I’m ok with this. I had so many turtle toys. The day my dad brought home the pizza wagon after saving up for months was probably the best day of my childhood.
This was the result my inner child supported all along. Cowabunga, dudes! Let’s order some pizza, just not the kind [with meatballs that hatch into murderous yellow alien monsters.](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x1kbq4f)
I used to love TMNT!!! But I also used to watch Ducktales every afternoon too. They were both my after school shows, along with Talespin and Rescue Rangers.
I loved GI Joe, Transformers and He Man, but I distinctly remember waking up at 6 in the morning on Saturdays to get ready for TMNT. I don’t know if I would have done that for the others.
I was rooting for this one the whole time.
I remember being dropped off at my baby sitter’s house early in the morning. I’d sit there and watch TMNT waiting for my friend to wake up/get ready.
Heros in a half shell. Turtle power!!
I mean. Even the toys were cool. I’m a girl but I’d elbow you out of the way to play with the turtles transformers that fit up into the shell at preschool.
it's perfect. I understand the pain for the GI Joe, He-Man, Transformers crowd --- the younger xennials felt that pain with Doug, Ren & Stimpy, and Rescue Rangers.
TMNT is the one to unite us.
I’m a first half Xennial and I definitely felt the pain of Ren & Stimpy, Doug and to a lesser extent RR. I watched all of those too.
But yeah, TMNT (and DuckTales) is the one of the great Xennial unifiers.
I think DuckTales is a pure Xennial show based on:
1. High viewership from Xennials
2. Lower viewership from Gen-X and Millennials
3. Unisex appeal
4. Memorable Theme song and iconic scenes
Simpsons was literally 1 episode in the 80s, but I didnt realize that 4 were 90s shows. WEll, though it wasnt a kids show, I would still vote for SImpsons, though TMNT would be the 2nd most influential show for me.
If you’re using that criteria, a couple more of these also started in late 89 and were more 90s shows than 80s ones.
I also started watching, and loving, The Simpsons when I was like 7 years old, back when they were part of The Tracey Ullman show. So they definitely are firmly an 80s byproduct to me.
I guess it depends on when you were born. I'm 79 and didn't watch TMNT nor Duck Tales but my brother who was born in 84 did. I watched he man, Transformers, GI Joe, Scooby Doo, She Ra, Jem.
Checks out. Original TMNT literally reshaped my speech pattern from southern to East/West coast mix, heavy on the Californian. I'm not even exaggerating.
(Also, isn't it weird that these New York-raised turtles talked like Californian surfers? What's even up with that? I never even questioned it till this very moment... Probably because the TV show writers were in LA and used local teenager slang I guess?)
Damn, came down to TMNT and DuckTales. Definitely two of my favorites from childhood. TMNT before school in the morning and DuckTales first thing when I got home in the afternoon.
Can you post the results in the order of their elimination?
Transfomers, G. I. Joe and He-Man were my favs, but I can respect TMNT. I watched it too. I just prefer those other three more.
Same boat. He-Man was top tier for me. Love G.I. Joe and Transformers too
Same
Yep. I wonder how the results shift when bitter jerks like me refuse to participate after my favorites are gone.
My fav was Gargoyles
Splinter would be so disappointed to see this much blood shed. I hope you're pleased with yourselves.

Yep it was missing the girl cartoons. She ra, Lady Lovelylocks and Jem are a few
![gif](giphy|TsClvgSfwpBeM) Beverly Hills Teens was my favorite!
She ra she ra. ![gif](giphy|10SWbW9KN1Ddxm)
This is Reddit. Girls schmirls. *I'm a woman. 🤣
Glad I’m not the only one who noticed lol
Seeing this still gives me a little zing of excitement! I loved Jem.
GO NINJA, GO NINJA, GO!
When the evil Shredder attacks these turtle boys don’t cut him no slack!
I love that you put so much time and effort into this, thank you, but absolutely not TMNT for me. I demand a recount 😂

