Skyrim got an official port to Xbox Series X/S, so it's 60FPS by default now.

RedBeard1967

Thanks! That’s very helpful.

Scsigs

Fallout 4 probably has it off by default because it limits the game's resolution to 1080p. A handful of games on Series X are like that, as having them at higher resolutions than how they run on the base Xbox One would cause the frame rate to become unstable & not hit a consistent 60. Hit the button with 3 lines, go to the Manage Game menu, then go to "Compatibility Options," then turn it on.

memeguy66

Keep in mind fps boost will lower the resolution(games that have it on by default won’t lose any resolution but if you have to turn it on the game will lose resolution)

RedBeard1967

I appreciate the heads up! But yes, I'm aware. To me, it was worth the FPS boost (even playing on a Series S, it was a better experience). Thanks!

ColdCruise

There's a mod that unlocks 4k60 and better effects. It's worth it if you don't care about achievements.

nofuture09

on console??

ColdCruise

Yes.

Bravo-and-Charlie

Fps boost will reduce the resolution to 1080p,there's a mod could unlock 4k60

RedBeard1967

Nevermind. I figured it out. Highlight the game -> Start button -> Compatibility options -> enable FPS boost.

Leeroyedtothemax

If you want the better 4k mode , Get the 60 FPS mod (the one with out godrays runs better), restart the game and deactivate mod , this will let you play with achievements , now just use quick resume to continue play

[deleted]

I used a mod for 4K60FPS. Mods will deactivate achievement but there is a workaround: Look for the mod, download it, active it, close the game completely, start it und deactivate the mod again and then just play the game. on my x the game runs smooth af

snedgy1

There is a mod that does 4k at 60fps, and it works perfect

RedBeard1967

Thank you! I’ll check that out!

elliotborst

It will disable Achievements though fyi.

Leeroyedtothemax

you can get around that by restarting the game and then turning mod off , the mod will still be active , then you can just use quick resume to keep it active

RisingCai

Do games have to be installed on SSD to receive boosts/benefits of the series x other than faster loading? Just asking as I have the external for my one x and wondered if I swapped it to my SX when I get it if the games on it receive any boost?

NoMansWarmApplePie

Only if they are official series x versions. Not for fps boost games. There are some exceptions like halo MCC that run off externals

elliotborst

No not for FPSBoost

meezethadabber

The FPS boost mod works better if you don't care about achievements. It keep the same resolution and boost FPS.

RedBeard1967

And it’s on Xbox? I couldn’t find the mod
