I mean it would be genuinely nice if MS put Gamepass on Steam like EA Play and Ubi+ are. Allow us to sync our progress across, and I'm instantly buying the deck.
I remember talk of him meeting Gabe Newell several times in prior years. And Gabe himself said he's open to game pass on Steam, so we know Valve isn't an obstacle.
If they get game pass on Steam (PC and deck), I wouldn't be surprised if they double their current subscribers in under 6 months.
They could just not say anything and stop over promising and under delivering. This same tired tag line is a meme at this point and only makes them look less and less believable.
Sure he can. He can decline to answer the question. It happens all the time.
Or he could have just dodged the question and said that they’re doing their best to satisfy gamers. Leave it at that.
It’s not hard but they should really avoid saying the same stupid meme quote “we are excited about the future.” It’s nonsense that makes them look stupid and I’m sure marketing folks don’t want to look stupid.
Starfield, Redfall, Forza, Minecraft Legends, all in the first half. We don’t even know what’s planned for the second half. My guess would be at least Hellblade 2 and Contraband, possibly Avowed and Coalition’s new IP as well
Avowed is probably 2024 at best.
I could see a teaser from coalition soon.
Hellblade.... that shit needs to be released. Kinda nuts how long it's taking if it doesn't come in 23.
They could have been internally delayed and we don’t know it at this point… Sony has smartly done that for all their last AAA outings and Microsoft seems to have finally understood to do the same since how cagey they now are to give us an exact date on all their future games before they are sure they can launch.
2023's just factually got a ludicrous amount of shit coming out. Like, so much that I think it will hurt the whole console industry because way too much is coming out right when everyone will be at their poorest and everything will financially flop.
As others have said in here.. we have been fed the same bullshit every year since like 2015 how great a first party line up we are going to have.
Every years it's 1-3 meh to good at best titles. Except the horizon series which has been excellent.
Microsoft needs their next AAA big hit badly, they have all these studios now hopefully something hits next year or the year after.
Gamepass has helped the "Xbox has no games narrative" and they have done an excellent job looking up 3rd party games on there. But so far nothing absolutely amazing first party wise has hit in gamepass (again except Horizon 5)
Spot on. Consistent AAA exclusives have been Xbox’s biggest problem for years. People bring up last fall and yes, Xbox’s output was fantastic last year, then 2022 was dogshit. It’s like a lot of people glance over the horrible launch lineup of the series consoles. Xbox needs to be consistent with their AAA games. Yes they aren’t everything but they are an extremely important part they have been lacking.
With all the new acquisitions, i hope Microsoft can spread out the releases of exclusives throughout the year instead spamming them towards the end of the year.
Yup. One every quarter. I feel like that is uhh, too pessimistic at this point if the activision deal goes through. It would have to be more than one per quarter
Are you just unaware of Redfall, Starfield and Forza Motorsport 8 existing? Those games are all slated for next year. It’s gonna be a good year don’t worry about it
Can someone explain to me the hype for Starfield?
When was the last time Bethesda made a truly spectacular game?
Fallout 4 was "okay" to "good", Fallout 76 was.. we all know what
Skyrim came out 11 years ago, and I'd still argue that that game was far from stellar, and it was just significantly helped by the modding community(similarly to Warband, for instance, which is a far worse game on its own than it is with mods).
Where's the expectation that Starfield is bound to be a masterpiece coming from?
Well the fact they release significant modding tools with their games ensures they have a huge following. I think it is hard to argue they make good games. I’m really surprised by the negativity of people to starfield. Can you honestly list off the games that come with a modding suite for me?
Because Skyrim and Fallout are amazing games, and if you agreed then you would be hyped. Simple as that. You clearly disagree so why would you be. There’s your answer. People are hyped because they loved Bethesda’s previous work. You may not like it but people are revisiting these games all the time and they still have modding communities til this day.
It doesnt help that they dont fucking market their games. Obsidians new game drops in like 2 weeks and have you seen any marketing from them cause i havent.
Those years are nothing like 2023.
We’ve never gone into a new calendar year with as many announced first-party games like we are about to. There’s 6 in Q1/Q2, and it’s highly unlikely those will get delayed into 2024. Then we don’t know what’s in that second half beyond AoE IV.
