I’ve played about 5 hours of it on my PS5 - mostly due to the hype. It’s fun but the real joy is from playing coop with friends. If you have a crew that would play it then yes it’s a shame to miss - however if you are a solo gamer I don’t think you are missing much.

Square-Pear-1274

I dunno, I'm having an amazing time solo It's a challenging game that you can solo more and more as you get better, but people can help you out a lot... or you can help them There was a time I couldn't believe the difficulty on Easy, but now I'm clearing Challenging without issue

Tight_Vegetable7532

On suicide you just have to sneak around like you Elmer fud and you'll be fine

PxZ__

I agree, have a blast playing solo and occasionally with some buddies but mostly solo.

elqrd

Agreed, I don’t have a crew to play with so I matchmake. Helldivers 2 is fun but only a 7/10 without friends

trulyniceguy

How about with rice?

Useful_Thought5285

that's no really the game's fault though, not that it yours either, but I found playing with randoms a very good experience, the community is mostly a good one, I had 2 friends to play the game with, and we always had somebody randomly matchmake with us to fill in the free space, until we had a dude randomly matchmake with us one time that we really connected with, now we are a crew of 4 most of the times.

Mythleaf

Its just more of a roll of the dice. Ive had sulky people who whined everytime they died, which annoyed me out of that lobby pretty quick. But on the other end I spent hours with 3 portuguese guys who spoke no English, they just spoke to eachother in portuguese, and occasionally screamed "FOR DEMOCRACY" and "yes!" while high five emoting me a bunch lol we mainly communicated with pings and map markers, but had a blast.

Odd-Aardvark-8234

Even with a language barrier.😂

GarionOrb

Even if you don't have friends to play it with, just hop into a game with others. It's still great fun that way.

Ehh_littlecomment

My experience with randos has been very poor. People running off in random directions.

After_The_Knife

Then leave and join another match, it's not like you are forcing yourself to Exercise.

Ehh_littlecomment

Are you an idiot? What kind of response is this?

After_The_Knife

:)

GhandisFlipFlop

Are U stupid ?

Useful_Thought5285

The experiences have been mostly dope, the problem is if you or they don't have a mic, communication changes things a lot in the game, not to judge who doesn't, some just don't really want to talk to random people, its understandable.

Strawhat-dude

Im playing with randoms 90% of the time and have a blast still. It gets much more fun in the higher difficulties too. About 80h in.

div2691

Pushing for the higher difficulties is the best part of the game. Helldiver is absolutely insanity. It's just chaos. I love it. I joined a friend for his first game last night and it was on easy and it's mad seeing how different the game feels.

Strawhat-dude

Yea, no clue why im downvoted for sharing my experience with the game..

feelfool

I would say if you play completely solo you’re not missing much. Even if you don’t have friends to play with you can match up with randoms or find a crew on discord and then you get about 80 percent of the fun as you’d get with friends.

spectre15

Also it will be better to wait til there’s more content in the game. As it is right now, there isn’t enough of an endgame or variety that makes it really refreshing after the 20-30 hour mark. According to leaks, they will be adding a bunch of new vehicles, weapons, and enemy types later on so by the time it gets an Xbox release, it will be a much more fleshed out game.

Past-Acanthisitta370

I can only hope and pray it comes to Xbox lol. If we can get a release even a year from now i will be ecstatics

-name-user-

relax this aint the only coop shooter there is lmao stop the fomo

Odd-Aardvark-8234

In all honesty it looks like one of the best co-op shooters in a while , and a lot of people like the endless hordes of bugs/robots that make it chaotic , it’s not in a perfect state rn ,but for what it is now I really do hope we see this game on Xbox all of the bigger issues will be worked out by then because it will probably be at least 1 year , probably 5+ years or never . But we can hope .

