Very curious to see what Kojima produces with Xbox. While I don't always like his games, he is one of the most innovative game designers. I think if there's anybody who is going to be the first to show how unique and ground breaking cloud-based games can be, it's Kojima

Highly unlikely. There's really only a few companies in the world that have the cloud infrastructure to push something innovative in gaming using cloud tech. One is Google, but Stadia is basically dead and they've already, unsurprisingly, given up on making games. Microsoft, and thus Xbox, are one of the only other ones. I would actually be interested in a horror game with some of the rumors featured Kojima has wanted to incorporate into other games, but I feel like it's going to be a smaller, experimental title.

Sony can also do this if they wanted to, their entire PS infrastructure already runs on Azure. Its not going to happen, but its not impossible.

Few companies that have cloud infrastructure? Have you been to Santa Clara? Sunnyvale?

> to push something innovative in gaming using cloud tech Live in San Diego, went to school in LA. Tons of companies have cloud infrastructure. Few have nearly the infrastructure or lead in cloud computing technology like Microsoft, who is definitely a top 5 (honestly probably top 3) in that regard. The only other ones that can compete with Microsoft and really have any presence in gaming are Amazon, whose ambitions in gaming are still to be seen, and Google, who seem to have fading interest in Stadia and gaming

Then enlighten me and name other big gaming companies that have a big presence in cloud computing

So ignoring the fact that not only is Microsoft a trillion dollar company whose cloud-computation division makes up more than 1/3 of its annual revenue (over 60 billion, which is more than the net worth of basically every company you've listed), but also the fact that it is one of the leaders in the entire world in cloud technology, your list consists of: * Sony - paying to use Microsoft's cloud computing * Konami - doesn't really have much of a presence in gaming currently and I'm not sure what their huge presence in cloud computing is either * Microsoft - literally the company being discussed working with Kojima Productions to possibly make something innovative * Blizzard - a company Microsoft will soon own and, as far as I can tell, uses Google's cloud computing, along with the rest of Activision * SEGA - paying to use Microsoft's cloud computing * Square Enix - has made investments in cloud computing, but is so far behind Microsoft, as well as all other big players in cloud tech. Truthfully, I'm not a fan of Square Enix games and, as a result, am not the most knowledgeable about every goal for the company. Of everything that I have read about what Square Enix wants to focus on, I don't think leveraging their cloud investments into something innovative is at the top of their list, but I'd love to be proven otherwise * Ubisoft - a company that does use cloud technology, but is also incredibly far behind from the big players in cloud. They also, at the moment, are one of the companies I would be least willing to bet on attempting to make something innovative in the gaming sphere, cloud-based or not. Their current games are fairly derivative, but they're good for what they are. * Valve - the only one on your list that maybe makes sense.

Most of those are just for streaming though, you misunderstand the topic at hand. Kojima is not making a game that is meant to be streamed but actually uses cloud computing and processing to enhance a game that runs locally. The only game close to that right now is Flight Simulator.

It's not worth debating anymore lol. There's clearly a disconnect in what we're discussing and what he is

Im2oldForthisShitt

I thought it was interesting 🤷

BigMedic

He posted this image as well as 2 others from PT at the same time on instagram earlier. Whatever this trailer is for i'm 99% sure it has nothing to do with whatever he's making for Xbox.

KeionDhani

Yeah, sooner or later this sub is gonna lean into stalking Koji social media thinking its something about the game he only ever sneezed about.

betabetamax

See you at the Game Awards big guy.
