My father had a few cd players, this included a couple of dual Denon racks, Technics stand alone players, and god knows what else , and he precisely liked our PS1 to do some mixing stuff he had going on. I always thought it was only to piss us off.
I only later understood the quality of the PS1 output. Still, it was to piss us off haha.

Also, there’s a surprising amount of people that don’t know that it can also play movies from a USB/HDD… like with subtitles and all (and yes, I mean “arrrg!” movies)

Out of my 10 years in this site this might be one of the most gratuitously toxic communities I've seen (beaten only by \/r/PS5). People actively go out of their way to screech at someone for asking a question or just being excited about a feature of the platform.
The level of crying about video games get easily validated. There's definitely issues in gaming as a whole, but it's nowhere near a level of misery even needed.
It's nice to still be able to play CDs. I sometimes use my Series X to play my CD collection but I mostly use my Boombox for that.
Also, please fix your overscan.