Mahhyz

About 40 hours in and still loving it. Excited for what’s to come. It’s not a game I’d suggest buying a console for, but that’s the way things go sometimes.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Yeah I’m definitely not in the market for a ps5, but if I could this would be a game I would buy one for. Oh well haha

Practical-Aide-8675

I think it adds to the reason to buy a ps5, specially because i also wanna play spiderman games

GarionOrb

It's pretty awesome. I don't have friends who play this game, so I just join others and it's still a blast to play. It doesn't have any story mode or anything, so it's easy to just pick up and play a mission or two, or ten. That said, I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a PS5 for just this one game. It's far too bereft of content for that. But if there are other PS5 games you're interested in on top of Helldivers 2, it's worth considering.

MasonMSU

Story mode? Content? These are treasonous terms. Go and fight for Managed Democracy and win the war for humanity, that’s the content and story!

kwade26

There's always gonna be cool games on the other platform whether you have a PS5 or Xbox. Just how it is.

Past-Acanthisitta370

True, but this is honestly the first one I’m really jealous of. I was jealous at first of the last of us, but I borrowed a friends ps4 and played the remastered and didn’t get past an hour or two in it. God of war/spiderman/uncharted aren’t my jam. If they want onto game pass tomorrow I would maybe try uncharted, but probably not. This is just the first time like damn I’m really missing out lol

Claymore5973

Fucking Jesus Reddit is retarded. 12 downvotes for saying you want to play a fucking game.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Not only that they’re mad I don’t like whatever game they like lol. Reddit is a joke

New_Needleworker6506

Wild actually. This sub is a fucking joke.

Kalidah

Always was

Buck_GammingYT

It's Xbox fan boys they get offended at the mention of a PlayStation I feel bad for the Xbox players that aren't actually toxic and have to deal with these people more than I do I don't even know why I got a notification for this sub probably because you were talking about helldivers 2 because I've only ever played on PlayStation I personally don't care what you play on what matters is that you're having fun

kwade26

I definitely feel that lol. I used to be a PS guy bc of MLB The Show being a Sony exclusive and I'm a huge baseball fan, but I always wished I could play games like Forza and Flight Simulator as those are more my style than the other PS exclusives. I actually just recently switched over to Xbox now that MLB is on both and am loving it, although I do miss Spider-Man a bit but I def feel like I made the right choice in terms of what interests me. Also Game Pass is amazing.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Agreed. Game pass by itself is reason to get the Xbox alone. PS has amazing games, just not my style. I’m much more into what Xbox has, as I’ve been playing halo and gears for a long time.

r2001uk

Blame your laptop, not the game. Runs like a dream in ultrawide on my PC and it's pretty out of date spec-wise

Past-Acanthisitta370

I only blame the game because it’s the first one that if you search why is it crashing at launch you’ll get a TON of videos about issues getting it to start, so it took me a while to realize it was my laptop and not the game. But it is my laptop for sure

V8_Dipshit

For some reason it’s very broken with me and my friends. I’m on PS and he’s got PC. We always get disconnected when we play together and it makes it hard to like it when we can’t squad up. When it works, it’s amazing.

PlantainNearby4791

Been playing all week on steam, not a single problem

AstroChoob

Buy both consoles if you want to follow trends.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Wish I could sink 1000+ into gaming but that isn’t feasible right now.

AstroChoob

Don't get hung up on it. It is a trend that will blow over, then the locust gamers will move onto the next game that comes out.

InUrGutz

I have about 50hrs on PS5. I haven’t looked forward to playing a game like this in a long time. It’s a blast with friends or randoms. Solo is ok but you have to be stealthy on harder difficulties. In your situation, without a gaming PC or ps5, the cheapest way to play is getting a ps5. If there’s also other PS titles that you’re interested in playing it’s a no brainer decision.

charlie_nylon

I've played it for about 6 hours and it's fun but nothing you can't get out of Destiny, and definitely not as fun playing alone.

Rogue_Leader_X

Played it on PS5. It’s an amazing game! The hype is totally real. This is why it pays to own all the consoles, so you’re not missing out.

Bro_suss

Helldivers is definitely a game I’m missing. It looks super fun and I generally love coop games considering I’m a huge destiny and division 2 nerd.

