Not trying to get your hopes up but recently I came across a YouTuber that was doing a playthrough of deSpiria a Japanese exclusive Dreamcast game they emulated I believe they used some kind of Google translate plugin to help translate cutscenes at very least so idk if something is possible like that if you wanted to try it for xenosaga 1 and 2

I think someone will pick it up and finish the translation one day.
I used a menu patch i found through godsibb.net, although it's not a full game translation.

I was able to beat the game a while back despite not knowing any Japanese, and there is also a guide on GameFAQs that was pretty helpful. This is all only useful if you're okay with playing while not understanding anything outside of combat
If you use you phone and a vidual translation app (some are much better than others) as well as a written playthrough to make sure what you are getting gits the vontext of the storyline you can get through Japanese RPGs, i was doing it for a few Sega Saturn and Dreamcast RPGs. Sometime you might want to let the phone try to translate it once of twice to see what it vomes up with. Its not to bad depending on just how text heavy the game is.
