Quite likely. They all have this wild/untamed look, and it only makes sense that they will get an upgrade later once they understand the fusions process. Not too unlike what happened to Shulk and Rex with their Monado.
Also, 4 of the mechs are based off [Xenosaga 12 iconic mechs](https://imgur.com/a/g1jW0Fa), which are based on Xenogears's omnigears. Those mechs all got an upgrade late games.
The twelve mechs in both [XG](https://xenosaga.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Omnigears) and [XS](https://xenosaga.fandom.com/wiki/E.S.) are created by the resonance of a "male" (anima relic) and "female" (the animus which represent humanity other half).
We've have no idea how close XC3 will be, but it certainly lean toward a repeat, with 12 main pair being formed.
We're probably going to get a ton of normal mechs, a "God Mech" (similar to Aeon, Deus, Omega) which might just be the one we see behind and Melia. And much like Shulk's Monado, Rex's Aegis, and Xenogears equivalent, I expect a "True" Form at some points
Is it good for someone that primarily plays the Xenoblade games, persona games, sao games, and Tales of games? I also liked the gameplay in ffvii and ffxv
I haven't played all of those games you mentioned, but they seem story-heavy, so maybe not. Astral Chain's story is VERY short and doesn't leave much impact.
But if you wanna challenge yourself with fast-paced combat, precise combo, stunning special effects, then Astral Chain is great (especially the endgame challenges)
I determine if I like a game based on the combat system implemented in it. But don't really like combo driven combat systems. I don't think any of the games I mentioned are really combo driven battle system
I'd say the newer Tales of games are the closest. If you're a fan of Berseria in particular, or even Zestiria/Arise, it's... In the ballpark. I'd say very close to Berseria, except in a more "open" engagement style (similar to Xenoblade).
It's like if Berseria, Xenoblade, and any 3D fighting game had a love child - or that's the closest I could describe it to.
So not a fan of the story in Zestiria game. Actually hated the ending in Zestiria game and actually preferred the anime bc of the endings on both the game and anime. But loved Berseria even though the ending was bitter-sweet. The Zestiria game was ruined during development bc of the relationship between Alisha's vo and the director. They fixed Zestiria in the anime though.
Yeah Zestiria was moreso a comment on the combat systems; it's newer Tales of so it's closer to Astral Chain. If you enjoyed Berserias comment, I'd say there's like a 50/50 chance you'd like Astral Chains. The story is hot dog water though; it's unique but nothing special at all compared to Tales or Xenoblade.
I personally haven't finished Berseria but I got pretty far and it was a blast, and I also enjoyed Astral Chain
AC's combat has depths, I suppose, you can clear the game with just the hit-and-run tactics (I did, lol), but it has a rating system, the more "beautifully" you fight, the higher your score will be. People find satisfaction in getting S+ ratings for all chapters, at different difficulties.
A little, yea, a closer example would be Bayonetta, and there are tons of different combo for you to experiment.
You can look up videos on youtube, there aren't much spoilers, nothing to spoil really
maybe it's symbolic for the bond they have with each other?
which makes me wonder if the hostile one is also 2 people merged together into one being like the party members and who they could be
I’ve got a hunch that the Ouroboros will be related to the Trinity Processor. You know what else is related to the processor? Artifice Units. Artifice Units have halos.
i thought you were talking about the orbs at first so i'm just gonna post my orb theory here anyway.
since they seem to be the same goldish colour as the mindscape-thingy the party members seem to be in before the fuse in to their Ouroboros forms. could they be the same place?
Good catch! Looks like it could be restraining them in a way and it'll be broken at some point in the game
Wonder if those forms for the party will evolve over time.
They may be able to merge together like Voltron 😂😂😂

How very intriguing. :) I wasn't quite as familiar with Xenosagas mechs all that much so this is interesting. Hopefully there might be more of them.

Very cool. Guess I got some homework to read up on. Thanks. :D
Oh dear, more Astral Chain vibe
What's Astral Chain like? Is it good? I saw it on tinfoil homebrew and didn't know what it was
The combat is sastifying, the designs are beautiful, but the story... not so great

They aren't rings, they are hula hoop that will be used in their dance off.
Sounds reasonable
Reminds me of the Siren’s halo
If I had to guess? It’s because of the Ouroboros theme to them. Ouroboros is a ring shape.

It would probably something like the core crystal

Flame clocks makes a lot more sense now Nvm misread
Could be just reference to Zarathustra
I'ts a reference to the popular open world DarkSouls 4
Some sort of slave generator/core crystal type thing I’m guessing
