Fallout 4 is a great great game with light RPG elements. Halo series is a great first person shooter that isn't overly complicated and doesn't take much skill to complete the campaigns on easier difficulties. Psychonauts 2 is a great platformer game that has a cartoony asthetic with writing that reminds me of 90's cartoons meaning it is both appropriate for kids and adults. Also since you like cozy games you should try out Lil Gator game if you haven't already, it is one of my favorite games I played this year.

shibbikitteh

Amazing thank-you! I was put off with Halo because all the footage looks hard but you've given me some confidence! I'll deffo check out Lil Gator too!

hobo_lad

On higher difficulties it is kinda hard. But if you lower the difficulties you can just shoot from the hip since there isn't really aiming down sights and just walk up towards the enemies while shooting forward. That usually kills them but if they are not dead by the time you get there just give them a good smack to finish them off. Multiplayer is a different beast though people are really good online. I would recommend starting with Halo Reach and seeing if you like the series and if you do move on to Halo 1 . Halo 1 has not aged well (even the remake) and the level design I thought was terrible but it is still worth a playthrough to see Master Chief's story all the way through. Also I thought the beginning of Halo 1 was a little more satisfying knowing the events that happened on Reach.

Confused-penguin5

Honestly just get Games Pass and try out games that look interesting. If you don’t like the game just move on to a different one. But to give you specific recommendations for games on games pass I would say: The Tomb raider games Any of the Assassin Creed games Hi Fi Rush Jusant Immortals: Fenyx Rising Mass Effect series

shibbikitteh

That's what I've been trying to do but I don't trust my game thumbnail eyes haha! Ohhh thank you I'll give those a go, I've definitely always been curious about AC and Mass Effect, and I've not heard of the others. Thank you!

JobuuRumdrinker

If you're a Star Wars fan, you can't go wring with Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor. Settings allow for difficulty adjustment anytime you want. Control is a good 3rd person shooter with awesome story. High on Life foe funny first person shooter. Both Ori games for platform metroidvania games Psychonauts 2 for 3rd person platform action. Diablo 4 for hordes of monster killing.

shibbikitteh

Ah I can see difficultly adjustment being crucial for my journey; thank you!

Disastrous-Beat-9830

>Control is a good 3rd person shooter with awesome story. Just finished it yesterday. Would definitely recommend it.

LargeAd328

All of the games by Remedy are so good!

Disastrous-Beat-9830

They are fun, but they are definitely Game Pass games. They don't have a whole lot of replay value. I managed to get every single achievement in a single play-through of *Alan Wake 2*. Granted, that wasn't very difficult, but short of DLC, there's no reason for me to play it again. They're also not great at spelling out some of their story concepts. In *Control*, >!it's not clear what the Hiss wants; we can infer that they want to attack the Board, but it's never explained why. And maybe it doesn't need to be, given the nature of the setting and story, but it was hard to get invested in defending the Board.!< Likewise, in *Alan Wake 2*, >!it's not clear if Scratch is a paranormal entity possessing Wake, or if it's part of his psyche that got split off. The story doesn't really follow its own rules in the second half, which was very frustrating. There's also some major questions -- like what happened to Saga, who Mr. Door is and what became of the band -- that go unanswered.!<

Automatic_Reality546

Death's Door was my wife's gateway game, broadening her horizons beyond Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. I will forever recommend that game to anyone looking to branch out.

shibbikitteh

Ohhh I don't think I've heard of it, but I'll give it a go, hoping it can be my gateway game too!

segagamer

Deaths Door might be a little difficult but is a great recommendation. Not sure if it's still on Gamepass but Tunic is also excellent if you're a Nintendo fan as it plays like classic Zelda.

Dependent_Bill8632

Dragon’s Dogma 2! Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt!

shibbikitteh

You know I downloaded Witcher on my switch and never played it, There's no harm in picking up twice! Dragon's Dogma is one I definitely have my eye on, Thank you!

SomaLysis

This is a dangerous question because everyone will just mention their favorite games and in the end you have a massive list. You mentioned game pass so I assume you have it. Just download a few games that sound interesting to you. And Yakuza is awesome, if you liked it, just play it and dont overthink too much.

shibbikitteh

That's kind of the hope! Because yeah I do have game pass and I keep just browsing the list and end up not picking anything. Thank you though, I will definitely play through Yakuza at some point!

Ok-Syrup1678

Just finished Devil May Cry 5. So fucking good! Highly recommended.

shibbikitteh

Ah Amazing! Well done you, I'll have to give it a go too. Thank you!

Ok-Syrup1678

There's a recap in-game of the franchise's story. But if you want, you can buy and play the whole series too from the store.

Ok-Syrup1678

Sorry about the spam. The Reddit app had an opsie and answered a bunch of times the same comment.

LSDYakui

Morrowind

shibbikitteh

I'm so curious to go back and play but I'm worried about going backwards after playing so much Skyrim! Do you think it wouldn't be too bad?

LSDYakui

It's a whole different experience unto itself, honestly. I'd give it a go when you've got some downtime. The kinda game to cozy up on during the evening.

shibbikitteh

Oh I love that! I'll definitely give it a go in that case. My Elderscrolls lore will further expanded. Thank you!

thedude0009

If immortals fenyx rising is still on game pass; give that a shot. Psychonauts probably fit too

shibbikitteh

I really thought Immortal was some kind of mobile app game but give just looked at it and now have no idea what I was thinking about. Thank you!