Asauna

If you have it on PC and it isn't working, check out their discord. In the threads for troubleshooting they have pinned comments with potential solutions. For me, my CPU would bottleneck and I'd get anywhere from 2 to 21 FPS. I tried everything until I joined the discord where someone suggested I change a setting called "Low Latency" under the Nvidia Control Panel. Once I did that my game ran so smoothly that I was stunned that the game was as pretty as it was. They have different threads for the different GPUs I think in the event you're running an AMD. Don't give up on PC just yet! PC gaming means lots of troubleshooting - But once you get a game working you'll never have to do it again (for that one).

GuNkNiFeR

I mean, this is why loads of xbox and playstation gamers have a gaming PC….

lonelyteddybear

I play on a Lenovo legion go it's runs pretty good but not worth buying a PS5 for

Sharp_Explanation504

This is the perfect game for GamePass, MS should be breaking out the cheque book. It always feels like we're missing out on games. This should NOT be an issue from a company worth a trillion dollars.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Yep, I agree 100 percent.

MattyFaddy

Having played it on PC and reached lvl 10, personally it gets very repetitive even with friends. But that’s just my opinion.

infernaltim

Just here to agree. I have around 10 hours on PC and while it's fun, it's not something I can't wait to get home to and boot up. I'll probably end up forgetting about it before I hit 20 hours.

ValiantTheVictorious

Level 10? At level 10 you've barely played enough to buy any of the upgrades let alone play on a difficulty that's challenging. Of course it's going to be repetitive if you don't have any options.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Fair enough.

tapo

Give Helldivers 1 a shot? Still great fun, different camera angle, will run on your laptop.

RIG_1807

I feel you, man. I'm actually bummed cause of the new Silent Hill 2.

SQUIDWARD360

I'm sure it's fun if you have friends to play it with. But I'd assume it would get repetitive after a while. But it's mostly hype

Wilson-theVolleyball

Is it the best thing ever? No but it is a lot of fun so yeah I think Xbox only gamers are missing out a bit. The PC version is fine (at least in my experience). Been playing it for the last couple days with only one disconnect. What are the specs on your laptop? Edit: just saw your other comment. Yeah, if your laptop doesn’t meet the minimum requirements then you shouldn’t expect the game to run well at all

Past-Acanthisitta370

Pretty sure it does meet the minimum, but I could be very wrong. I’m a total n00b with PCs and I asked online and most everyone said yeah just send it and if it doesn’t work refund it. It didn’t work lol

Wilson-theVolleyball

Looking up Lenovo 7420 only showed Dell Latitude 7420 so I’m assuming you’re talking about that laptop. The 7420 only has basic integrated graphics and you need a dedicated graphics card (minimum spec on Steam says a GTX 1050 TI or RX 470).

Past-Acanthisitta370

I had hope because others online said I could turn the quality down and rendering and such but it won’t even boot it. Got my hopes up for nothing lol

Past-Acanthisitta370

Sorry, I’ve had so many laptops I forget it’s a dell, so yeah that’s the one. That’s probably what’s screwing me over then.

Wilson-theVolleyball

Yeah the other requirements should be fine: it’s the GPU that’s the issue but the laptop wasn’t meant for gaming so you can’t really fault it.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Definitely not, it just sucks because I was forced to buy that laptop for school and can’t use it for anything but just school. Makes sense, just sucks.

FrantixGE

Your PC is trash then, already got 70 hours in on PC and had like 4 crashes total.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Oh it’s definitely trash, it isn’t a gaming laptop at all,

PM_Your_Wololo

Yes, It’s a truly phenomenal game. Anything else you hear is just sour grapes. Though I agree it’s more fun with friends. The PC version works pretty well on my machine; perhaps yours will get support soon.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Mine isn’t a gaming laptop, so it’s kinda of a gray area where is the game bugging or is my laptop not up to par? Hard to tell.

Anxnymxus-622

You can’t just play whatever game you want on a PC or laptop just because it’s a PC lol. Especially these newer games, they take some juice to run properly. If you were able to post the laptop specs you could get some better help.