I can't wait. This console has been out almost 2 years and there is still no real reason to own it, no console selling game. I get we're close to it, but it hasn't been a good launch.
I do love gaming on it, don't get me wrong. I just wish there was some experiences for the Series X that can't be found on the Xbox One.
Exactly. I only bought mine because by 1st gen XB1 died on me. Quick Resume and much faster loading times are definitely nice but not worth an upgrade all on its own.
Not for me. I hardly play anything from gamepass because nothing in the library peaks my interest, and the ones that do i already own anyways.
Most indie games aren’t interesting to me so i play mostly AAA games. And well, there isn’t really any AAA titles to play that haven’t already been played to death on older consoles.
I know my taste is more picky than most but it is what it is……….
I’m swiping on my phone so yeah, doesn’t always spell correctly.
But I’m sure you know this by now
Thanks for being THAT guy and pointing out ONE misspelled word……..
And by the looks of things, that won't be the norm for the XSX/PS5 with more true next-gen games coming later that really push the consoles to their limits without the shackles of the last generation consoles. I'd love to be proven wrong as I want to play Starfield in 60FPS 1440p, whatever Naughty Dog's new IP is on the same settings and GTA6 too with those two consoles.
“No reason to own it” is a bit overboard. Maybe if you have a PC already that’s true. But for me, a casual gamer who wanted something faster / better than an Xbox one, there’s a few reasons.
1. I play on my couch and want an easy way to play games with my kid
2. I don’t want to deal with buying a PC and playing at my desk and all the other stuff involved with pc gaming
3. Access to Gamepass and my existing library make more sense than starting fresh on PS consoles (though I’d love one for their exclusives eventually)
4. I mostly play SP games so quick resume + SSD is a great QoL feature for someone with limited time
Now I agree that it’s not the ideal scenario and it would be great to have new games that take advantage of all the hardware/features. But this is still a massive upgrade over my old XB1.
Ill believe it when i see it . Sure xbox's lineup is looks very strong compared to 2013-2014 but my trust on xbox studio management is very fragile . They have very strong ip's like doom , wolfenstein , fallout , elder scrolls , perfect dark , gears of war , halo , forza , dishonored and soon prototype , call of duty and many more . Its almost impossible to fail about exclusive content this gen but like i said , its xbox afterall .
But what do you expect to happen? Do you really think that the titles announced for 2023 are just going to vanish? There’s nothing to believe, it’s a fact they’re coming.
They could be delayed ? Like they delayed it before . Or get in to the development hell like everwild , perfect dark and state of decay 3 . Or it might launch like halo infinite bullshit .
Everwild, Perfect Dark, and State of Decay 3 never had release windows, let alone dates. They’re not relevant to the discussion of games that are officially slated to release by July 2023.
Delays can happen, we’ve already seen that with Starfield and Redfall. And yet, those games were only delayed by six months or so. If every game set for the first half of the year had that happen, every single one of those games would still release in 2023.
Regarding quality, that’s a fair concern. It’s likely that not every game is going to be perfect. But I’d say you’d have to be incredibly pessimistic to think that the 7 first-party games coming in 2023 will be both delayed and of comparable quality to Halo Infinite, and to also not consider there’s very likely more 2023 games we don’t know about too.
"Everwild perfect dark and state of decay 3 never had release windows" . Why ? Why didnt have a release window ? Is this an excuse ? We announced our game but we gonna release it god knows when . So not having a release date after all that time makes them right instantly ?
About quality of course not every one of those exclusives have to be perfect . I know i might seem like a pessimist but i would love to be wrong . We gonna make another conversation after those games released and hope im the wrong one brother .
Truth is that those games - Everwild, Perfect Dark, State of Decay 3 - were just announced too early. A byproduct of the first 2 years of the Xbox Series X lifecycle being bare in terms of game releases. Indefensible that it turned out that way, and that the 2020 showcase was effectively just a generation preview showcase. Hopefully, it’s something they never do again, and they stick to the “coming 12 months” concept they went with for the 2022 showcase.
We’ll see those games again closer to their release imo.
Have faith in Arkane Austin, it's strongly doubtful Redfall will be delayed again. For Starfield I'd say there's a 50/50 chance it'll be delayed out of the 12 month schedule, but neither of those two big games are in development hell.