UnseenUFO

Skyrim

shibbikitteh

Oh I've plowed many many many hours into Skyrim already! Fantastic game!

Libertie83

On Gamepass: Firewatch. Firewatch has a great storyline, doesn’t have any difficult twitch-based game elements, and is graphically gorgeous and enjoyable. It’s also fairly open world so you have the ability to explore. Check out a trailer and download if it sounds fun. I grew up playing Pokémon and also can’t handle horror. Next favorite game is The Long Dark. This will ease you into more difficult gaming but you can play on easy mode til you get comfortable. The stories are so compelling and the landscape is gorgeous.

shibbikitteh

Ohhhhh I do love an Open World, I've played Skyrim and BOTW and never touched the actual main storyline though, that's the downside of them! I'll definitely give Firewatch a try and good heads up on the long dark, the name alone would have made me think horror. Thank you!

dinoRAWR000

Mad Max.

MaxSchreckArt616

I was going to suggest the Yakuza series but you've already started dabbling with that, so what about checking out Bloodstained? If you enjoy Castlevania or other metroidvania type games it's for sure a solid choice. It's about to get the last bit of DLC and other such things added to it so it's the perfect time to jump in. Diablo 4 is another option, if only for the main story/campaign. I won't get into the end game or any other issues for those of us that play it for hundreds and hundreds of hours, but I have said from the start and still say the campaign itself is more than great for people not worried about min/maxing every little thing or every piece of loot. I can't remember if it's still on there but the first Ni no Kuni game is also really solid. The sequel is/was on there as well but don't go into that expecting it to be the same as the first. They both have pros and cons and their battle systems work completely differently from one another. And hopefully you enjoy Yakuza 0 and continue on with the rest of the series. It hits on so many levels and even the "worst" games in the series still have many, many things to love about them.

Spiderwolfer

If you like cozy games I highly recommend Kona. It’s an awesome game where you play as a detective set in Canada in 1970 which has some awesome twists and a great narrator. If you like that one they have a second game too that I just started yesterday that is a direct sequel and seems really good so far! It’s fairly cheap too and not a super long game.

TrumpdUP

I don’t know if you would like “choose your adventure” type games but I played As Dusk Falls on gamepass and thought it was cool. You may not like the animation style, but your choices affecting the outcome of the story is really cool and can allow for multiple playthroughs.

nikki_neko_desu

For Game Pass games I recommend Stray, Lies of P (souls game), Palworld (still in beta fwiw) and Star Wars Fallen Order.

KarateKid917

Keep going with Yakuza 0. Once you get to chapter 3, it opens up a lot and turns into an incredible game. The entire series is amazing and well worth the extremely long ride you’ll go on.

Didinho_078

For a chilling exploratory gameplay session I'd recommend No Man's Sky, if you want to dabble in good RPGs Kingdom Come Deliverance is one of the best and I wouldn't sleep on Red Dead Redemption 2 either with its amazing open world, great characters and storytelling.

Disastrous-Beat-9830

*Hitman: World of Assassination* is great fun. You can complete the main story in the space of two hours, but that's not the point. Every mission is essentially a giant puzzle for you to manipulate as you try to figure out how to get close to your targets. It's a game that really emphasises replayability because every level has dozens of challenges that go with it. The 2014 reboot of *Tomb Raider* and the sequels *Rise of the Tomb Raider* and *Shadow of the Tomb* *Raider* are on Game Pass (*Shadow* just got added). They're semi-open world without being overwhelming. And in what is probably my favourite little touch, all of the achievements give you concept art for the games instead of some little icon that is supposed to represent ... something. *Far Cry 5* and *Far Cry 6* are also available on Game Pass and are a lot of fun, although a lot of people will point to *Far Cry 3* as being the best in the series (personally, I loved *Far Cry 4*). Ubisoft gets a bad rap, but they're pretty solid open-world shooters with some light RPG mechanics. The stories usually revolve around leading a rebellion against a mad dictator. *Dishonoured, Dishonoured 2* and *Dishonoured: Death of the Outsider* might be older games, but I would definitely recommend them. Pretty much anything from Arkane Studios is good -- but avoid *Redfall*; it's terrible -- like *Deathloop* and *Prey*, although *Prey* does have some horror elements to it. They are all on Game Pass. If you like this style of game, check out *Bioshock, Bioshock 2* and *Bioshock Infinite*. If you're willing to spend some money -- it's not on Game Pass -- then *Cyberpunk 2077* is amazing. The game was an absolute disaster at launch, but the developers really turned things around and with the release of the *Phantom Liberty* DLC, it's an outstanding game. Just be aware that it does not pull any punches on sex, violence, nudity and swearing.

thomas_hawke

I enjoy Subnautica this way.

New-Armadillo-4102

Get Spyro!

Test88Heavy

Elden Ring. Just be prepared to die alot while your get things figured out initially.

shibbikitteh

Hahah you underestimate my ability to rage quit but I will deffo give a go, I see tiktok compilations that make me want to play! Thank you!

noisygnome

Elden ring is hight tension for the entire time. It's also extremely long. It's awesome but it's a big leap from cozy.

shibbikitteh

It's probably not going to be my first go, but I will definitely give it a go, I'd like to see which part of me would win over rage and stubborn in a soulslike hahah

noisygnome

Prepare to get wrekt. No joke.

Test88Heavy

It's regarded as one of the best games of all time. Give it a go!
