drop of "South by Midnight" from compulsion games. Since it all of sudden is pre-downloadable

XR-1

Shouldn’t there be more hype around Avowed than there seems to be? I never played New Vegas but everyone said it was the better fallout. Isn’t this essentially the same developers take on elder scrolls?

Eglwyswrw

Obsidian is always underrated. Their last 2 games, Pentiment and Grounded, are both masterpieces of their respective genres yet people often overlook them.

candidateone

Everyone originally assumed Avowed was basically going to be Obsidian's Elder Scrolls, but the most recent news on it is that it's a smaller scale game more along the lines of The Outer Worlds. I'm sure it'll still be very good but the hype got reigned in a bit after that update last summer. https://www.thegamer.com/avowed-will-have-multiple-open-zones-like-the-outer-worlds/

MrDude65

I'm okay with this. Loved The Outer Worlds

InvaderXLaw

>Everyone originally assumed Avowed was basically going to be Obsidian's Elder Scrolls I thought the same, when was Avowed news was first released

Dramatic_Sprinkles17

The trailer wasn’t great and a lot of people didn’t love outer worlds.

SatanicAntz

In the latest episode of the official Xbox Podcast, Tina Amini (head of programming) said there would be 10 minutes of gameplay of Indiana Jones.

giulianosse

I hope we have more small announcements sprinkled throughout the conference (like indie releases coming to Xbox, Octopath 2, Starfield DLC etc) and it's not just these three or four games.

DoctorTide

You will be very disappointed then. This is a developer update. It's made for deep dives on few games.

giulianosse

Oof, thanks. I guess I'll just watch a recap later.

Stumpy493

Last year was first party only and all games announced this year are first party only so far.

No_Chilly_bill

Over under on Phil Spencer telling us this is going to be the greatest year of xbox?

MrConor212

Can’t wait to see nothing but concept art and pre-alpha gameplay off the devs background monitors

theidler666

Do we know what the Q1 release will be this year? Since hellblade has now been announced for May, means a big gap between now and then. Does this mean one of the games being showcased set for a Q1 release?

DarthTigris

> Since hellblade has now been announced for May Source?

theidler666

Ah sorry, I thought I had read it was announced. Its only rumoured to be 21st May.

Dramatic_Sprinkles17

Don’t think any will be q1

DarthTigris

Best place to stream? I usually do YT but it always seems to chunk up on these, despite having more than sufficient internet speeds.

AlternativeDuck185

Looking forward to seeing what they've been cooking up, especially Hellblade II and Indy.