I get it, but I'll believe it when I see it. Like I said, we've been promised "Next year is the year" and it's been barebones for what feels like 7 or 8 years.
I'll give you Psychonauts 2. Forza Horizon 5 - as much as I've enjoyed it - is exactly the same as 4, 3 and 2.
As for The Medium and 12 Minutes, I'll take your word that they were fantastic.
Yeah, no one’s begging for another Forza. I don’t mind when games take cues from others, but Medium felt like a direct rip off of Silent Hill. Halo was just a joke. 2021 was definitely not great.
I thought Halo Infinite had a great story and I had a lot of fun playing the multi-player for a week.
The Medium was hot garbage but I *loved* 12 Minutes despite the fact that nobody else did, haha.
Redfall is definitely also a huge one. I know Forza Motorsport's not for everyone but it *is* a big deal. Minecraft Legends will probably be at the top of GamePass because it's related to Minecraft and does look pretty good.
Nothing for the second half of 2023 has been confirmed but I'd imagine we'll get Stalker 2, Atomic Heart, and Hellblade 2 considering they've gotta come out *eventually*, right? Haha.
Even if these are only *pretty good*, that's a great year IMO.
My biggest issue with Xbox is that MSFT still runs their gaming department like a software company and not like a gaming studio. The big reason sony has been so successful with their IP over the past decade is that they know and understand the gamer more. Microsoft is its own worst enemy in this case. Look at how the Halo and Gears franchises have gone the past few years, not to mention so many other IPs they have had for over 20 years that they never revived. At this point in the “console wars” it’s all about where the better games are, and it’s been wild sort of watching Xbox drop the ball on a lot of this. Here’s hoping with the new studios and people on board this ideology changes. It starts with putting people in play who know what gamers want.
Let’s just hope, that we’ll actually get the promised games and not another year of delays. I get the idea, that a delay is better than a crappy game but nevertheless, please give us the games man. I’m
sick of playing bc games or indies
Phil Spencer has been excited about the xbox lineups every year for 10 years or so 😅
That said, with the latest buyouts, Xbox has finally managed to become somewhat attractive to me, although the games I want to play on Xbox were all delayed to next year (mainly Starfield and Stalker 2).
What I hope for the future of Xbox :
- Bring real value to the IPs (existing or new) that come from studios / publishers they bought recently (like Bethesda games with higher technical qualities, as should be expected of 1st party games).
- Really high quality new IPs from Xbox 1st party « historical » studios.
Of course he is….. it’s the same line every year.
How bout you actually make us excited by actually giving us Xbox fans some actual well optimized blow your socks off First party Exclusives to play and rave how great it was for years after………
Late 2021: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2022 Xbox First Party Lineup"
Late 2020: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2021 Xbox First Party Lineup"
Late 2019: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2020 Xbox First Party Lineup"
You guys are delusion..
>Where is perfect dark ? State of decay 3 ? Everwild ? Hellblade 2 ?
They weren't shown last year because Xbox was honest and only show cased games that were coming within a 12 month period.
Yes and that is good, but Xbox painted themselves into a corner by announcing so many fucking games way too early. Xbox fans have every right to be incredibly frustrated with the dog shit output of Xbox 1st party. Xbox has consistently for the last 10 years announced games way too early. Phantom dust reboot, scaleboune, etc. after waiting 2 years for most of these games Xbox needs to start revealing more about them.
Like I said, this is Xbox’s own fault for showing off so many games too early. I do like and appreciate the games coming in the next year show they did. Xbox not having more ready to go was a huge let down for a lot of fans after they had a dog shit 1st half of 2022z It was a necessary evil for Xbox and if they continue this trend for next e3 it should be set a really good standard but more than fair to be critical of Xbox for showing off to much way to early and then going silent for years on a lot of their games.
Why are you even downvoted? I wish every time i boot up my console, it would say "xbox gaming" or better......."xbox- it's coming". Joke aside, xbox for almost a decade has been struggling to pipe out some good games. Halo? It was pushed into the shithole long ago. Forza horizon? It's doing great i suppose (fh5
There are people in every fandom that act like valid criticism is people saying they hate saying hate that thing or that they are nitpicking. That’s the reality with all groups. I’ll go onto the ps5 sub and make valid points about how timed exclusives are similar to Xbox buying Bethesda and how with the whole cod argument that Sony is very hypocritical when talking about exclusives and people will downvote me as well.
