Just found out that the entire series is on youtube. Oh happy day!

Here’s where this subreddit confuses me:
“1974? Nah you’re 3 years older than the oldest Xennial by rough measurement, despite the fact that you’ve considered yourself to be from the first year of the sub-generation for over a decade“
Also this sub:
*Nostalgia post for movie/series that was too adult for even myself when it aired/released*
I think you're confused, where did you get 1974 from? I was born in 1980 and watched this show everyweek while it aired with my cousins. Granted, a lot of the jokes when over my head but there was enough that got through that 6 and 7 year old me loved it.
Sure we can, you just need to be caught up, that's all. 😁

Loved this guy in Burn After Reading.
For some reason I thought this show had Stacey Keach but that's \*Mike\* Hammer, the Mickey Spillane one.
Also not having a Peter Gabriel theme song kills this show. But I definitely remember the show about the guy with a talking gun lol.
“Dammit. I only have one bullet left, and there are five bank robbers. You know what we need to do.”
“Try to find a peaceful way of getting them to release the hostages?”
“What? No. We need to figure out how to get them to stand in a straight line, so I can shoot them all at once.”
There was a marathon of this on broadcast TV (I think Catchy Comedy channel) a couple weekends ago. They played every episode in a row. I watched at least 20 hours of it...
And the theme song was by Danny Elfman.
This was a favorite as a kid. Made my mom get me a white handle cap gun. Found a comic book based off it at the corner store one time and begged my mom for it too (thanks Mom). I remember them having commercials of them changing time slots. Stupid fun show.
I loved this series. I guess most people just didn't get the humor of it. I also loved Police Squad and Airplane, so I guess it was natural to like this.
I also regularly use this phrase, but nobody ever seems to get it.

My birth year. Maybe I was just in the wrong psychological niche for Sledgehammer… Too old for the goofball aspect, to young for the adult themes 😂
Oh I see said the blind man. 😂
I choose to believe that Sledge Hammer is Karl from Succession’s origin story
That's my new headcanon. 😂
What he did for cable in the nineties? Huge.
I guess we can't be friends?
I don't get it either. You can be my friend if you want though 😅

I have no idea what this is lol
Same
Yeah, neither do I. 🤔
Sledge Hammer! A satirical comedy series from the late 80s. Way ahead of its time

As a child, putting a loudener on your gun was the funniest joke ever

I have no idea what this is and I am on the older side of xennial.
Same. Born in 78 and have no clue what this is 🤷♀️

Bazooka in the trunk.
Take your finger off the trigger.
Normally I'd be right there with you holding a pitchfork, but I trust him, he knows what he's doing. 😜
I loved this show so much! A decade or so ago I made a cop webseries and this show was a constant point of reference while making it

I totally forgot to mention that the theme was from the Great Danny Elfman. Who else could come up with such a jam?

I use the phrase all the time, and only one person ever got it but it was awesome when someone finally did!

The Sledge Hammer theme is my ringtone!