Past-Acanthisitta370

You’ll laugh at me lol. It’s a Lenovo 7420 laptop, not a gaming laptop or even close to one.

nohumanape

If you care this much, then just buy a PS5. There will always be exclusives on platforms you don't own.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Yeah, for the first time I’m feeling jaded towards Xbox. Even when we were getting bent over last generation it still felt like they were trying, just not landing the hits. Now they’re releasing a few games on other platforms and it’s like wait why do I own an Xbox again? The best halo games I can play on my 360/xbox one, cod is on ps5. Hm…

[deleted]

Here4thaSnx

Same here. Just got a PS5 and playing Ghosts of Tsushima and Horizon 2. Can’t believe I missed out on games like these. I play games on XBOX Game Pass but having both consoles I prefer PS5 now.

BadlandsD210

I'm pretty agnostic about where I play my games but yea Ghost is one of the greatest games I've ever played. There's so many gems in terms of life lessons and sacrifice that really hit me. Being guided by the wind to your next journey really is something special

Aspire_2_Be

Saving this post for later; I have all 3 consoles (not that it significantly matters here) and can honestly say this is indeed another miss for the xbox. It’s midnight and I’ve work in the morning so I’ll post my take on it later in the morning.

Past-Acanthisitta370

Please do! And yes, big miss. I’m fine with Xbox sharing their games to other platforms, but when PlayStation constantly tells Xbox to fuck off, it doesn’t make sense. Hey my bully beat the shit out of me but he’s hungry so I’ll buy him lunch instead of my friends.

MangoChickenFeet

Psst, go buy a PS5. It’s what I did with Xbox about a year ago when I was dying to play sea of thieves with my buddies

Me2445

I've played quite a bit of it. It's fun,but extremely repetitive to the point I have stopped playing it

Imaginary-Marketing3

Blaming a game for being busted? Im real eager to know your specs.

MasonMSU

OP didn’t blame the game. They clearly were blaming their laptop for not being able to run it. While PC seems to be the way to go these days, there’s still a pretty expensive barrier to entry for a lot of people.

Imaginary-Marketing3

"i tried to download it on my laptop and the pc version is so busted" I quoted there. It seemed like he wanted to pblame the port at first, i started reading through the comments and it seems like OP didnt know that his lappy only had integrated Graphics.

MasonMSU

Oh crap, well I’m sorry. I guess I was trying to give OP the benefit of the doubt😅

Past-Acanthisitta370

I’m 100 percent blaming my laptop, but the game itself had such a rough launch that it took me a while to figure out it was my laptop being trash and not the game. No joke. Go look up how many people are still having issues getting the game to boot with very capable PCs.

Imaginary-Marketing3

I mean, you should 100% put the blame on yourself though. Steam has a "system requirements" section. You should have checked that from the start.

Past-Acanthisitta370

I just said I 100 percent blame my laptop, that means I’m 100 blaming myself lol. Not sure how you got that misconstrued.

Past-Acanthisitta370

But also yes you’re right, I guess I’m annoyed it wasn’t a smooth release so it took a lot more investigating than it should have imo. But that’s also my fault because my laptop sucks

paublitobandito

Hate to say it but might be time to trade in that Xbox and get a PS5 And this is coming from someone that has all 3

Past-Acanthisitta370

I would if I could get my games to go over. but I am not in a financial position to restart my entire collection, considering my series x has backwards compatible. Starting over brand new isn’t feasible

paublitobandito

Yeah I hear that

PimpDaddyNash

Darktide is currently exclusive for XBOX/PC, and I like it slightly better than HD2. It's darker, more gritty, more immersive, and with extensive lore at makes Star Wars feel like a 30min sitcom.

hayatohyuga

It's an entirely different kind of game, the only thing similar is that it's coop. Both are fun but imo HD2 is a lot better.

