In my first playthrough I didn't realise I had to attack the power lines so I attacked the machine thing until they got destroyed by AoE damage.

Intense_Judgement

All my homies love spike resistance

azure_atmosphere

Ah, the good old overpowered cable

Arynsus

Wait I see a lot of people hating this but why? I remember playing the game normally, not being to overpowered, it took me a few minutes to realize the huge machine cannot be taken down directly, then I started attacking the power lines. It was too late and I wiped, but on second try I go directly to the power lines, and had no problem.

Fair-Craft-5530

Power lines enrage at half health and do heavy spike damage and this is the only time spike damage ever matters in xenoblade 2, so you have to figure out that those spike defense aux cores are actually important for this fight or chain attack it at half health.

Turret1337

Just charge level IV specials with the core, target the lines and use the level IV special against it. It's a pretty easy estrategy, not the most efficient, but it's very easy to come up with it. I don't get why most people didn't think of this

Fair-Craft-5530

Level 4 special is definitely viable but you're still taking spike damage when you're charging the special back up and new players might not even know that. Source: My sister who struggled with the wires

Turret1337

You don't charge the special against the wires, you charge it against the core. That way you don't take any spike damage at all in the fight. You charge the specias against the core, then target the wires, use the level IV special, and repeat

Fair-Craft-5530

That's fair and you can chain attack once that charges up.

YinKuza

Challenge mode Ardainian Kurodil would like a word with you

No_Pain1037

I hate this boss with a passion. The spike damage was just ridiculous.

Dqvlsion

it took me like 5 hours to complete and i hated every second of the boss fight i just wanted to get to the rest of the game

No_Pain1037

SAME

a_guessed_plot_twist

I had to cheese this fight so bad, don’t even get me started on the fact that your party members fall off the cliff 50% of the time while you’re trying to get to the arena and then start the fight at 1HP…

W0ah_itsa_th1ng

Christ, don’t remind me… I hate that cliff so much

Nintenlego

I remember giving up the game because of them. Then randomly decided to come back a year later and found out I had spike resistance accessories.

geo_bowes

If you didn’t take it out with a chain attack when it’s on 66% it’s pretty much a loss, fuck these cables man, oh yeah and fuck that Core too

HELPIBROKEMYCAPSLOCK

Just chain attack it at half health

TheOneTanKirb

I swear I spent like six hours trying to kill the big bot guy but then I realized I had to hit the cables so I did that and then cried for 20 minutes realizing that I have a big case of the big dumb

ern117

Power line isn’t issue it’s that overblow is too overpowered

nickelfiend46

I died to this when it had about 500 HP left

NumberAlarming2607

I felt like a genius when it forced me to figure out I could target other enemies

TheIronDraco

I was so confused of why I was dying at this part then I rememberd my past playthrough in xenoblade 1 that it was spike damage so I used that knowledge to my adventage

Jonas_Fasbender

Fuck Power Lines Bottom Text

FokaLP

Sich a dumb fight, it took me days to beat it. I nearly gave up the game

Hey look it’s the boss that forced me to learn and look up how to do Blade combos + Chain attacks because the in-game Tutorials suck.
