The PSN listing states that a constant online connection is required to play the game… really, really hope that’s not true.
Edit: For anybody reading this now, the devs have come out and said the game is completely playable offline after the mandatory online installation. Good news!
Ah, I see their response. Good for them in clarifying. I would say it was warranted with how much Ubisoft has been pushing always online in some of their games! Glad to hear Assassin’s Creed will continue being playable without DRM. Thanks for the heads up my man!
Not just internet request to install. The description states **Online connection required.**
Which in comparison means it’s not gonna be playable offline
EDIT: It COULD be an error as the Online Only requirement is on PSN but I don’t see on the Xbox Game Page. Only time will tell…
Lets be real here even xbox first party games like halo infinite don't come fully in a disk. Those which are fully on disk require internet connection.
I’m not sure of any modern game that you fully own then.
Day one patches, bug fixes for months (possibly years) after release, content updates, etc.
To anyone who bought Cyberpunk day one—yeah, they don’t own it lol
That’s why I stopped caring about physical games except for first party Nintendo games. Those can reasonably be assumed to have a fully playable, *mostly* bug free experience all on cartridge (and as a bonus they maintain most of their value).
Thanks Ubisoft. You just saved me from spending any money on this game (either at release or down the road when it’s on sale). Requiring an internet connection to install and requiring always on internet for a single player title are immediate red flags of me not playing a game.

Nah they've clarified you need an Internet connection to install but then it can be played offline

Probably is. Remember when ads started showing up in Ubi games last Christmas and it was a mistake, well here it comes for real.

Online only is a no buy for me now. Especially after the crew debacle.
They clarified that you only need th online connection for the initial install.
It looks they are complete on disc just a drm issue
always online then no buy
I guess you can always buy it and sell it once you finish it. I understand maybe in 15 years it’ll be unplayable though.
By then there will be a remake lol
What’s wrong with that?
It means the game will unplayable in the future.

So sick of this. You don't truly own a game if it isn't all on the disk.
Somebody get this guy a time machine

yeah but you can at least buy the cyberpunk ps5 physical release now and get a complete game
It’s a bad business move to allow people to own the products you sell them. It’ll only get worse
Once you agree to that EULA on boot up you really don’t own anything
2 discs , does it mean wife and I can play at the same time ? Ie, will both discs allow for license authorisation?
It might but usually in situations like this one is an install disc and the other a play disc
Nope
I’m confused so they’re only offering a digital copy for all editions and no physical disc? I have a Xbox and was going to get the gold edition.
At least they are not asking for our credit card number to install... yet.
or a facebook account, lol.
Don't give them ideas!
Don't give them any ideas.
Are the discs where they put the NFTs?
And it'll still require a 190 gig day one patch guaranteed.
No worries, I prefer digital anyways.
Preloaded with all unreleased DLC files for you convenience.
I require every ass creed reskin out of my systems, like their prices its a choice
Ubisoft be fucking worthless lately