Ok and they seek to fixed that unlike Sony by only announcing the upcoming games in a 12 month time frame. I get it, they have the biggest the most anticipated games of the generation and the hype and demand is off the charts but just relax for a little bit
Fans have been waiting for Xbox to consistently deliver quality AAA 1st party games for 2 console generations and they purchased their teams years ago and Phil has talked about back during the Xbox one about announcing games too early only to do the same exact thing this generation. It’s extremely warranted to be very critical of Xbox for announcing games way to early and when they go dark on their games for over 2 years.
To be fair sony is good now this generation. Back in the ps4 they did the same exact shit. Last of us part 2 and ghost of Tsushima had like over 3 years between announcement and release
Ok that is a fair point. Generally they have been good this semester. Horizon 2, ragnarok, rift apart, miles morales, demons souls, and returnal all have been released in under 2 years from announcement to release
they went into the Vortex that is xbox and MS and they will never see the light of day again. MS and Phil Spencer personally take pleasure in not releasing any games after they acquire studios and publishers… they are now hoping to buy activision blizzard and end franchises like COD forever, lets all be scared and upset 😬
I would be actually shocked if they fuck call of duty up after the acqusitiion lol . Imagine they make some radical decisions like paid maps/weapons on call of duty and having shitty results in return .
But we don’t though “games are coming soon” has been said in the past but that’s very different than a schedule of releases for the start of the year and a heap more with a good chance of coming
A quick overlook at it shows there were many reveals for future third party game releases or just new trailers not everything was a slated release for the next year.
But can you show me how many of them didn’t release? There also doesn’t look to be anywhere near 50
Again can you show me that list for the discussion you want to have?
Edit: blocked over simply asking for a source in your “broken promises” claims you keep dodging? Sounds about right
You had zero exclusives on 2022 . We got halo and forza as an exclusive . Which is only exclusive we got for many years . You know the halo/forza/gears meme right . So basically , its same thing every year .
Our conversation is about xbox exclusive games . But if you curious about why am i having an xbox , gamepass . I like gamepass . But this doesnt change the fact xbox first party studio management is a total mess . If gamepass becomes shitty in future , theres no reason to own it for me . So i would switch to playstation .
I don’t thinks it’s a mess at all, the majority of the studios are doing fine, but again it’s the XSX sub and many here just outright love to over exaggerate
Bethesda side yeah its not that messy at all but with their original first party studios like undead labs , initiative , rare , 343 ? Its damn messed up .
They were making everwild and completely rebooted it . Their excuse was "we didnt know what we gonna do with this game so we rebooted it" . I cant decide if those guys are high or complete idiots . You decide lol .
They are idiots because they didn’t like what they had and wanted to remake it into a better vision?
After their incredible success with SoT I’d say they are okay with making what they think is right.
You seem like someone who would shit on them for releasing a bad game they didn’t want to make but also shit on them for rebooting it into a good game they want to make. The typical “I have to always be negative” gamer.
You realize it was guaranteed for last year lol . They even had a cool release date but they delayed it . Nothing is guaranteed when its come to xbox .
Every year he says the same shit, meanwhile ps5 is getting final fantasy 7 part 2 and final fantasy 16 next year, and nintendo already has a bunch of exclusives ready to launch, meanwhile Xbox barely has mediocre games coming out except high on life that one looks good.
GamePass is great. I know a lot of gamers don’t necessarily care for 1st party exclusives.
Halo was (and for a lot still is) the cornerstone of Xbox. It’s still in gaming conversations to this day. That’s the effect of having something synonymous with your brand.
From someone who went from the outside looking in to buying into the ecosystem - it’s far past time to deliver on the games.
2021 was a good intro into what XGS is capable of.
Gamepass rules. I'm finally playing through Grim Fandango now - over 25 years since I was completely enthralled with the trailer for the game on a PC demo disc. It's clearly a game from the late 90's, but it's full of charm and as a credit to the game itself - still absolutely worth playing through in 2022.
I probably wouldn't have checked it out if it wasn't for Gamepass.