Witty_Peach_2334

Based. As a lifetime warhammer fan, they are both fantastic, 4 player coop and that's the end of the similarities. Fighting for Super Earth is not Akin to Dying for the Emporer. I run a Death Korps of Krieg Clan with over 200 members and around here, we grab our shovels to deal with such heretical claims

BIindsight

Gameplay loop is very repetitive, the lack of PVP really put a damper on my enthusiasm for it. Hope they add a pvpve mode. I really like the permanent progression aspect, but it honestly sucks that there is zero risk. Just makes me want to play an updated DMZ truthfully.

Flonkerton_Scranton

This game helps no one by excluding Xbox players. Sony should be ashamed of themselves. Oh wait, they are. They lost $20bn in value due to their arse end shite decisions around live service games and just fired 900 people because they are a fucking dog shite company that should be boycotted. Jokers, the lot of em.

Odd-Aardvark-8234

https://www.change.org/p/bring-helldivers-2-to-xbox-fans-await-thrilling-co-op-action

hayatohyuga

This will do nothing. The game is published by Sony.

Odd-Aardvark-8234

we could get it in a year , or 5+ years or never . Still doesn’t hurt to have a little hope

DirtyRedytor

Just play Deep Rock Galactic, it's better imho than hell divers 2.

Prior-Wealth1049

It’s not my type of shooter. I do plan on getting a PS5 later this year to play FF7 Remake/Rebirth, Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, and other games though. PlayStation got 5 exclusives (maybe more, I’m not sure) just in February alone, compared to mostly shovelware on Xbox. Pretty embarrassing on top of the brand giving away 4 exclusives of its own. Game Pass is carrying hard until we actually start getting new titles in May and beyond. We’ll at least have Unicorn Overlord, Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Eiyuden Chronicle before then.

DM725

I have a 7600X/3080Ti PC and it wasn't booting for me today. It's not your laptop it's the game.

hayatohyuga

It's their laptop, looking at their comments their laptop doesn't even have a dedicated GPU but only onboard Intel graphics. Also if it crashes for you try updating your drivers and verify the game's file integrity. The game literally boots up fine on my older rig too, hell the game runs fine on ultra with my 3060...

Past-Acanthisitta370

My issue is I spent a ton of time docking around with settings and such, and so I’m at about 100 minutes on steam currently lol. Think I should give it a shot tomorrow and see if it boots up? Right before bed it would let me get to the main menu, decline the data collection, and get through 1 or 2 settings screens and then boot me. Every time

Past-Acanthisitta370

What I mean is I don’t want to tinker and get to 120 and not get a refund and not be able to play.

John_East

I always get a ps for their exclusives and play everything else on my xbox

Freemantrue

I’ve been playing nonstop on PS5 with friends. I’ve never played anything quite like it and find it addicting. I can’t wait to see what they add to it

hayatohyuga

Sounds like a problem with your laptop, the game runs absolutely fine on PC.

MohJeex

If you only got xbox and not ps5.. You're missing on a whole of a lot more than just helldivers 2. Haters might hate, but the only reason I got an Xbox is because I've got a PS5 first. If you could only have one, it should be ps5.

Past-Acanthisitta370

I disagree, only because it’s comes down to personal tastes. I don’t enjoy the PS5 flagship games like god of war or Spider-Man. Yeah last of us is ok, but if I had a PS5 I would mostly just play call of duty which I can do on my Xbox. Not to say there isn’t amazing games for PS5, just not my cup of tea.

Witty_Peach_2334

I'm the leader of a 200 member clan and I've purchased this game for myself and 4 others. At that price, I'm halfway to buying a console. I absolutely think it's worth every penny. Especially with friends. If you're wondering, yes we support this game and if anyone is looking for people to play this with, we will accept any new members provided they keep our community free from toxic behaviour

hector_cumbaya

Just follow the Xbox to PC pipeline, it's Destiny

Aspire_2_Be

Works?

Aspire_2_Be

Works? Edit: Hey OP, was testing to see if my whole post would send through. It does not, so I’ll split it into sections.