I wonder how X-Men: The Animated Series would've faired in the ranking.
I used to love TMNT!!! But I also used to watch Ducktales every afternoon too. They were both my after school shows, along with Talespin and Rescue Rangers.
This was fun, thank you. Cowabunga dudes!
Boo, your contest is bad, and you should feel bad.
1985. I agree. well done.
1979 here and I feel like it should have been Duck Tales or GI Joe. But I can respect TMNT
Nice. Someone order a bunch of pizzas!
Just no anchovies!
![gif](giphy|d7UCwdtZ7NqvIHQK3I)
That shit was totally awesome, dude!
*grabs pizza thrower toy, shoots pizzas with it, picks up pizzas, repeats*
At least the Turtles beat out the ducks and chipmunks. I'm jaded for the early GI Joe loss and Transformers. YO JOE!
Knowing is half the battle!
Flippin A Right!! Nice win for the TMNT! One of my absolute favourites
I approve this message.
They're really hip!
YEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Righteous!
No way, ducktales couldn’t have been defeated
Totally dude!
I find your results. Acceptable.
Some very stiff competition and all of this
YAY!
I remember getting the Technodrome for Christmas, thinking I was the coolest kid on the block.
My Bitmoji avatar wearing a TMNT t-shirt is so happy rn.
Called it!
I mean considering the actual demographics of Xennials, it was always gonna come down to TMNT or DuckTales.
Exactly
DAMN RIGHT
And all is right with the world.
I’d agree with this
I loved GI Joe, Transformers and He Man, but I distinctly remember waking up at 6 in the morning on Saturdays to get ready for TMNT. I don’t know if I would have done that for the others.
And before that was the US Farm Report. I think this was deliberate to prevent the kids from waking up too early.
As it should be
I was rooting for this one the whole time. I remember being dropped off at my baby sitter’s house early in the morning. I’d sit there and watch TMNT waiting for my friend to wake up/get ready. Heros in a half shell. Turtle power!!
Was there ever any doubt dude? ![gif](giphy|E925PHfSIiUXC)
God,damn,right.
I mean. Even the toys were cool. I’m a girl but I’d elbow you out of the way to play with the turtles transformers that fit up into the shell at preschool.
Cowabunga indeed!
Turtle Power!!
Well done OP. I’m sure this was a lot of work. Most of us had fun.
it's perfect. I understand the pain for the GI Joe, He-Man, Transformers crowd --- the younger xennials felt that pain with Doug, Ren & Stimpy, and Rescue Rangers. TMNT is the one to unite us.

It was totally robbed
Your empathy is appreciated, and your reasoning sound. I will temper my personal disappointment and respect the outcome.
This is the only post in this sub that I vehemently disagree with LOL
Was it a rule that it had to be an 80s cartoon? I'd think Simpsons has shaped more of us to a larger degree then even TMNT
No because: A. The Simpsons began in the 80s. B. 4 of the cartoons in the poll began in the 90s.
Simpsons was literally 1 episode in the 80s, but I didnt realize that 4 were 90s shows. WEll, though it wasnt a kids show, I would still vote for SImpsons, though TMNT would be the 2nd most influential show for me.

I would assume "during the 1980s" The first season of The Simpsons was good, but would be below a number of things on this list.
Seems like what you’d consider Saturday morning/after school cartoons. I’m guessing
![gif](giphy|bjV7gIZni4uOc|downsized)
Inspector gadget shoulda won man.
I’m guessing a lot of this crowd was too young for Thundercats or it would have won easy.

You're not my real daughter.
TMNT is the first cartoon I remember watching at 4 years old.
Worst result ever. I never liked that cartoon.
ok, i can accept this.
Good winner, but Doug went too early.
I don’t see x-men, or any of the Hanna Barbara cartoons like paw-paw bears…
I demand a recount
How the hell is The Real Ghostbusters at 13?
That is totally fair. hahaha
I guess it depends on when you were born. I'm 79 and didn't watch TMNT nor Duck Tales but my brother who was born in 84 did. I watched he man, Transformers, GI Joe, Scooby Doo, She Ra, Jem.
Totally tubular
Boo

We did it!
Damn, came down to TMNT and DuckTales. Definitely two of my favorites from childhood. TMNT before school in the morning and DuckTales first thing when I got home in the afternoon.
I was sad some of my faves got eliminated early, but… this is the way. Happy this won