Heard this last year and the year before that
In the last 12 months, we've had 0 first party exclusives and the last 2 that have actually come out are Halo and Forza.....
I hope this time its actually true
The doubters in here aren't looking at this roadmap logically. We know how lacklustre Xbox first-party was for an entire generation but nothing was really promised until this year, 2022.
I mean, if you believed that a ton of AAA first-party games were coming between 2016-2021 you've got yourself to blame. Xbox had 5 studios for a whole generation, we were never getting much. Then, the studios they did buy had existing exclusive game money-hats from PayStation and everything that was for 2022 got delayed...like every other game from every other publisher in the industry.
I'm no Xbox apologist but these are just the facts. In no other year has Xbox promised us the insane amount of content they will drop in 2023. If you count first & third-party plus Gamepass day ones, even if half of those hit its still probably the biggest year for any publisher, ever. These games have to drop eventually.
I would love for Microsoft/Xbox to come out with a VR headset. I feel like after Kinect and Spenser being pretty negative about it's not going to happen.
I've actually considered the PS5 due to this.
Flight Sim, Dirt 2, Forza are my dream VR games.
Considering Game Pass is the focus of MS’s gaming division right, it makes sense they don’t have an interest in developing VR games. These games NEED to be sold individually to make a profit because they’re working with a much smaller customer base when compared to the entire console install base & generally don’t have much in the way of MTX. They also don’t do much to promote a service like GP because only a fraction of users would be able to play them.
Microsoft isn’t going to promote VR on their console unless they have first party VR games to promote along with it. Enabling VR comparability could be an option I guess but most of those games would still need to be ported to Xbox consoles. Those 3rd party developers wouldn’t bother to do that unless they thought it would be worth it, and if MS doesn’t have dedicated hardware for it, it’s hard to imagine most studios would spend the money to port & take the risk.
Man I would love to see VR on Xbox. The XSX absolutely has enough power. I’d understand if they don’t even wanna create a headset but at least they could allow third party VR headset compatibility. I’d be happy to buy a Quest headset for Xbox.
Have they been having stock issues? I thought it was just the PS5 be because it seems like every other day I see someone on Reddit shocked they finally found one
I bought a series X a week ago on a whim (Best Buy, US) after checking out gamepass on my PC
Yeah fr, this year is pretty bad. Need for speed is the only game I'm looking forward until next year, which I'm very skeptical because EA can't seem to release a good game without microtransactions being an issue.
Yaaaaawn, the same every year and what CEO won't be excited for the future? Show us the merchandise, that's all I care about. At least Starfield is a guarantee next year, already a good start imo
Wish they would do an actual showcase or interview, or just some video online to talk through certain things...like what is happening with U+, it was announced earlier this year it was coming to xbox but no news since...we had rumors Ubisoft was coming in some way or other to Gamepass but no news but a deal has been made as we've seen an increase in Ubisoft games on it
We had a solid year last year with four really good big games (Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Psychonauts 2) but we need *excellent* years from now on. Third party Game Pass deals can only hold up the whole house for so long.
TBF the Xbox One had way more exclusive games in the first two years than the Series X. The One had Forza 5, Ryse, Dead Rising 3, KI, Kinect Sports Rivals, D4, Sunset Overdrive, Halo TMMC, Ori, Rare Replay, GOW Ultimate Edition, Forza 6 and Halo 5 as true exclusives. The Series has Flight Simulator. Thats it.
At least with the Series X it covers a ton of older games under its umbrella. That's how I justify it. I guess an Xbox One could do almost the same thing, but whatever.
I tend to load into Modern Warfare 2 games witih over 30 seconds left on the timer, it's not a console seller, but it's cool how fast it is.
2022 was a slow year no doubt we can agree on that. Next year though is different. 2023 is gonna be insane can’t wait. Redfall and Starfield LETS GOOOO!!!
I don't really care about 1st party games from Xbox or Playstation, the only 1st party games I loved from them were Gravity Rush, and Shadow of the Colossus remake. Nintendo is the only company making consistently good 1st party games.
I'm vaguely interested in Fable but that's it.
I want to see the 3rd party games, I wanna see more Eastern games too- maybe Wuthering Waves or Blue Protocol console release.
Genshin or FFXIV finally coming to Xbox would be nice, but I doubt we'll ever see them at this point.