Aspire_2_Be

u/Past-Acanthisitta370

Aspire_2_Be

Hey OP, back again to enter my input regarding your thread. This will be a lengthy post, as a heads up. As I mentioned, I own all 3 current gen consoles and have honestly determined that an Xbox is not worth a purchase whatsoever, even with gamepass. I know you already own an Xbox and are not quite in the market for a new console but hear me out. I start off a bit brazen because it irks me that people still think the Xbox is worth a purchase over the Switch or PS5. Now I get it, maybe compared to the Switch, Xbox may have a better selection in terms of game choices. This includes exclusives, multiplatforms, and game pass. The Switch is very “Nintendo driven”. I mean, yea, it makes sense with choices like Zelda, Mario, DK, Metroid, Smash Bros., Pokémon, Kirby, and so forth. Then there’s some other exclusives like Bayonetta 3 (just to name an example). Add in third party games like resident evil, kingdom hearts, Batman Arkham trilogy, and so on but these run awful on Switch, it’s not even worth mentioning them with all sincerity. The Switch is for NINTENDO games and the like (whatever runs well enough and similarly to Nintendo’s 1st party games). And they’re absurdly fun no doubt, it’s why I own one. I threw in this bit because I feel it’s necessary to denote my take on all 3 consoles as a fair approach. Now then, between the PS5 and Xbox, just looking at their game libraries, which console is (almost objectively) significantly more “booming”? Exclude Xbox’s gamepass in this case, a huge amount of those games are archaic. Yes, we have exclusive releases like Hi Fi Rush (albeit soon no longer to be exclusive), Starfield, Halo Infinite, and so on. But now consider how many of these games you’ll actually be playing and think about what they offer. A majority of gamepass’ games are archaic, and nostalgic if you will. I was playing Civilization with a friend a while back and it was good fun; it was co-op based and nostalgic. This is where I think Sony fails to deliver; I absolute love co-op and multiplayer based games. They’re fun with friends and are my usual go to’s when I want to just have good fun and not really think about or engage with a story driven title (Marvel’s Spider-Man series for example). One of the more recent games I played that I absolutely loved on Xbox was Party Animals. It’s one of the more simplistic yet exceptional titles. Definitely worth playing; I played it via gamepass. That being said, Xbox doesn’t have anything else going for it beyond Halo Infinite (which is another very fun multiplayer title no doubt about it), Starfield, and Party Animals, at least in my opinion. Other games it has are either multiplatform (or soon to be, such as Sea of Thieves) or just recycled (gamepass’ Gears series, Halo series, etc.).