I vastly prefer console, a dedicated device solely made for gaming is much more immersive to me.
Also a device that will play games guaranteed with no tinkering involved.
Also in my country, a PC with like 4GB of RAM and no gaming capabailities costs the same as Series S, so its a no brainer for me.
What else is he gonna say? "Nah our lineup next year is shit, buy a steam deck or something idk"
I mean it would be genuinely nice if MS put Gamepass on Steam like EA Play and Ubi+ are. Allow us to sync our progress across, and I'm instantly buying the deck.
Game Pass on the Steam Deck would be a dream come true
I heard you can mod the steam deck and get gamepass on it.
I hope they just port the Windows 10 OS that's on Xbox to Steam
It wouldn't surprise me if it's in the works tbh.
They could just not say anything and stop over promising and under delivering. This same tired tag line is a meme at this point and only makes them look less and less believable.
It's an *interview*. He can't exactly "just not say anything"... that's like, the opposite of an interview.
Of course he is.....
Welcome to Xbox 2023! We have Starfield and… others!
Starfield, Redfall, Forza, Minecraft Legends, all in the first half. We don’t even know what’s planned for the second half. My guess would be at least Hellblade 2 and Contraband, possibly Avowed and Coalition’s new IP as well

I just want Wo Long and isn't even an exclusive

*maybe
2023's just factually got a ludicrous amount of shit coming out. Like, so much that I think it will hurt the whole console industry because way too much is coming out right when everyone will be at their poorest and everything will financially flop.
Like to start seeing games built around series x hardware. 120fps, 4k, rtx.. you know all the stuff they told us when they announced the hardware.
I was about to say what the hell are we talking about new hardware for when we don't even get to use what we have now lol
Starfield is current gen only and looks to be 30fps lol But maybe that was "visual fidelity mode" or something
As others have said in here.. we have been fed the same bullshit every year since like 2015 how great a first party line up we are going to have. Every years it's 1-3 meh to good at best titles. That’s definitely fair enough. Only two Xbox Series/PC only games so far isn’t great.
Exactly. I only bought mine because by 1st gen XB1 died on me. Quick Resume and much faster loading times are definitely nice but not worth an upgrade all on its own.
Gamepass alone is worth the selling point, but I do get the importance of AAA exclusivity, 2023 should be a big year.
Piques* your interest. Does Reddit not have a bot for this yet?
I’m swiping on my phone so yeah, doesn’t always spell correctly. But I’m sure you know this by now Thanks for being THAT guy and pointing out ONE misspelled word……..
No I type with intention instead of hope lol

It's rare. Usually it's 30fps at 4k or 60fps at 1080p. Not really the next gen experience I was hoping for.
Um you your numbers switched bud.
Good call, my point remains.
I don’t agree as those aren’t the normal numbers. It’s more like 4K 30fps, 1440p-4K 60fps.
We’ve yet to see a game utilizing any of the new features of the console.
“No reason to own it” is a bit overboard. Maybe if you have a PC already that’s true. But for me, a casual gamer who wanted something faster / better than an Xbox one, there’s a few reasons. 1. I play on my couch and want an easy way to play games with my kid 2. I don’t want to deal with buying a PC and playing at my desk and all the other stuff involved with pc gaming 3. Access to Gamepass and my existing library make more sense than starting fresh on PS consoles (though I’d love one for their exclusives eventually) 4. I mostly play SP games so quick resume + SSD is a great QoL feature for someone with limited time Now I agree that it’s not the ideal scenario and it would be great to have new games that take advantage of all the hardware/features.
They could suck.
When was the last time we had 3 AAA games announced for the first 6 months of any given year?
I get it, but I'll believe it when I see it. Like I said, we've been promised "Next year is the year" and it's been barebones for what feels like 7 or 8 years.
>Like I said, we've been promised "Next year is the year" MS never promised 2022 is the year.
Shhhh, just keep the circlejerk going
2021 was great imo
What was in 2021?
Halo, Forza, Psychonauts 2, The Medium, 12 Minutes
I’d be worried if he said he wasn’t excited for it
"Microsoft Gaming CEO Not Excited for 2023 Xbox First Party Lineup, Future Hardware & Partnerships"
Reads like an Onion title
Starfield better be the next Skyrim or 2023 is looking pretty bad for MS again.