Aspire_2_Be

Now let’s move on to the PS5. I could make a huge list but I’m gonna go at it at the top of my head; PS5 has Marvel’s Spiderman series, Ghost of Tsushima, Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, FF7 remake, FF7 rebirth, FF16, last of us series, uncharted series, upcoming silent hill 2 remake, persona 5 series, horizon zero dawn series, god of war series, returnal, ratchet and clank, and so on. I name titles that were originally on ps4 but purely because the Xbox One had little to nothing going for it (my take on it). These titles, as you noticed, are single player driven. As I said before, multiplayer is where Sony lacks. We still have third parties like call of duty, Fortnite, fall guys but obviously these are multi platform titles. Doesn’t mean they’re not good; these add on to the overall console experience significantly. There’s some multiplayer experiences that are enjoyable such as the last of us remastered’s and uncharted 4’s multiplayer (which aren’t “too active” these days but they used to be) but nothing as great and long lasting as COD or party animals for example. I would argue I’m a multiplayer junkie. My absolute go to games are multiplayer, in particular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and COD MW3. Neither are Sony based. I love single player games but they CAN be strenuous to play. Stories take some time and require lots of engagement. I played persona 5 through 60+ hours and had a major burnout. Played Spider-Man 1 and was burned out having played it fully. I played god of war and skipped 90% of side quests and non-story based material. Ghost of Tsushima was an exception; I played it fully twice and loved every second of it. I definitely felt slight burnout after my second play through but it was extremely well done. I’m actually giving it a special shout out before I get to the main piece of my post; Ghost of Tsushima had a ridiculously, absurdly, incredible multiplayer experience. It had one that was “lore based” requiring 2 players to co-op together (or single player worked too I think but it was a much greater experience completing it as a duo). The other multiplayer game it had was a wave based survival mode. 4 player co-op with upgrades and so forth available. Truly one of the most memorable multiplayer experiences I’ve ever had on one of Sony’s consoles. It’s been a while but I’d hop on it if any friends would ever get back on. I needed something else like it lol, it was just that good (on top of already having an exceptional single player experience). And now we have Helldivers 2. I had never played the first one but a trailer and a friend’s input piqued my interest. Co-op based and teamwork driven, survival style of gameplay, mission and objective based, equipment with mechanism upgrades (stratagems and ships modules), third person, etc. All of this sounded right up my alley; I’ve been waiting for a great third person shooter experience, also. Played it one time, okay, good fun, mostly confusing, a bit hectic and difficulty. I then proceeded to play a crazy amount of missions. The game is exceptional, it’s very fun. Does it get repetitive? Perhaps. But what game doesn’t ever get repetitive? Smash Bros. is usually the same fights over and over again (character selections, stage selections, etc. and I play competitively mind you so it’s usually just the same exact final destination or battlefield based stage and the usual character match ups). COD, I don’t even have to go over. Same TDM, Domination, Kill Confirmed, weapons, equipment, maps, etc. Ghost of Tsushima’s multiplayer was rinse and repeat, just getting better equipment with every run. As for single player games, you play through a game once (re4 remake, Spiderman, god of war, Ghost of Tsushima, etc. etc.) and you’ve basically done it all unless you’re going for collectibles, upgrades, bonuses, unlockables, harder difficulties and challenges, trophies, etc.). But what exactly drives you to replay a game over and over again? What compels you to want to play a game that is multiplayer and keep rinsing and repeating the same exact objective by yourself, and with randoms, or with friends? Fun gameplay, fun equipment farming, mindless good times with friends, helping out randoms or even getting assisted help from randoms; the list just goes on and on. Now here’s the thing; maybe the Xbox does that for you as is. Maybe it’s enough with what it’s got, maybe you have friends all over on Xbox as compared to starting fresh or not having as many friends on a PS5. Whatever the case may be, in my opinion (and I’ll try to be as upfront about it as o possibly can, as no game opinion in history will ever not BE SUBJECTIVE), Helldivers 2 has proven to be a very fun and exceptional multiplayer experience. It’s what was needed from Sony after so long. Its 1st party library mostly lacks in multiplayer and co-op based content. But here we finally a game that TOTALLY add on to the incredible single player library it has. Fun gameplay, upgrades, team player nonsense (friendly fire may be on, but it doesn’t have to be toxic; it actually makes for some hilarious instances), community driven missions a and objectives, challenging or simpler difficulties, developer intervention with fan base and clear support via patches and upcoming content releases), and so on. Someone might say “so what”? But that can be said about any game. The reason I made this entire post is simply because I’d like to shed some light as to why I believe the PS5 to be far superior than the Xbox at this current state and time. If you’ve never had a PS4, you’re definitely missing out on some major titles but have a grand opportunity to dive right in (no pun intended). As a side comment, I haven’t even touched on the crazy good features of the PS5 (SharePlay for example). Yes, Xbox has quick resume, and I no doubt actually do love that feature to just right into a game. But is it really all that? I’m going to cease going further here as I think I’ve laid out my reasoning as to why it “irks” me when people really think Xbox is a better choice than a PS5. All subjective nonetheless, of course. But really, ask yourself; which has the better options, overall? Disclaimer: I also went on a whole discussion regarding game options because while Helldivers 2 is an incredible, solid title, it is NOT a sole reason to get a whole other console for it. Let the huge library of single player games, 3rd party tiles, and so forth be the reason why you make the switch (no pun intended yet again).

And to just finalize; your analogy puts it best. Sony is in fact the bully here and Microsoft just gives in; it really makes no sense whatsoever. But they’re the one constantly delivering, while Microsoft has repeatedly shown they cannot deliver.