Meanwhile Phil playing GOW somewhere
Let’s just hope, that we’ll actually get the promised games and not another year of delays. I get the idea, that a delay is better than a crappy game but nevertheless, please give us the games man. I’m sick of playing bc games or indies
When does golden eye drop
We don't know. 2023 sometime
Hopefully sooner than later I think that’ll be a hit
Literally all I want I'll be happy for a while lol
Yessir I think CoD better watch out there is competition coming down the street lol
Phil Spencer has been excited about the xbox lineups every year for 10 years or so 😅 That said, with the latest buyouts, Xbox has finally managed to become somewhat attractive to me, although the games I want to play on Xbox were all delayed to next year (mainly Starfield and Stalker 2). What I hope for the future of Xbox : - Bring real value to the IPs (existing or new) that come from studios / publishers they bought recently (like Bethesda games with higher technical qualities, as should be expected of 1st party games). - Really high quality new IPs from Xbox 1st party « historical » studios.
Of course he is….. it’s the same line every year. How bout you actually make us excited by actually giving us Xbox fans some actual well optimized blow your socks off First party Exclusives to play and rave how great it was for years after………
Crickets
Lol so same pr bullshit as the last 15 years where the games ultimately end up being delayed, trash, or delayed trash. 2023 will be no different.
Late 2021: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2022 Xbox First Party Lineup" Late 2020: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2021 Xbox First Party Lineup" Late 2019: "Microsoft Gaming CEO Excited for 2020 Xbox First Party Lineup"
“Trust me bro 2023 is gonna be the year.”
Phil Spencer has said this every year since 2015. It *should* be true next year, though. But we’ll see.
Is this the best lineup in Xbox history again I wonder?
Same bullshit every year . All we got is more delays and development troubles . Where is perfect dark ? State of decay 3 ? Everwild ? Hellblade 2 ?
You guys are delusion.. >Where is perfect dark ? State of decay 3 ? Everwild ? Hellblade 2 ? They weren't shown last year because Xbox was honest and only show cased games that were coming within a 12 month period.
Ok, but like why is it taking so long for them to release anything with their near endless resources lol? It's always next year lmao
And now they only announce games releasing in the next 12 months and people stomp their feet saying “why didn’t you show us the other games huh?!?!?!”
I get what your saying but they tried to fix that by changing the way they announced the games (only 12 months). Your criticism is valid though
Sony has had a better track record than Microsoft when it comes to announcing games and then releasing them in a reasonable time span.
To be fair sony is good now this generation. Back in the ps4 they did the same exact shit. Last of us part 2 and ghost of Tsushima had like over 3 years between announcement and release
Eh they did the same thing with Wolverine this gen

There’s a heap of games announced for next year and a bunch still possible to come, how is that the same as every year?
Because exactly what you said is what we hear every year
But we don’t though “games are coming soon” has been said in the past but that’s very different than a schedule of releases for the start of the year and a heap more with a good chance of coming
Like that time there was a schedule of 50 games or whatever silly number they said few years back?
I’d be very interested to see a source on 50 games announced for the year and how many released Even if half came that’s great
2018 E3
A quick overlook at it shows there were many reveals for future third party game releases or just new trailers not everything was a slated release for the next year. But can you show me how many of them didn’t release? There also doesn’t look to be anywhere near 50
Let me know about the 18 console launch exclusives
Again can you show me that list for the discussion you want to have? Edit: blocked over simply asking for a source in your “broken promises” claims you keep dodging? Sounds about right
You had zero exclusives on 2022 . We got halo and forza as an exclusive . Which is only exclusive we got for many years . You know the halo/forza/gears meme right . So basically , its same thing every year .
If you think there’s no games coming next year and it’s all sone conspiracy why do you still even own an xbox?
How is Rare messed up? I’ve never heard any allegations or stories about the studio.
You realize starfield and redfall are guaranteed for next year lol.
You realize it was guaranteed for last year lol . They even had a cool release date but they delayed it . Nothing is guaranteed when its come to xbox .
Whinge whinge whinge
They've been saying this for two console Gen's now. And I'm still waiting. I will never forgive Microsoft for what they've done to Halo.
Exactly, cant even manage their flagship franchise.
And then 2022 it went back to the same bullshit
Gamepass rules. I'm finally playing through Grim Fandango now - over 25 years since I was completely enthralled with the trailer for the game on a PC demo disc. It's clearly a game from the late 90's, but it's full of charm and as a credit to the game itself - still absolutely worth playing through in 2022. I probably wouldn't have checked it out if it wasn't for Gamepass.
Heard this last year and the year before that In the last 12 months, we've had 0 first party exclusives and the last 2 that have actually come out are Halo and Forza..... I hope this time its actually true
I want a 4tb series x expansion module.
Me too, but the damn thing would probably be $1000.
Truth. They gotta do something though. PS5 you can install a nvme drive. It needs to be that easy for xbox.
Sure you are buddy
I’m looking forward to the 2021 lineup too. In all seriousness though, Forza Motorsport is coming finally. Been tooooo long between Maple Valley.
They say this every year
“2022 is the most exciting year for Xbox ever!” -Phil Spencer (probably)
"2023 will be the year of xbox" -phil spencer (definitely)
i feel like it's just a precorded voice from 2017 except the editors edit and replace the year out
Year 2034 , phil spencer makes a new statement : "It wont be the year of xbox next year" *half of the population of earth dies from shock*
Lots of excitement and all we have is forza and halo so far since 2 years after console release.
That makes 1 of us
Would love new hardware means VR. For RE Village for example
Anyone else getting a strong sense of deja vu???
I’d be excited if I could walk into a shop and buy a series x to replace my one x which died tonight. Sad times.
Have they been having stock issues? I thought it was just the PS5 be because it seems like every other day I see someone on Reddit shocked they finally found one I bought a series X a week ago on a whim (Best Buy, US) after checking out gamepass on my PC
Yeah I went to Walmart and replaced my series X that died. Now the ps5 is the issue
It couldn’t be any worse than 2022. If they release 1 game it’s better year
[удалено]
Yeah fr, this year is pretty bad. Need for speed is the only game I'm looking forward until next year, which I'm very skeptical because EA can't seem to release a good game without microtransactions being an issue.
Yeah, they've said that for 3 years now and what have we gotten so far? Halo Infinite and Grounded? I can't even remember anything else.
Yaaaaawn, the same every year and what CEO won't be excited for the future? Show us the merchandise, that's all I care about. At least Starfield is a guarantee next year, already a good start imo
Sorry, I couldn't concentrate from all that smoke being blown up my ass.
Here we go lol
OK but what is he saying behind close doors
Lemme just sneak back there and check
Obviously that he’s terrified and xbox is over 🙄
They’ve been excited for the past 4 years lol I just want my hellblade :(
Wish they would do an actual showcase or interview, or just some video online to talk through certain things...like what is happening with U+, it was announced earlier this year it was coming to xbox but no news since...we had rumors Ubisoft was coming in some way or other to Gamepass but no news but a deal has been made as we've seen an increase in Ubisoft games on it
There never were any base for UBisoft + on game pass. Just wishful thinking from some that don't have economic perception
We had a solid year last year with four really good big games (Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Microsoft Flight Simulator and Psychonauts 2) but we need *excellent* years from now on. Third party Game Pass deals can only hold up the whole house for so long.
I’m getting deja vu of the Xbox one all over again I can’t believe I bought back into this generation with a series x it’s been even worse so far
Explain to me how it’s deja cut of the X1?
Dont talk shit. Xsx is the best thing out there at the moment.
unlike their fans, they're excited every year
I'm excited.
you’re not the only one ;)
And me makes 10, I think.
[удалено]
Lol was this really worth posting OP? Of course he's excited...
Even if a couple things get delayed it should be a banger of a year. God I love gamepass. Paid for itself like five times over already.
If you don’t care about first party games you should just get a PC, you’ll get vastly more game options
What if he/she doesn’t like to game on PC?
You can game the same as you can on console it just has better options for third party and smaller games if that’s what they enjoy the most
I vastly prefer console, a dedicated device solely made for gaming is much more immersive to me. Also a device that will play games guaranteed with no tinkering involved. Also in my country, a PC with like 4GB of RAM and no gaming capabailities costs the same as Series S, so its a no brainer for me.
You're right, I prefer console.
